Abstract

This study aimed to develop a Waygroundbased Student Worksheet (LKPD) integrated with local wisdom for teaching poetry reading to eleventh grade students by employing the ADDIE development model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The results of the media expert validation showed a score of 90,67%, categorized as excellent; the material expert validation reached 96.00%, categorized as excellent; and the assessment expert validation obtained 89,17%, also categorized as excellent. Based on students’ responses, the product achieved 94,33% in the smallgroup trial and 92% in the largegroup trial, while the teacher’s response reached 90%. Furthermore, the average pretest score was 58,5183, whereas the average posttest score increased to 81,1106. The normality test indicated that both pretest and posttest data were normally distributed. Subsequently, the paired samples t-test produced a significance value of 0.000 < 0,05, indicating that the LKPD had a significant effect on improving students’ learning outcomes. In addition, the N-Gain result was 0,5927, with a percentage of 59,2705%, which falls into the moderately effective category. Therefore, the Wayground-based LKPD integrated with local wisdom is considered feasible, attractive, and moderately effective for use in teaching poetry reading.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low speaking skills of students in negotiation text learning, such as lack of confidence in expressing opinions, passive participation during discussions, and limited opportunities to practice speaking. This study aimed to determine the differences in students’ speaking skills between classes using the Cooperative Script learning method and classes not using the method, as well as to determine the effectiveness of the Cooperative Script method in improving negotiation text speaking skills of tenth-grade students at SMK Nasional Berbah. This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental research design and a Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The population consisted of tenth-grade students of SMK Nasional Berbah, with a sample of 56 students divided into an experimental class and a control class. Data collection techniques included observation, tests, questionnaires, and documentation. Data were analyzed using normality tests, homogeneity tests, and t-tests with the assistance of SPSS 26 software. The results showed that the Cooperative Script learning method was effective in improving students’ speaking skills in negotiation text learning. This was indicated by the posttest mean score of the experimental class, which was 85.43, higher than the control class score of 67.68. In addition, the normality test results showed that the data were normally distributed, indicating that the statistical analysis requirements were fulfilled. Therefore, the Cooperative Script method can be used as an alternative learning method to improve students’ activeness and speaking skills in negotiation text learning.

Abstract

This study was prompted by the low level of student engagement in writing lessons at lower secondary school, particularly when teaching procedural texts, which are still dominated by lecture-based methods, the use of generic teaching materials, and a lack of integration of local cultural contexts into the learning process. These conditions result in students being less active, easily bored, and struggling to express their ideas coherently in writing. This study aims to develop a task-based textbook incorporating local wisdom to improve the writing skills of junior high school students in Bantul Regency. The study employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which comprises the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The research was conducted at State Junior High School 2 Imogiri, with the test subjects comprising Year 7 pupils, Indonesian language teachers, subject matter experts, and experts in teaching materials or media. Data collection methods included observation, interviews, questionnaires, tests and documentation. The data were analysed using both qualitative and quantitative methods. The research findings indicate that the textbook developed meets the criteria for suitability based on expert validation, is practical based on feedback from teachers and pupils, and is effective for use in teaching procedural writing. The use of a task-based approach helps pupils to write in a gradual and structured manner, whilst the inclusion of local wisdom makes learning more contextual, closely aligned with pupils’ experiences, and encourages greater engagement in the learning process. Consequently, task-based textbooks incorporating local wisdom can be used as an alternative teaching resource in Indonesian language lessons to support the development of pupils’ writing skills.
