Abstract

Bagi masyarakat, berhubungan dengan sumber pembiayaan informal seringkali menjadi pilihan mudah karena kemudahan persyaratan dan akses. Rentenir, baik yang sifatnya tradisional mendatangi rumah warga, maupun yang eksis di era digital seperti pinjaman online menjadi persoalan serius bagi masyarakat, terutama masyarakat golongan ekonomi rendah. Tujuan dari diadakannya pengabdian ini ialah sebagai upaya untuk mencegah dampak yang lebih luas atas bahaya praktik rentenir utamanya di perkampungan padat penduduk. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat melalui sosialisasi ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 10 Agustus 2023 bertempat di Masjid At Taubah Batang Banyu, Kampung Melayu Laut, Kelurahan Melayu Kota Banjarmasin. Sasaran kegiatan ini ialah warga Kampung Melayu Laut dengan jumlah peserta 40 orang. Metode pelaksanaan yaitu dengan cara ceramah, kemudian dilanjutkan dengan diskusi dan tanya jawab. Evaluasi dilaksanakan menggunakan pemberian soal pretest dan posttest. Hasil evaluasi menyatakan terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan dan perubahan cara pandang. Penyerapan materi oleh peserta sosialisasi sangat baik yaitu diatas 80% dilihat dari nilai evaluasi awal dan akhir. Hasil dari kegiatan ini diharapkan masyarakat menjadi lebih paham tentang bahaya praktik rentenir.For the community, dealing with informal sources of financing is an easy option because of the ease of requirements and access. Moneylenders, who traditionally come to people's homes, and those that exist in the digital era, such as online loans, are a severe problem for the community, especially people from lower economic groups. The purpose of holding this service is to prevent a wider impact on the dangers of moneylender practices, especially in densely populated settlements. This community service activity through socialization was carried out on August 10, 2023, at the At Taubah Batang Banyu Mosque, Kampung Melayu Laut, Melayu Village, Banjarmasin City. The target of this activity is Kampung Melayu Laut people, with 50 participants. The implementation method is through lectures, discussion, and question and answer. The evaluation was carried out using pre-test and post-test questions. The evaluation results stated an increase in knowledge and a change in perspective. Material absorption by socialization participants was very good, namely above 80%, as seen from the initial and final evaluation scores. The results of this activity are expected to make the community more aware of the dangers of moneylender practices.

Abstract

This paper seeks to analyze and study further about how the marketing strategy is carried out by utilizing badminton athletes in advertisements carried out by Bank Mandiri. This is important to do as an evaluation material for marketing communication strategies carried out in the new media era, because the object of research is taken from videos on the Yotube platform. The focus of the research will be on three advertising videos on Bank Mandiri's Youtube channel which were uploaded on November 5, 2018 – February 10, 2019. The results show that the use of badminton athletes as commercial star for Bank Mandiri is a marketing communication strategy that has been carefully calculated. If referring to the concept of marketing communication strategy, namely segmentation, targeting, and positioning. It can be seen that Bank Mandiri has implemented its marketing communication strategy well and effectively. The strong position of the three athletes in forming a brand image is the reason for Bank Mandiri to use the three as commercial star. It is hoped that the strong brand image of the three athletes can influence the corporate image of Bank Mandiri so that it can imitate the image of the three who are already strong, namely young, millennial, and high achievers.

Abstract

This paper discusses the construction of media coverage under the auspices of MNC Media. The method in this paper uses a descriptive approach. The analysis is based on the political economy of media theory developed by Vincent Mosco. The theoretical approach used is more specific to structuration theory. The conclusion is that there is a conflict of interest and political interest between Hary Tanoe, the leader of the MNC Group, and his media. Since the MNC Group and the Perindo Party have the same power structure, producing news content through MNC Media is nothing but a political publication of the Perindo Party itself.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to enhance digital literacy among the youth of Hasanuddin Madjedi Mosque in Banjarmasin, focusing on preventing cyberbullying and Online Gender-Based Violence (OGBV). Initial observations revealed that 95% of the mosque's youth use digital media but lack a comprehensive understanding of the negative impacts of harmful content, particularly related to cyberbullying and OGBV. The activity was conducted through a series of socialization and training sessions involving 40 youth participants. The methods included education, training on creating positive content, the application of technology utilizing digital platforms such as Instagram and TikTok, as well as post-activity mentoring and evaluation. The results demonstrated a significant improvement in participants' understanding of the dangers of cyberbullying and OGBV, along with their skills in producing positive digital content. This program is expected to serve as a model for digital literacy programs for other community groups, involving local communities and educational institutions.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perbedaan framing antara media lokal dan nasional dalam pemberitaan Operasi Tangkap Tangan (OTT) KPK di Pemerintah Provinsi Kalimantan Selatan. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode analisis framing Robert M. Entman, penelitian ini menelaah empat artikel berita dari dua media lokal Kalimantan Selatan (Tribun Banjarmasin dan Radar Banjarmasin) dan dua media nasional (Kompas.com dan Media Indonesia). Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan signifikan dalam cara media lokal dan nasional membingkai kasus tersebut. Media lokal condong menyoroti dampak langsung kasus serta solusi praktis yang dapat diterapkan, sementara media nasional lebih fokus pada isu-isu struktural yang melingkupi korupsi. Perbedaan ini mencerminkan kompleksitas dalam peliputan kasus korupsi daerah dan menunjukkan pentingnya kolaborasi antara media lokal dan nasional untuk memberikan perspektif yang lebih komprehensif kepada publik. Temuan ini memiliki implikasi penting dalam memahami peran media dalam membentuk opini publik terhadap isu korupsi, serta dalam pengembangan strategi pemberantasan korupsi dan peningkatan tata kelola pemerintahan di Indonesia. Penelitian ini juga menekankan perlunya penguatan jurnalisme investigatif dan peningkatan literasi media di kalangan masyarakat.

Abstract

Media framing of international conflicts significantly influences public perception and foreign policy discourse, as in the Israel-Lebanon conflict. The study examines how the attack on Lebanon by Israel in September to October 2024 was reported differently by Kompas.id (Indonesian secular), Republika.co.id (Indonesian Islamic), CNN.com (US mainstream), and Aljazeera.com (Qatari pan-Arab). It aims to understand how geographical location, ideology, and cultural context shape international conflict narratives. A qualitative framing analysis was performed using Robert M. Entman’s four-element structure: defining the problem, explaining the causes, judging the morality, and suggesting solutions. Four news articles were analyzed using a systematic coding process, and intercoder reliability was checked. Kompas.id used neutral language, highlighting the international community’s disapproval and refraining from taking sides. Republika.co.id presented Israel’s actions as violations of sovereignty and urged the international community to put pressure on the country. CNN.com gave equal attention to regional events and different viewpoints. Aljazeera.com highlighted the crisis and the violations of international law in a very critical way. Media framing operates as a soft power mechanism in international relations, constructing epistemological frameworks that transcend simple objectivity-bias dichotomies. Indonesian media balances Western ideas of neutrality and the need to support their region. It is important to understand these framing dynamics for media literacy, diplomatic strategy and to notice the variety of knowledge in international journalism. Future research should incorporate audience reception studies and examine longer-term framing patterns across multiple conflicts.

Abstract

This study aims to determine and describe how communication in the Meratus Geopark community in carrying out job diversification as an effort to improve the economy. The research was conducted in Belangian Village, Aranio Subdistrict, Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan Province, which is included in the Meratus Geopark area which has been designated by the Indonesian National Geopark Committee (KNGI) as an Indonesian National Geopark in 2018 and the first Geopark in Kalimantan. This research uses data collection techniques of documentation, observation, and in-depth interviews. Qualitative data from key informants, farmers and gardeners will be elaborated in FGD activities. The collected data is then processed using qualitative data analysis techniques from Miles and Huberman. Based on the results of the research, it was found that communication in the community in Belangian village has a very important opinion leader role in job diversification. The role of opinion leader is the role of leader, innovator, motivator, visual information center, and role model. With this role, opinion leaders have succeeded in providing innovations in rural employment diversification that can increase community income.

Abstract

The conflict between Israel and Palestine has become a humanitarian tragedy and is in the spotlight of the world's mass media. This research seeks to determine the framing of the coverage of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict based on Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki's analysis model. Two leading online media, detik.com and republika.co.id, were selected as research objects because they have a long history, different audiences, and contrasting approaches to reporting, which reflect their views and handling of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. It is a qualitative study; data was collected through observation, documentation, and literature study. The analysis results found that detik.com and republika.co.id syntactically present the facts clearly; the script fulfills the 5W + 1H elements with credible source quotes. The thematic structure of detik.com emphasizes the number of victims due to Israeli attacks on Palestine. The rhetorical structure of detik.com contains idioms and displays photos relevant to the news content. The thematic structure of republika.co.id emphasizes the form of Israeli attacks on the Jabalia Refugee Camp. The rhetorical structure contains idioms and photos relevant to the news content. Detik.com frames the news by using the figurative word "bak neraka dunia” (like hell on earth) so that it seems dramatized in its point of view, while republika.co.id is more straightforward in writing sentences and reporting.
