Abstract

This study aims to identify research trends related to women's empowerment in the tourism industry over the past ten years, from 2014 to 2024. The method used in this study is qualitative, using a literature review approach. The data was collected through the Scopus database, which resulted in 117 publication documents that met the criteria in the period 2014 to 2024. Data analysis was carried out using the VOSviewer application. The results of the study show that there are 117 publication documents related to women's empowerment in the tourism industry. However, the topic of women's empowerment has not been explored much from the perspective of tourism empowerment. Women's empowerment is considered important to be discussed in the context of tourism, as tourism activities provide new opportunities for women to access resources and employment. However, women's empowerment still faces various obstacles. Therefore, effective collaboration between stakeholders is needed to be able to increase women's empowerment, especially in the field of Tourism.

Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of entrepreneurial orientation, digital marketing orientation, and innovation orientation on competitive advantage and marketing performance in micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Central Java, Indonesia. Using the SEM-PLS method, data were collected from MSME owners who have adopted digital marketing. The results show that entrepreneurial orientation and digital marketing orientation enhance competitive advantage, which in turn positively impacts marketing performance. However, innovation orientation, although positively contributing to competitive advantage, does not have a significant direct effect on marketing performance. Competitive advantage plays an important role as a mediator between strategic orientation and marketing performance. These findings enrich the strategic management literature by clarifying the still inconsistent role of innovation orientation in MSME performance. Practically, this study recommends that MSME owners and policymakers prioritize entrepreneurial activities and digital strategies to enhance competitiveness and marketing success in a dynamic business environment.

Abstract

Transportation has significant role in urban life. Commuting students in universities in Semarang have several options in transportation modes. This study aimed to examine student preferences for train and airplane transportation modes and factors influencing it. Data of 110 students at several Semarang City Universities compiled by purposive sampling were then analyzed using descriptive statistics method. The results showed that most students prefer train transportation modes rather than airplanes. Regarding the level and quality of service, trains provide better services at cheaper, faster, and more practical prices. Meanwhile, based on the quality of service, aircraft transport offers better safety and comfort than Train transport. Although there are differences in the level and quality of comfort, students preferred to use train since the differences are not significant.

Abstract

This study examines the roles of collaboration and innovation in developing digital business ecosystems. It employs a narrative literature review of core scholarship on business ecosystems, digital platforms, and collaboration–innovation practices in both global and Indonesian contexts. The synthesis indicates that digital business ecosystems constitute multilateral interdependence structures that require alignment of roles and activities across actors to realize a shared value proposition. Collaboration therefore becomes a structural necessity, as ecosystem innovation is modular and complementary, and value emerges only when contributions from diverse parties are coherently integrated. Digital platforms accelerate ecosystem growth through generativity and network effects, yet they also demand collaborative governance to keep collective innovation coordinated and goal-oriented. Empirical evidence further shows that collaboration facilitated by platforms, hubs, or intermediaries speeds up the exchange of data, knowledge, and resources, triggering technological, service, governance, and business-model innovations that enhance ecosystem performance and sustainability. However, many ecosystems still face limitations in the depth of collaboration—often not progressing to co-production or joint R&D—resulting in suboptimal collective innovation. This study enriches digital ecosystem theory and offers practical implications for orchestrating collaboration and sustaining innovation in digital business ecosystems.
