Abstract

This paper examines the critical global issues of food insecurity and food waste, with a specific focus on Indonesia, a country that ranks second among the top 25 contributors to food waste. Despite being a significant contributor to global food waste, Indonesia faces a paradoxical challenge of widespread hunger, with millions of its population experiencing food insecurity. The 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) highlight the urgent need for awareness and action to reduce food waste, yet empirical research on food waste behavior, particularly at the household level in Indonesia, remains scarce. Existing studies predominantly utilize theoretical frameworks such as the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) to analyze food waste behavior, though these are primarily exploratory in nature. This paper identifies a gap in empirical research and presents an opportunity to investigate food waste behavior in Indonesia using contextual data. Drawing on the perspective of social marketing, the paper also reviews recent studies, including those by Kim et al. (2020), which explore the effectiveness of social marketing programs in promoting food waste reduction. Furthermore, it considers the role of emotional factors, such as gratitude, in influencing consumer behavior toward food waste, as discussed in research by Septianto et al. (2020). The paper concludes by highlighting the potential policy instruments and interventions suggested by Principato et al. (2021) that can contribute to reducing food waste at the consumer level. Through this conceptual framework, the paper aims to foster greater understanding of food waste issues in Indonesia and provide insights for future empirical research and policy development.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of generative AI technologies, such as ChatGPT, has introduced significant innovations across various sectors. However, the factors influencing the continuance usage intention of these technologies remain underexplored, particularly among university students in Indonesia. This study investigates the role of Personal Innovativeness within the framework of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) in determining students' intentions to continue using ChatGPT. The study used a quantitative method, involving a survey of 252 Indonesian university students. The survey measured Personal Innovativeness, Perceived Ease of Use, Perceived Usefulness, and Continuance Usage Intention using validated measures on a Likert scale with five points. Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-PLS) was utilized to evaluate the evidence. The results demonstrate that all three factors have a favorable effect on the desire to continue utilizing ChatGPT. Theoretically, this study expands the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) by incorporating Personal Innovativeness, offering new insights into factors that sustain long-term technology engagement. This integration contributes to the growing body of knowledge on technology adoption and its continued use, especially within educational contexts. Practically, the results underscore the importance of developing user-friendly and beneficial AI tools and fostering an innovative mindset among students to enhance sustained engagement. Future research should consider longitudinal studies and more diverse populations to further elucidate the factors influencing the continuance usage intention of AI technologies in educational contexts. These insights have significant implications for educators and developers aiming to improve the adoption and sustained use of AI tools like ChatGPT in education.

Abstract

Indonesia as one of the largest maritime countries in the world has enormous potential. To overcome this, it is necessary to optimize zakat. In this context, it is necessary to develop seafood zakat products through a productive distribution model so that the potential for community empowerment is realized. The purpose of this study is to identify and develop a distribution model of marine product zakat based on public perception. This research method is qualitative with a comparative study approach. Data collection techniques include observation, documentation, and deep interviews. The object of this research is the coastal communities located on the coast of Depok and the coast of Gunung Kidul, Yogyakarta. The results showed that the zakat on marine products from fishermen was not realized due to the lack of knowledge about the zakat distribution model and there was no collection of zakat funds for marine products. The solution offered by the researcher is to create a model for the distribution of zakat on marine products that will be collected by an organization called the "Network Charity Fishermen" (JAMAN). The JAMAN organization is managed by the Ta'mir of the local mosque so that the implementation of zakat on marine products can be coordinated and the distribution of zakat is realized

Abstract

The increasingly dynamic business environment requires business actors, especially MSMEs, to adapt quickly and strategically to remain sustainable. Human resource management that is not only administrative but also oriented towards entrepreneurial values is believed to be the key to strengthening competitiveness in an era of rapidly changing markets. This study aims to analyse the effect of entrepreneurial human resource management integration on business ecosystem sustainability, with the dynamic market era as a mediating variable. This study employs an explanatory quantitative approach to examine MSMEs in Magelang Regency, Central Java. The study population consists of all active MSME actors, and through the proportionate stratified random sampling method, 71 respondents were obtained as the study sample. Primary data were collected using a Likert scale questionnaire and analysed using Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS version 4.0. The results show that integrating entrepreneurial human resource management has a positive effect on market adaptability, which significantly improves the sustainability of the business ecosystem. Furthermore, the dynamic market era was found to mediate the relationship between entrepreneurial human resource management and business sustainability. This confirms that successful innovative human resource management must be accompanied by the ability to cope with changes in the external environment. These findings have important implications for strengthening MSME development strategies based on human capabilities and sustainable market adaptation.

Abstract

This study examines the regulation of child marriage in post-reform Indonesia through a socio-legal approach that integrates the principles of maqāṣid al-sharīʿah. Although recent reforms have raised the minimum age for marriage, existing policies remain inadequate to address fundamental challenges such as gender inequality, educational disparities, and public health risks. Using a doctrinal legal method complemented by content analysis, this research analyses statutory texts, academic literature, and policy documents within a qualitative interpretive paradigm informed by social jurisprudence in its socio-religious context. The findings reveal that child marriage persists due to deeply rooted structural issues, including poverty and gender inequality, which are reinforced by socio-religious norms surrounding marriage, sexuality, and morality. Regulatory inconsistencies and divergences among institutional actors further exacerbate the problem, disproportionately affecting girls. The study argues that efforts to eliminate child marriage require policies aligned with a maqāṣid al-sharīʿah framework that addresses structural root causes and fosters a gender-just transformation of society. In terms of academic contribution, this research bridges Islamic legal theory with contemporary socio-legal challenges, demonstrating how maqāṣid al-sharīʿah can inform progressive policy reform. It contributes to the literature by providing a framework for integrating normative Islamic values with socio-legal interventions, highlighting the interplay between law, culture, and religion in shaping social outcomes. Methodologically, it advances the combination of doctrinal and content analysis within a qualitative interpretive approach, offering a model applicable to other socio-legal issues in Muslim-majority contexts. The study concludes with normative recommendations for reforming child marriage policies in accordance with Islamic legal principles, prioritising the protection, dignity, and rights of children and women while promoting gender equality and long-term societal well-being.
