Abstract

Sungkai (Peronema canescens Jack) is a medicinal plant traditionally used by the community as a medicine for caterpillars, diarrhea, mouthwash, and malaria. This activity aims to provide an understanding of the scientific efficacy of sungkai leaves through training in the use of sungkai leaves as herbal drinks. The mentoring activity begins with socialization and education to increase understanding and training in processing sungkai leaves into standardized tea with the addition of other herbs to improve community skills. It ends with a survey to evaluate the activity. Sungkai leaf tea is made in four variations: variation 1 (sungkai leaves + palm sugar + cinnamon), variation 2 (sungkai leaves + palm sugar + lemon), variation 3 (sungkai leaves + cinnamon + honey), and variation 4 (sungkai leaves + lemon + honey). The results of observations and surveys of the community regarding variations of sungkai tea found that the community liked the variation of sungkai tea, reaching 87 - 94% with a preference level of 25% for each variation 1, 2, 3, and 4. This activity increased community knowledge and skills by 95%.

Abstract

Peronema canescens Jack (commonly known as sungkai) is an endemic medicinal plant native to Sumatra and Kalimantan, known for its broad spectrum of pharmacological activities, including antioxidant, antibacterial, antidiabetic, antihyperuricemic, and anti-inflammatory effects. These properties are largely attributed to its high content of bioactive phenolic and flavonoid compounds. Conventional extraction techniques typically utilize organic solvents such as ethanol or methanol, which raise concerns regarding toxicity, cost, and environmental sustainability. This study explores a green extraction strategy employing Natural Deep Eutectic Solvents (NADES), formulated from sodium acetate and glycerol at varying molar ratios, to optimize the recovery of antioxidant compounds from sungkai leaves. The extraction process involved maceration for 2 × 24 hours. FTIR analysis identified key functional group absorptions (O–H, C–H, C=C), with distinct spectral shifts and intensity variations, indicating interactions between NADES components and bioactive molecules. Among the four tested formulations, NADES 4 (sodium acetate:glycerol, 1:3) yielded the highest total phenolic and flavonoid contents, and exhibited the strongest antioxidant activity, with an IC50 value of 32.30 ppm—classified as very strong and comparable to ascorbic acid. These results demonstrate that the compositional adjustment of NADES significantly influences solvent polarity and extraction efficiency, underscoring their promise as sustainable alternatives for the extraction of natural antioxidants.

Abstract

Abstract Alzheimer's contamination is a neurodegenerative sickness brought about by a decline in the blend of acetylcholine because of the breakdown of acetylcholine into choline and the determination of acidic corrosive by the compound Acetylcholinesterase (Hurt). Compounds known to have heartbeat restraining developments are promising medications for the treatment of these contaminations. In this investigation, in-silico studies were done on the blend found in Miana (Coleus) further to see whether this combination could be utilized as a remedial application in the treatment of Alzheimer's illness utilizing sub-nuclear docking procedures. From the consequences of the examination, it is realized that the Pyrazolopyridine compound is the best medication contender with a limiting energy and stable limitation benefit of - 6.96 kcal/mol and 7.95 µm separately, with hydrogen securities happening in the destructive development of amino SER 293. Kata Kunci:         Alzheimer’s; In Silico; Miana
