Abstract

Small and Medium Enterprises (UKM) in Pangkal Pinang, Bangka, often need help managing production and finance due to limited application of information technology. To overcome the problems of managing production and finance, this community service activity was carried out to implement the "TACON" management information system application in several selected UKM. The method of implementing the activity includes identifying UKM in need, training them to use the application, implementing the system, and monitoring and evaluating its impact. The activity results showed increased operational efficiency, where the production process became more organized, and financial transparency increased with more accurate recording. In addition, the training provided also improved the competence of human resources in the related UKM. The main contribution of this activity is to strengthen the competitiveness of UKM in Pangkalpinang by applying appropriate information technology and providing a solid foundation for UKM in facing future business challenges. This program proves that, when appropriately implemented, information technology can be an effective tool in supporting the sustainability and growth of UKM.

Abstract

Produk cacat dalam produksi bata ringan dapat menyebabkan dampak negatif tidak hanya pada biaya keuangan, tetapi juga pada efisiensi produksi, reputasi perusahaan, dan aspek bisnis secara keseluruhan. Produk cacat mengakibatkan pemborosan bahan baku seperti semen, pasir, foam, dan air, serta energi yang telah digunakan dalam proses produksi, seperti pencampuran, pencetakan, dan pengeringan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengurangi tingkat cacat produk dengan memodifikasi mesin potong bata ringan dari tipe sumbu X menjadi tipe sumbu X-Y. Mesin potong tipe sumbu X hanya mampu memotong pada satu sumbu, sedangkan tipe sumbu X-Y dapat memotong pada dua sumbu secara simultan. Desain penelitian menggunakan eksperimen komparatif antara dua mesin dengan variabel bebas berupa jenis mesin, dan variabel terikat berupa jumlah cacat produk dalam satu siklus pemotongan. Pengamatan dilakukan selama lima siklus untuk setiap mesin. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan formulir khusus dan dijaga konsistensi variabel lain seperti bahan baku dan jumlah pekerja. Analisis data meliputi uji normalitas (Kolmogorov-Smirnov) untuk memastikan distribusi data, dilanjutkan dengan uji t untuk membandingkan jumlah cacat antara kedua mesin. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa modifikasi mesin potong menjadi tipe sumbu X-Y secara signifikan menurunkan jumlah cacat produk, sehingga meningkatkan efisiensi dan kualitas produksi bata ringan. Analisis dilakukan menggunakan software Minitab untuk memastikan keakuratan hasil. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa modifikasi mesin potong berhasil menurunkan tingkat cacat secara signifikan, memberikan manfaat nyata terhadap efisiensi dan kualitas produksi bata ringan.

Abstract

The Bangka Belitung Islands consist of two main islands, namely Bangka Island and Belitung Island, which have abundant marine natural resource potential. One of the typical products of the seafood is Kericu, which is a snack made from squid eggs and sago. Kericu has become a special souvenir that is in demand and has become a home-based business opportunity. UMKM "Ampiang Yu Erin" is one of the producers of keriku whose manufacture is still using manual methods, which causes obstacles in terms of worker fatigue and product inconsistencies. To overcome this problem, modifications to the crevice forming machine are carried out to improve production efficiency and product uniformity. Although the desired results have not yet been fully achieved, the trial showed progress close to the expected crease shape, confirming the importance of the mold in influencing the final quality of the product.

Abstract

The main challenge in the briquette-making process is selecting the appropriate and proportionate reinforcement or adhesive. The chosen adhesive must not only provide strong adhesion but also be compatible with other components. Briquettes are alternative fuels in solid form, made from carbon-containing materials with a high calorific value, allowing them to burn for an extended period. Coal is one of the alternative materials that can be used for briquettes. The choice of adhesive type and composition directly influences the compressive strength, thermal stability, and durability of briquettes in various environmental conditions. This study aims to investigate how process parameters affect the compressive strength of briquettes produced from coal powder reinforced with molasses, to improve the efficiency of the briquette production process. The methodology used in this study is the Taguchi method. The process parameters include four factors, each with three levels, tested with three replications: the percentage of reinforcement or adhesive at levels of 10%, 12.5%, and 15%; pressure at levels of 8 MPa, 10 MPa, and 12 MPa; temperature at levels of 70 °C, 90 °C, and 110 °C; and heating time at levels of 60 minutes, 90 minutes, and 120 minutes. To enhance the comprehensiveness of the study, several factors, including the moisture content of the briquettes, have also been examined. The results indicate that the temperature during the drying process is the most significant factor influencing the production of these briquettes.

Abstract

Bangka Belitung State Manufacturing Polytechnic (Polman Babel) provides a mechanical laboratory as a facility for student practice, equipped with various machines and tools, including a forklift lifting device. We conducted an identification process and interviews with laboratory technicians (PLP) to inquire about damage to the machine. The forklift experienced electrical issues and a dead battery (ACCU), requiring repair and reconditioning. Subsequently, planning and repair actions were carried out to address the issues with the forklift. After the repair and reconditioning process, a lifting test was conducted. The test involved lifting a load with an adjusted weight, and based on the results, the forklift was successfully restored to a reliable working condition.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the efficiency and productivity of the production machine for Keripik Telur Cumi (Keritcu), a traditional snack from Bangka made from squid eggs and sago. The research employs a quantitative approach by measuring operational time, production capacity, energy consumption, and defective product rates. Efficiency analysis was conducted using Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) indicators, which include machine availability, performance, and product quality. The results show a machine efficiency rate of 75% with an average productivity of 2.5 kg/hour. The OEE value of 45% falls below the ideal industry standard (>85%), with a daily downtime of 1 hour and a product rejection rate of 10%. Improvement recommendations include reducing downtime, increasing production speed, and lowering the defect rate through machine optimization and operator training. The implementation of these recommendations is expected to enhance efficiency, productivity, and the product's competitiveness in the market.

Abstract

Coal is one of Indonesia's most abundant energy and mineral resources in the mining sector, remaining a primary energy source globally. This study aims to analyze the effect of combining anthracite coal and coconut shell charcoal powder on the compressive strength of briquettes with variations in process parameters, including temperature, heating time, and water:molasses ratio as a binder. Briquettes were produced using a composition of 90% anthracite coal and 10% coconut shell charcoal powder, with molasses binders in ratios of 4:1 and 4:3. Compressive strength tests were conducted at temperatures of 100°C and 120°C with heating times of 60 and 90 minutes. The results indicate that the optimal combination to achieve the highest compressive strength was at a temperature of 120°C, a heating time of 90 minutes, and a water:molasses ratio of 4:3, yielding a compressive strength of 506.3 kPa (5.166 kg/cm²). Increasing temperature and a higher molasses ratio significantly improved the mechanical strength of the briquettes, while prolonged heating at lower temperatures tended to reduce compressive strength due to binder degradation. Therefore, further research is needed to optimize process parameters to meet national standards and enhance briquette durability.

Abstract

The transition away from reliance on fossil fuels is critical to fostering the development of renewable energy sources, with briquettes emerging as a particularly popular alternative. This study evaluates the effects of drying processes and variations in binder fractions on the compressive strength of anthracite briquettes. The briquettes were produced using binder fractions (water: dolomite lime) of 4:10, 4:12, 5:10, and 5:12 and subjected to mechanical pressures of 8, 9, and 10 tons with drying durations of 2, 4, and 6 days. The findings indicate that the 5:12 binder fraction achieved the highest compressive strength of 544 kPa after 6 days of drying, reflecting enhanced mechanical strength due to increased dolomite lime content. Conversely, an optimal drying time of 4 days was identified, balancing moisture reduction and briquette structural stability. This research provides valuable insights for developing high-quality briquettes as efficient and environmentally friendly renewable energy sources.

Abstract

Teknologi pencetakan 3D sangat banyak digunakan khususnya dalam bidang industri. Pada proses 3D Printing, pembuatan prototype dapat dibuat dalam waktu yang singkat. Salah satu teknologi yang sering digunakan adalah teknologi FDM, Teknologi Fused Depositon Modeling (FDM) merupakan Metode untuk menghasilkan bentuk produk 3Dimensi dengan bahan ideal dari sifat geometris. Pada kesempatan ini penulis melakukan penelitian tentang 3D Printing menggunakan jenis filamen PETG (Polyethylene Terephtalate Glycol) dengan parameter proses yang telah ditentukan. Melalui penerapan teknik Taguchi L27(33), penelitian ini memanfaatkan 3 parameter dan 3 level untuk menghasilkan bentuk produk dengan memperhatikan respon transparansi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui respons yang dihasilkan dari kombinasi parameter yang berbeda menggunakan Metode Grey Taguchi serta untuk mengukur seberapa besar pengaruh pencetakan menggunakan filamen. PETG dengan 3 parameter proses yang diuji dan tiga level yang berpengaruh pada pengujian transparansi. Berdasarkan penelitian, nilai transparansi tertinggi yang diperoleh yaitu dengan rata-rata 53 lux dan yang terendah adalah dengan rata-rata 168.667 lux, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa tingkat transparansi tertinggi adalah spesimen hasil pencetakan dengan nilai parameter nozzle temperature (250°C), infiil overlap percentage (70%), dan layer height (0,05 mm).
