Abstract. Breast milk dam is the occurrence of swelling in the breast due to increased venous and lymph flow accompanied by pain. Breast milk dams occur because the frequency of breastfeeding is less and the nipple is not normal. Breast problems that are often experienced by breastfeeding mothers include swollen breasts (Mansyur & Dahlan, 2014). This type of research uses an analytical survey using a cross-sectional design which aims to determine the factors that affect breast milk dams in postpartum mothers at the Totoli Health Center, Banggae District by measuring or observing the dependent and independent variables together through primary data taken directly from the respondents. With the number of respondents 30 postpartum mothers. Based on the results of this study, 18 people who breastfeed >8 times/day and 12 people who breastfeed <8 times/day. Respondents who initiated early breastfeeding were 19 people and those who did not initiate early breastfeeding were 11 people. Respondents whose nipples were normal were 15 people and 15 people were not. Respondents who experienced breast milk dam were 16 people and 14 people who did not. The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between the frequency of breastfeeding (Sig=0.011 <α0.05) and the state of the nipples (Sig=0.011 <α0.009) with the incidence of breast milk dams and there is no relationship between Early Initiation of Breastfeeding (IMD) and the incidence of dams. Breast milk (Sig=0,057 > 0.05) Abstrak. Introduction: In neonatal deaths, the WHO records an average of 18 neonatal deaths, maternal deaths in developing countries are related to pregnant women suffering from malnutrition such as KEK. Therefore, malnutrition in pregnant women must be avoided, making pregnant women a target group that requires special attention. There are countries experiencing KEK incidents in pregnant women that lead to maternal and child deaths, while Indonesia is one of the parameters for determining the nutritional status of pregnant women. Nutritional status greatly influences the growth and development of the fetus. Factors related to the nutritional status of pregnant women include maternal knowledge, maternal age, and economic status; these three aspects play a crucial role in meeting nutritional needs and making decisions related to nutritional status. Objective: This study aims to determine the relationship between nutritional status in pregnant women based on LILA (Upper Arm Circumference) measurements and birth weight. Method: This research uses a cross-sectional study approach. The population in this study consists of those who have given birth from 2021 to 2023 in the working area of Puskesmas Banggae 1. Sampling was conducted using the Total Sampling technique, with a sample size of 88 respondents. The instrument used for the independent and dependent variables was a checklist, specifically the Spearman Correlation test. Result: The Spearman Correlation test yielded a significance value of 0.000, less than 0.05, indicating a relationship. Conclusion: Thus, there is a relationship between Upper Arm Circumference and Birth Weight.

Introduction: Pregnancy is a critical period that greatly influences the health outcomes of both the mother and the fetus. Adequate maternal nutrition plays a crucial role in supporting fetal growth and development, preventing pregnancy complications, and reducing the risk of stunting. In addition to nutritional adequacy, early detection of danger signs during pregnancy is an important preventive measure to reduce maternal morbidity and mortality. However, limited knowledge among pregnant women and their families regarding balanced nutrition and pregnancy danger signs often leads to delays in seeking appropriate medical care. Therefore, educational interventions are needed to improve awareness and understanding of these issues. Objective: This community service activity aimed to improve the knowledge and awareness of pregnant women regarding balanced nutrition and the early detection of pregnancy danger signs in the working area of Lembang Public Health Center. Method: This activity was conducted through health education sessions involving lectures, interactive discussions, and question-and-answer sessions. Educational materials focused on balanced nutrition during pregnancy and the identification of pregnancy danger signs. The effectiveness of the education was evaluated using a pre-test and post-test to measure participants’ knowledge improvement. In addition, health screening was conducted, including hemoglobin examination, measurement of mid-upper arm circumference (MUAC), and blood pressure assessment to identify potential pregnancy risks. Result: The results showed a significant increase in participants’ knowledge regarding balanced nutrition, with average scores improving from 62% in the pre-test to 85% in the post-test. Understanding of pregnancy danger signs also increased from 58% to 88%. Furthermore, 90% of participants expressed commitment to regularly consuming iron tablets, and 85% were able to mention at least three pregnancy danger signs after the educational session. Screening results revealed that 20% of pregnant women were at risk of anemia, 15% had MUAC below 23.5 cm indicating risk of chronic energy deficiency, and two cases of hypertension were referred for further medical examination. Conclusion: The educational program on balanced nutrition and early detection of pregnancy danger signs was successfully implemented and resulted in improved knowledge and awareness among pregnant women. This activity contributes to strengthening promotive and preventive health efforts in improving maternal health outcomes and supporting safe pregnancies.

Posyandu for the elderly is a form of public health service that aims to improve the health and quality of life of the elderly. However, the utilization rate of Posyandu for the elderly is often not optimal. One of the influencing factors is family support. Family support is a form of assistance provided directly by the family to the elderly, including informational, emotional, instrumental, and appreciation. This study aims to determine the relationship between family support for the elderly and the utilization of Posyandu for the elderly. The design or method of this study uses an analytical survey design with a cross-sectional study method approach. The population in this study were elderly people who live in the Lembang Community Health Center Working Area with a sample of 80 respondents based on predetermined inclusion criteria. Data collection using questionnaires and observations. Univariate analysis is presented using a frequency distribution table while Bivariate analysis uses a chi-square test. The final result obtained a P value = 0.000 with a significant value of α = 0.005 through the Chi-square test. Since the P value <α, it is statistically concluded that there is a relationship between family support for the elderly and utilization of the Posyandu for the elderly in the Lembang Community Health Center work area. It is recommended that health workers be more active in providing education and motivation to elderly families regarding the importance of support in utilizing Posyandu for the elderly. Furthermore, health workers need to increase the socialization of Posyandu activities, conduct home visits for less active elderly people, and establish good communication with families so that they play a greater role in supporting elderly participation in Posyandu for the elderly.

Hypertensive disorders during pregnancy remain a major cause of maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality worldwide. Nutritional interventions, particularly calcium supplementation, have been widely explored as preventive strategies to reduce the incidence of pregnancy related hypertension and preeclampsia. This review aimed to examine the scientific evidence regarding the effectiveness of calcium supplementation in lowering the risk of hypertension among pregnant women and to identify factors associated with the development of hypertensive disorders during pregnancy. A literature review design was employed by analyzing thirty seven national and international scientific publications issued between 2019 and 2025. Relevant studies were identified through searches of PubMed, ScienceDirect, Google Scholar, and Garuda databases, and the findings were synthesized using descriptive analysis. The review demonstrated that calcium supplementation, either administered alone or in combination with vitamin D, contributed to blood pressure reduction and prevention of preeclampsia. In addition, previous hypertension, obesity, maternal age, psychological stress, exposure to cigarette smoke, and excessive salt intake were identified as important contributing factors. Supportive non pharmacological interventions and continuous antenatal monitoring and education were also found to improve blood pressure management during pregnancy. The integration of nutritional and non pharmacological approaches may provide an effective strategy for preventing hypertensive disorders in pregnancy.
