Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine how the organizational commitment, organizational climate, and transformational leadership of the principal affect teacher performance both directly and indirectly. This is a quantitative, explanatory study that uses testing hypotheses as its methodology. A total of 252 teachers comprised the research population, and 159 of them were selected through random selection techniques to serve as research samples. Questionnaires are used for data collecting, while descriptive analysis, multiple linear regression analysis, classical assumption tests, and path analysis are used for data analysis. The results of this research show that the variable regression value is a positive number, such as the regression coefficient of the principal's transformational leadership variable on the teacher performance variable (X1-Y) of 0.418, the regression coefficient of the principal's transformational leadership variable on the organizational commitment variable (X1-Z) of 0.335, The regression coefficient of the organizational climate variable on the teacher performance variable (X2-Y) is 0.179, the regression coefficient of the organizational climate variable on organizational commitment (X2-Z) is 0.637, the regression coefficient of the organizational commitment variable on the teacher performance variable (Z-Y) is 0.271, the regression coefficient the principal's transformational leadership through organizational commitment to teacher performance (X1-Z-Y) is 0.090 and the regression coefficient of organizational climate through organizational commitment to teacher performance (X2-Z-Y) is 0.172. The study's findings indicate that there is a strong direct relationship between the principal's transformational leadership variables, organizational climate, and organizational commitment, and that there is a strong indirect relationship between the principal's transformational leadership and organizational commitment, as well as a significant relationship between the organization's climate and organizational commitment and teacher performance.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the conflict management strategies employed by teachers in shaping students’ character at a high-performing elementary school located in a wetland area, specifically at a public elementary school in North Banjarmasin District. The research adopts a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, and were analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal three main strategies used by teachers in managing classroom conflicts: collaborative, compromising, and avoidance strategies. The collaborative strategy emerged as the dominant approach, as it fosters open communication and participatory problem-solving, which positively contributes to character development, particularly in the areas of responsibility, tolerance, and discipline. The compromising strategy is applied in addressing minor conflicts as a way to reach mutual agreements, while the avoidance strategy is used in certain situations to maintain classroom stability. These findings highlight that teachers’ skills in selecting and implementing appropriate conflict management strategies play a crucial role in supporting the success of character education, especially within the unique geographical and social challenges of wetland-based schools.

Abstract

Kurikulum modern menekankan pentingnya iklim sekolah yang aman, inklusif, dan relasional di samping capaian akademik. Namun, praktik disiplin retributif masih dominan serta kerap memperkuat eksklusi dan ketimpangan sosial, sehingga diperlukan alternatif yang lebih responsif. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pendekatan restoratif sebagai paradigma sistemik dalam penyelesaian masalah sekolah dan masyarakat. Penelitian ini menerapkan pendekatan kualitatif melalui kajian literatur. Data diperoleh lewat artikel jurnal yang sesuai dengan fokus kajian dan dianalisis menurut pola tematik. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa praktik seperti circles, konferensi restoratif, mediasi sebaya, dan whole-school restorative approach berkorelasi dengan penurunan suspensi dan eksklusi, perbaikan iklim sekolah, penguatan kompetensi sosial-emosional, serta peningkatan keterlibatan keluarga dan komunitas dalam penanganan konflik. Efektivitasnya bergantung pada integrasi sistemik ke dalam budaya sekolah, dukungan kebijakan, pelatihan berkelanjutan, dan reformasi struktural relasi kekuasaan antara sekolah, penegak hukum, dan warga. Dengan demikian, pendekatan restoratif berpotensi menjadi kerangka kebijakan dan praktik disiplin yang lebih adil dan partisipatif, serta sebagai strategi penguatan hubungan sekolah dan masyarakat yang berkelanjutan

Abstract

Organisasi siswa di sekolah memiliki peran penting dalam membentuk karakter, menanamkan nilai kepemimpinan, dan melatih tanggung jawab sosial peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan secara mendalam bagaimana sistem organisasi siswa, khususnya Organisasi Siswa Intra Madrasah (OSIM) dan Majelis Perwakilan Kelas (MPK), berkontribusi terhadap pengembangan karakter dan kepemimpinan di MTsN 2 Kota Banjarmasin. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif, melibatkan empat informan utama, yaitu Wakil Kepala Bidang Kesiswaan, Pembina OSIM, Ketua OSIM, dan Ketua MPK. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa OSIM dan MPK berfungsi sebagai wadah pembelajaran sosial dan kepemimpinan yang efektif, di mana siswa dilatih untuk bertanggung jawab, disiplin, serta mampu bekerja sama dalam kegiatan organisasi. Kendala utama yang dihadapi adalah kurangnya pemerataan partisipasi antaranggota dan keterbatasan komunikasi lintas bidang. Namun, evaluasi rutin dan pembinaan berkelanjutan mampu memperkuat efektivitas kegiatan organisasi. Kesimpulan penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa organisasi siswa di sekolah tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai pelengkap kegiatan akademik, tetapi juga sebagai instrumen strategis dalam pendidikan karakter dan demokrasi sekolah.

Abstract

Pengelolaan dan Administrasi tenaga pendidik merupakan hal yang sangat penting untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan di semua tingkat lembaga pendidikan. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji definisi, peran, serta penerapan pengelolaan dan administrasi tenaga pendidik dalam konteks institusi pendidikan masa kini. Pengelolaan tenaga pendidik melibatkan proses perencanaan, pengaturan, pelaksanaan, dan pengawasan semua aktivitas yang berhubungan dengan guru serta  staf pendidik lainnya. Di sisi lain, administrasi tenaga pendidik lebih menekankan pada kegiatan pencatatan, pengumpulan data, dan pengelolaan dokumen yang berkaitan dengan kepegawaian secara administratif. Kedua aspek ini saling terkait dalam membangun sistem kerja yang efisien, efektif, serta berorientasi pada peningkatan kinerja para pendidik. Dengan penerapan pengelolaan dan administrasi yang baik, institusi pendidikan dapat memaksimalkan potensi SDM, meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran, serta menumbuhkan budaya kerja yang profesional. Penelitian ini juga menekankan betapa pentingnya kepemimpinan kepala sekolah dalam mengelola tenaga pendidik dengan cara yang adil, transparan, dan berkelanjutan, termasuk dalam proses rekrutmen, penilaian kinerja, serta pengembangan kompetensi para guru. Dengan pendekatan manajerial yang terencana dan administrasi yang tertib, diharapkan akan tercipta sistem pendidikan yang responsif terhadap perubahan zaman dan kebutuhan peserta didik. Oleh karena itu, pengelolaan dan administrasi tenaga pendidik bukan saja merupakan kegiatan teknis, tetapi juga sebagai strategi signifikan dalam mewujudkan pendidikan yang berkualitas dan berdaya saing tinggi.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a strategic planning model for excellent elementary schools based on the wetland ecosystem in the North Banjarmasin District. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed at two high-performing public elementary schools. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis, and subsequently analyzed using an interactive model. The findings indicate that the characteristics of the wetland ecosystem—such as seasonal flooding, peatland, and infrastructure limitations—significantly impact the effectiveness of school strategic planning. Implementation still faces obstacles regarding curricula and facilities that are not yet fully adaptive to the environment. However, high community participation serves as a primary supporting factor in school development. This research produced a strategic planning model consisting of five key components: wetland-based strategic environmental analysis, environment-adaptive vision and mission formulation, contextual curriculum development, adaptive facilities management, and the strengthening of school-community partnerships. This model demonstrates that integrating ecological aspects into strategic planning can enhance the relevance, effectiveness, and sustainability of school management. Theoretically, this study enriches the field of educational management through an ecosystem-based approach, while practically, it provides a reference for schools and policymakers in designing contextual and adaptive strategic plans in wetland regions.
