Abstract

Biological facts have been mentioned in the Alquran, which was revealed over 1400 years ago and is proven correct by scientists today. This study focuses on implicit and explicit interpretations of human creation, biological development, and genetic concepts. By using a multidisciplinary approach that combines the maudhu'i method of interpretation, scientific and genetic approaches, as well as textual, intertextual, and contextual interpretation techniques. This study found a connection between Deoxyribo Nucleic Acid (DNA) and the Alquran that is implied in the concept of “nutfah”. The analysis shows that the Alquran mentions various fluids involved in the fertilization process, including sperm, poured fluid, hated fluid, and mixed fluid. This research emphasizes the role of Deoxyribo Nucleic Acid (DNA) as the “master key” that controls human physical and mental functions, and its interaction with the environment in activating certain genes. Deoxyribo Nucleic Acid (DNA) is understood as the “blueprint of life” that stores biological information and plays an important role in the transmission of hereditary traits.

Abstract

Quranic education is a crucial aspect of shaping the identity and values of Muslim societies. However, Muslim-majority countries face various challenges in providing high-quality Quranic education. This study aims to analyze the problems related to Quranic education in these countries. The research employed a qualitative method with a case study approach in several majority-Muslim countries. Data were collected through interviews with Quranic education experts, teachers, and students, as well as through document and literature analysis. All data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman's interactive analysis technique with NVivo 12 software. The research findings indicate that the challenges in Quranic education include the absence of legislation governing the Quranic teaching profession, limited availability of qualified teachers, low competence in instructional management, the fact that not all Quran teachers possess a bachelor's degree in Quranic education, insufficient professional development due to a lack of continuous training, the profession's lack of appeal to Islamic scholars because it does not promise a future career, and inadequate teacher compensation. The findings underscore the importance of implementing systematic and strategic improvements to enhance the quality of Quranic education.

Abstract

The development of the tahfizh program in schools has still not been completely successful in achieving targets many have failed. This research aims to analyze the implementation of the tahfizh program at the madrasah aliyah level in Indonesia. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data sources were taken from twelve informants through in-depth interviews, and they were selected using the snowball sampling technique. All informants are active teachers and students at madrasah aliyah for the 2023/2024 academic year. The results of the analysis show that i) planning for the tahfizh program at madrasah aliyah, such as a learning implementation plan, exists and is made at the beginning of each semester with the K13 curriculum type. ii) the implementation of the tahfizh program at madrasah aliyah is carried out once a week with a time allocation of two hours outside structured lesson hours. iii) evaluation of the implementation of the tahfizh program is carried out at the end of each semester and is only carried out by curriculum representatives and tahfizh teachers. The results of this research can be used as initial data for future researchers in studying this problem in different contexts and issues.
