Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relevance of Al-Farabi's thoughts in the development of competency-based Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in the Society 5.0 era. The research employs a qualitative approach with a literature review method, including an analysis of articles and books related to Al-Farabi's works and ideas, competency-based education, and the challenges faced by PAI in the digital era. The data analysis technique involves an in-depth examination of Al-Farabi's educational principles and their applications. The findings reveal that Al-Farabi's philosophy, which emphasizes the integration of knowledge, morality, and practical skills, is highly relevant in addressing the challenges of Society 5.0. This approach supports the development of a PAI curriculum that is adaptive to technological advancements while fostering a generation that is intellectually capable, morally grounded, and practically skilled to navigate the complexities of the digital era

Abstract

Generation Z students show challenges in emotional and psychomotor engagement in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning due to high digital distractions and low reflection of spiritual values. Mindful learning, which emphasizes full awareness in the learning process, is offered as a pedagogical strategy to overcome these problems. This study aims to analyze the application of mindful learning in increasing the emotional and psychomotor engagement of Gen Z in PAI learning. The method used is a literature study based on descriptive qualitative analysis of the theory and practice of mindful learning in the context of PAI material. The results of the study show that in the material on Etiquette in Using Social Media, mindful learning is effective in fostering ethical awareness through reflection of students' digital experiences. Meanwhile, in the material on Marriage in Islam, simulation activities and creative projects are able to generate meaningful psychomotor engagement. In conclusion, mindful learning is able to unite the cognitive, affective, and psychomotor dimensions in an integrated manner in PAI learning. The implications of this study lead to the need for teacher training in mindfulness strategies, development of reflection-based curriculum, and creation of learning spaces that support psychological safety and contextual spiritual practices. This approach opens up opportunities for a more relevant and in-depth transformation of religious education for today's digital generation.

Abstract

Krisis ekologi global mendorong perlunya pendekatan pendidikan Islam yang mengintegrasikan spiritualitas dengan kesadaran lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji konsep dan implementasi eco-pesantren sebagai model pendidikan ramah lingkungan berbasis spiritualitas Islam. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi pustaka dengan pendekatan deskriptif-analitis, melalui penelaahan literatur akademik yang relevan. Analisis dilakukan dengan teknik analisis isi dan validitas diperkuat melalui triangulasi sumber dan diskusi sejawat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa eco-pesantren merupakan model pendidikan yang menyatukan nilai-nilai keislaman seperti tauhid, amanah, dan ihsan dengan praktik ekologis dalam kehidupan pesantren. Nilai-nilai tersebut diinternalisasikan melalui kurikulum, keteladanan kiai, gaya hidup santri, serta program-program lingkungan seperti konservasi air, pertanian organik, dan pengelolaan sampah. Eco-pesantren tidak hanya membentuk santri yang saleh secara spiritual, tetapi juga bertanggung jawab sebagai khalifah fil ardh. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa spiritualitas Islam memiliki kekuatan transformatif dalam membangun kesadaran ekologis yang berkelanjutan. Dengan demikian, eco-pesantren berpotensi menjadi model pendidikan Islam yang transformatif dan relevan dalam menghadapi tantangan krisis lingkungan global.The global ecological crisis has prompted the need for an Islamic educational approach that integrates spirituality with environmental awareness. This study aims to examine the concept and implementation of eco-pesantren as an environmentally friendly educational model based on Islamic spirituality. The method used is a literature study with a descriptive-analytical approach, through a review of relevant academic literature. The analysis was carried out using content analysis and validity techniques that were strengthened through source triangulation and peer discussion. The results of the study indicate that eco-pesantren is an educational model that unites Islamic values such as tauhid, amanah, and ihsan with ecological practices in the life of the pesantren. These values are internalized through the curriculum, the exemplary behavior of the kiai, the lifestyle of the students, and environmental programs such as air conservation, organic farming, and waste management. Eco-pesantren not only forms students who are spiritually pious, but also responsible as khalifah fil ardh. This finding confirms that Islamic spirituality has a transformative power in building sustainable ecological awareness. Thus, environmentally friendly pesantren has the potential to become a transformative and relevant Islamic educational model in facing the challenges of the global environmental crisis.
