Abstract

The aim of this research is to obtain characteristic modeling for forward and reverse voltages and the role of oxide as a barrier in the contact between metal semiconductors. When a forward or reverse voltage is applied, both types of  semiconductor exhibit different characteristics. In this study, only these types are considered. The carrier concentration impurity within the semiconductor, width of the oxide material, depletion region, and active region are also reviewed.  The method used was to examine the concept of a metal – oxide – semiconductor contact. In addition, the basic concept of energy bands is used to explain carrier flow events in semiconductors, which present band gaps, conduction band levels, and valence energy levels. The first research result is the characteristics of a metal – oxide – semiconductor-type connection  when a negative and positive voltage  is applied to a metal plate. The second is to find an equation for determining the concentration of substrate impurities. This equation shows the concentration of impurities in the semiconductor and the width of the oxide material, depletion region, and active region.

Abstract

This study looks at how salt and solvent mix, as shown by the final positions of particles in a simulation. The simulation uses Lennard-Jones parameters and runs in a closed system with fixed energy. The goal is to see if the particles follow the Maxwell velocity distribution. When lithium hexafluorophosphate salt mixes with ethylene carbonate, solvation occurs. The simulation runs for 100 and 2000 steps to get accurate results. At the start, no chemical reactions or outside forces are involved just the natural movement of particles. For fluorine, after 2000 steps, the particles start to group in one area, showing the system isn’t balanced yet. Since velocity is linked to kinetic energy, it's important to look at the most common speeds of lithium, phosphorus (P), fluorine (F), and lithium-oxygen carbonyl (Li-OC). At 100 steps, the speed data looks good for lithium, phosphorus, and fluorine, except for how fluorine interacts with itself. So, the number of steps was increased to 2000. But even then, the particles don’t spread out fully, which isn’t realistic nature doesn’t leave space. That’s why the simulation should run up to 3000 steps for better, more realistic results.

Abstract

Abstract

The Acai River is a river that flows through densely populated areas, from households and salons to small industries such as tofu and tempeh factories. The community's waste disposal into the river pollutes the river. Studies and monitoring of river quality, especially in Indonesia, are still dominated by examining pollutant levels in river water. However, sediment is also important for in-depth study. This study aims to examine the spatial distribution of heavy metals in sediments in the Acai River located in the urban area of Jayapura, Papua Province. Sediment samples were taken from five locations representing areas with different anthropogenic activities, such as dense settlements, home industries, and small business areas. Then, the samples were dried by placing them in an oven at 100°C. Laboratory analysis was conducted to determine heavy metal levels using the XRF (X-ray Fluorescence) method. Results showed the highest Zn concentration reached 102.1 ppm in the downstream location, while Cr and Ni also showed significant accumulation at certain points. The distribution of heavy metal levels did not show a linear pattern along the river flow, indicating local contributions from human activities. These findings confirm that heavy metal pollution in urban rivers is more influenced by local inputs than by the river flow itself.
