Abstract

The application of letter board media can improve the ability to recognize letters in children in SLB-C. The ability to recognize letters is an important development in children that must be developed from an early age. The ability to recognize letters in question is saying letters, showing letters, connecting letters with pictures. In this observation, the observer uses a direct observation method focused on the interaction between the teacher and students as well as the teaching methods used in the classroom. Based on the results of observations, improving the ability to recognize letters in children at SLB C Karyasincere through the application of letter board media. This can be done by the teacher introducing the letter board media to the children, directly practicing the activities that will be carried out, using the letter board media in turns, the teacher asking the children to name various letters, and combining the letters into one word. The ability to recognize children's letters after using this media shows increased results.

Abstract

Pendidikan yang berkualitas sangat bergantung pada kualitas tenaga pengajar. Oleh karena itu, kompetensi guru menjadi salah satu faktor penting dalam meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan. Salah satu upaya untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru di Indonesia adalah melalui uji kompetensi yang diatur oleh pemerintah. Artikel ini membahas pentingnya uji kompetensi bagi guru, materi yang diuji dalam uji kompetensi, serta pelaksanaan uji kompetensi di Indonesia. Selain itu, artikel ini juga membahas Undang-Undang Sistem Pendidikan Nasional (Sisdiknas) dan peraturan pemerintah yang mengatur hak dan kewajiban guru. Dengan adanya uji kompetensi dan peraturan yang jelas, diharapkan kualitas pendidikan dapat terus meningkat dan guru dapat melaksanakan tugasnya secara profesional. Peningkatan kualitas pendidikan di Indonesia sangat erat kaitannya dengan kompetensi yang dimiliki oleh tenaga pendidik. Uji Kompetensi Guru (UKG) menjadi salah satu instrumen penting dalam memastikan bahwa guru memiliki kemampuan pedagogik, profesional, sosial, dan kepribadian yang memadai untuk menjalankan tugasnya secara optimal. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pelaksanaan uji kompetensi guru di Indonesia, tantangan yang dihadapi, serta peran regulasi seperti Undang-Undang Guru dan Dosen dalam mendukung peningkatan profesionalisme guru. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan analisis data sekunder dari berbagai regulasi pendidikan dan hasil studi terkait. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun UKG efektif dalam mengevaluasi kompetensi dasar guru, pelaksanaannya masih menghadapi hambatan seperti ketimpangan akses di wilayah terpencil, kurangnya kesiapan guru, serta fokus yang berlebihan pada tes tertulis.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an effective guidance and counseling (BK) program to improve elementary school students' social skills. Social skills, such as communication skills, cooperation, empathy, and conflict resolution, are important aspects in supporting students' academic success and psychosocial development. However, many students still face obstacles in mastering these skills. This study uses an Action Research approach with the Kemmis and McTaggart model which includes planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through observation, interviews, field notes, and open-ended questionnaires, and analyzed using a thematic qualitative approach. The program developed consists of basic services, responsive services, and system support, arranged in weekly modules for eight meetings. Implementation was carried out in two cycles in grade V of elementary school, with evaluation through observation of social skills attitudes during the implementation of the treatment. The results showed an average increase in students' social skills of 23%, with the communication and cooperation aspects experiencing the highest increase. These findings confirm the effectiveness of the BK program based on play and discussion activities in developing students' social skills. The participation of teachers and parents also plays an important role in the success of the program. This research contributes to the development of contextual and collaborative BK services at the elementary school level.
