Abstract

In this era of globalization and technological progress which is full of moral challenges, Aqidah Akhlak courses on campus are an important strategy for internalizing religious character values in students. Amidst the influence of instant culture and pragmatism, this religious education not only forms a spiritual foundation, but also strengthens the integrity and morality of the younger generation, making them ready to face the dynamics of modern life and compete positively in society. This research aims to provide a description of the strategy for internalizing religious character values through the Aqidah Akhlak course, including understanding, applying and living it, in order to form individuals with integrity and religious character at various levels of education, especially at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach and case study method. Data was obtained using observation methods, in-depth interviews, and document analysis, then analyzed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana interactive model which includes data reduction, data presentation, and then drawing conclusions. Research findings indicate that the strategy for internalizing religious character values through the Aqidah Akhlak course in higher education uses methods of modeling behavior, forming habits, applying rules, and providing motivation. This strategy forms students who are sincere, honest, disciplined, patient, and care about others, and are able to integrate religious values in academic and social life. The implications of this research emphasize the importance of a holistic approach in courses to build student character who is competitive and has integrity in the modern education era. Keywords: Internalization, Religious Character, Moral Creed

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the curriculum and evaluate the implementation of Arabic language learning and understand the various challenges at the Ora Aji Islamic Boarding School, Yogyakarta. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach. The selection of informants was carried out using purposive sampling, a data sampling technique that considers certain factors. The research instrument consists of in-depth interviews, document analysis, and observation. Data analysis uses the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The findings involve several aspects, including a lack of innovation and motivation in teaching Arabic, low effectiveness of Arabic language application, and a shortage of Human Resources (HR). Learning Arabic at Madrasah Aliyah (MA) has proven to be effective inside and outside the classroom (dormitory). It is recommended that Arabic language teaching not only be limited to the classroom, but also implemented in dormitories using the muhadasah method and delivering vocabulary for at least 1 day and 3 vocabularies (mufrodat). Even though the Ora Aji Islamic Boarding School tries to combine Salafi and modern teaching methods, the implementation of Arabic in classes and dormitories is still hampered. The importance of consistency and consequences for students who violate Arabic language rules shows that the Ora Aji Islamic Boarding School is still in the stage of development and adjustment to the characteristics of each student.

Abstract

Religious moderation is one of the teachings of Islam as stated in the Qur'an. It should be noted that moderation is a middle attitude without discrimination, intervention or one-sidedness which contains moderate, fair and balanced ideas in all aspects of life, whether religious, social, educational, cultural, and others. Moderate attitudes are important to instill in the nation's generation as early as possible. Given that Indonesia is a country whose society is plural and multicultural, it is not surprising that there are diverse differences. Moderate attitudes need to be instilled to maintain the integrity of relationships both individually, in groups and in the state. Recently, Indonesia has been bombarded with issues about religion, such as blasphemy, hate speech, discrimination of minority communities, extreme groups and others. With this, it certainly threatens the integrity and peace in Indonesia. An alternative path that can be used is through Islamic education. Islamic education is a relevant early solution to understand the meaning of tolerance, justice, harmony, balance and love of peace. This research will explain the meaning of religious moderation using descriptive qualitative methodology with library research studies sourced from books, journals and the Qur'an. The results of this study indicate that there is a development in terms of human character to become a moderate and reactive human being.

Abstract

The era of modernization is an era of change from traditional to advanced (modern), such as current conditions which cover various aspects, including education. In the modernization period, education focuses on developing students' character. This approach aims to form a good personality that is able to adapt to current developments, which is greatly influenced by the role of the teacher. This research aims to identify and describe the contribution of teachers in shaping student character in the era of modernization. The literature study method is used to collect data from various sources, such as journals and articles. Data analysis techniques involve reading and discussion to formulate information comprehensively. Research findings show that Islamic character education based on local wisdom is strengthened by the role of parents in teaching manners. The four foundations of character education include religious values, culture, environment and individual potential, with religious values as the main foundation. The moral message from Luqman Al-Hakim in Q.S. Luqman verses 12-19 highlight the urgency of guiding children's faith with monotheism from an early age, teaching them to be grateful to Allah and filial piety to their parents, educating children to do good deeds, teaching them to act virtuously and avoiding evil, and preparing children with noble morals and good manners in interacting. This message reflects the central role of Islamic education in shaping an individual's personality and morals, with a focus on the principles of monotheism and ubudiyah behavior.
