Abstract

The covid-19 pandemic has made a change in social life, especially for foreign students. It makes it difficult for foreign students to meet their closest people and the reduced intensity of social interactions can cause foreign students to feel lonely. This study aims to describe the experience of loneliness experienced by foreign students during the Covid-19 pandemic, the factors that influence loneliness, and how foreign students overcome loneliness. This research is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The data collection technique used a semi-structured interview method with descriptive data analysis. The research subjects were foreign students, aged 18-25 years who were selected using the snowball sampling technique. The results showed that the experience of the loneliness felt by the informants tended to appear only at certain times and not continuously. The experience of loneliness has had a positive impact (the formation of a more mature mindset, doing lots of positive things, and self-introspection) and a negative impact (having feelings such as sadness, feeling alienated and rejected by others, lack of self-confidence, boredom, and anger at others). The factor that causes loneliness is the lack of intimate social relationships. The strategy used to overcome loneliness is to do positive activities as a form of diversion from loneliness, such as running a hobby, opening social media, and communicating virtually with the closest people. This research can be used as a reference for society, especially students to be able to maintain emotional stability and do a lot of productive activities, considering the many negative impacts found when psychologically disturbed, in this case when experiencing loneliness. Pandemi Covid-19 membuat perubahan pada kehidupan sosial terutama mahasiswa rantau. Hal ini membuat mahasiswa rantau sulit untuk bertemu dengan orang terdekat, serta berkurangnya intensitas interaksi sosial yang dapat menyebabkan mahasiswa rantau mengalami kesepian. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengalaman kesepian yang dialami mahasiswa rantau selama pandemi Covid-19, faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi rasa kesepian, dan cara mahasiswa rantau mengatasi rasa kesepian. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian  kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan metode wawancara semi terstruktur dengan analisis data deskriptif. Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa rantau, berusia 18-25 tahun yang dipilih menggunakan teknik snowball sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pengalaman kesepian yang dirasakan informan cenderung muncul hanya diwaktu tertentu dan tidak terus-menerus. Pengalaman kesepian telah memberikan dampak positif (terbentuknya pola pikir yang lebih dewasa, banyak melakukan hal-hal positif serta intropeksi diri) dan dampak negatif (memiliki perasaan seperti kesedihan, rasa terasing dan penolakan oleh orang lain, kurangnya kepercayaan diri, kebosanan, dan kemarahan pada orang lain). Faktor yang menyebabkan kesepian adalah kurang intimnya hubungan sosial yang terjalin. Adapun strategi yang dilakukan untuk mengatasi kesepian adalah dengan melakukan kegiatan positif  sebagai bentuk pengalihan rasa kesepian, seperti menjalankan hobi, membuka sosial media, hingga melakukan komunikasi secara virtual bersama orang terdekat. Penelitian ini dapat dijadikan acuan bagi masyarakat khususnya mahasiswa agar mampu menjaga stabilitas emosi, banyak melakukan kegiatan produktif, mengingat banyaknya dampak negatif yang ditemukan ketika psikis terganggu, dalam hal ini ketika mengalami kesepian.

Abstract

Everyone desires happiness. Happiness can be achieved through many things, one of which is carrying out positive activities, namely almsgiving (philanthropy). Almsgiving itself must be done with complete self-awareness. Awareness that almsgiving comes from self-motivation to do something good. Therefore, self-awareness is an essential aspect of giving alms. This research aims to determine the relationship between alms (philanthropy) and self-awareness of happiness. This research method is a correlational quantitative method that uses the Alms Scale (philanthropy), Self-Awareness Scale, and Happiness Scale measuring instruments. The sample consisted of 155 people, with the criteria being active students at the Faculty of Psychology, ***, class 2019-2022. The sampling technique used is incidental sampling. The data analysis used was a multiple linear regression analysis using SPSS 23 for Windows. The results of the major hypothesis in this research show that there is a significant relationship between happiness and the alms (philanthropy) variable and the self-awareness variable sig 0.018 (P Value < 0.05), with an effective contribution of 7.5%. The results of the minor hypothesis show that there is a significant positive relationship between alms (philanthropy) and happiness with a correlation coefficient value of rxy = 0.213 with a minor hypothesis of 0.030 (Sig 2-tailed < 0.05) and an effective contribution of 4.2%. The minor hypothesis on the self-awareness variable shows that there is no significant positive relationship with the happiness variable of rxy=0.190 with a minor hypothesis of 0.053 (Sig 2-tailed <0.05) and an effective contribution of 3.3%. This research provides implications for individuals on how to achieve happiness through spiritual experiences from charity activities, especially for people in need.

Abstract

ABSTRAK                                                                                     Lembaga pemasyarakatan (lapas) memiliki peran strategis dalam pembinaan dan rehabilitasi warga binaan, termasuk perempuan. Namun, keterbatasan program yang mampu memenuhi kebutuhan psikologis, spiritual, dan keterampilan hidup warga binaan perempuan masih menjadi tantangan. Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pemberdayaan holistik bagi warga binaan perempuan di Rutan Kelas IIB Boyolali agar warga binaan dapat meningkatkan kapasitas psikologis dan kemandirian. Program disusun setelah melakukan koordinasi dengan mitra terkait permasalahan, solusi, dan menyusun rancangan kegiatan. Sasaran program diberikan kepada 10 warga binaan perempuan dan 2 staf kesatuan pengamanan rutan. Pelaksanaan kegiatan dilakukan dalam bentuk pelatihan keterampilan, psikoedukasi, dan konseling, sebanyak 16 sesi kegiatan. Pelatihan difokuskan pada manajemen diri dan kewirausahaan, sementara psikoedukasi mencakup kesehatan mental, spiritual, serta pengembangan dan kesadaran diri. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui observasi dan wawancara untuk melihat perubahan dalam aspek psikologis, sosial, dan keterampilan. Hasil menunjukkan adanya perubahan positif, termasuk pergeseran cara pandang terhadap masa depan, peningkatan kemampuan menyusun tujuan hidup melalui pendekatan SMART, serta keberanian mengekspresikan diri dalam sesi konseling. Selain itu, kualitas interaksi sosial meningkat melalui kerja kelompok dan terbentuknya dukungan emosional antar warga binaan. Kegiatan kewirausahaan juga meningkatkan keterampilan praktis, kepercayaan diri, dan membuka peluang ekonomi pasca-rutan. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa program pemberdayaan yang terintegrasi dapat berkontribusi dalam mendukung proses rehabilitasi dan mempersiapkan warga binaan perempuan untuk reintegrasi sosial secara lebih bermakna melalui peningkatan kapasitas psikologis dan kemandirian warga binaan.Kata kunci: Kapasitas Psikologis; Kemandirian; Warga Binaan Perempuan; Rehabilitasi; Rutan.ABSTRACTCorrectional institutions (prisons) play a strategic role in the development and rehabilitation of inmates, including women detainees. However, this is a challenge as there are limited available programs that meet the psychological, spiritual, and life skills needed by female inmates. This community service program aims to provide holistic empowerment for female prisoners at the Class IIB Boyolali Detention Center (Rutan Kelas IIB Boyolali), enabling them to increase their psychological capacity and independence. The program is prepared after coordinating with partners regarding problems, solutions, and preparing activity plans. The program targets 10 female inmates and 2 prison security unit staff. The implementation of activities was carried out in the form of skills training, psychoeducation and counseling, with 16 activity sessions. The training focuses on self-management and entrepreneurship, while psychoeducation covers mental health, spirituality, and self-development and awareness. Evaluation was conducted through observation and interviews to identify changes in psychological, social, and skills aspects. Results showed positive changes, including a shift in perspective on the future, an increased ability to develop life goals through the SMART approach, and increased self-expression during counseling sessions. Furthermore, the quality of social interactions improved through group work and the development of emotional support among inmates. Entrepreneurial activities also improved practical skills, self-confidence, and opened up economic opportunities after detention. These findings suggest that an integrated empowerment program can contribute to supporting the rehabilitation process and preparing female inmates for more meaningful social reintegration by enhancing the inmates' psychological capacity and independence. Keywords: Psychological Capacities; Autonomy; Female Inmates; Rehabilitation; Detention Centre.

Abstract

Birrul waalidain is part of the ethics of a Muslim, especially for the younger generation of Muslims to be devoted to parents. In the concept of Islam, respecting parents is the key to one's success in the stages of life. In addition, in the context of Javanese culture which also upholds the value of respect for parents, the practice of Birrul waalidain in Muslim teenagers is an interesting encounter between religious teachings and local culture. This study aims to determine the current attitude of Birrul waalidain among Javanese Muslim teenagers. The approach used is descriptive qualitative, with six informants selected by purposive sampling with the criteria of adolescents aged 13-20 years, Muslim, and domiciled in Java. The data collection method was conducted through semi-structured interviews, and data analysis was carried out in three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. As a result of this research, three themes emerged, namely Birrul waalidain's behavior, which was demonstrated by helping with housework, caring for, obeying, praying, making others proud, paying attention, and speaking softly. The next theme is Understanding the meaning of Birrul waalidain, which means making parents happy, obeying, helping, and praying. The final theme is the importance of Birrul waalidain, which is motivated by religious teachings, as an effort to repay kindness and maintain morals. These findings further implicate the importance of formal and informal early childhood Islamic Education to ensure a better social attitude in Javanese Muslim teenagers.

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance financial confidence and mental resilience among Indonesians in Japan through a mindful spending intervention that integrates financial literacy with emotional awareness. Mindful spending emphasizes conscious financial decision-making by aligning spending behavior with personal priorities and psychological well-being. The program was implemented through two online educational sessions and one face-to-face (F2F) workshop using a Brief Intervention Training approach. A total of 29 participants attended the online sessions, which covered the theoretical foundations of mindful spending, financial mental health, and contextual financial practices in Japan. Furthermore, 15 participants participated in the F2F workshop held at the Indonesian Mosque in Tokyo, where they engaged in scenario-based exercises involving promotional discounts, lifestyle spending, and competing financial priorities. Participants documented their responses and reflected on their decision-making processes during group discussions. Data were collected through post-program questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics and correlation analysis. The findings revealed high levels of mindful spending (M = 4.08), mental resilience (M = 4.06), and financial confidence (M = 4.04). Strong positive correlations were identified between mental resilience and financial confidence (r = .80), as well as between financial responsibility and financial confidence (r = .77). Overall, participants reported improved financial awareness and emotional regulation after the program. These results indicate that integrating financial literacy with psychological resilience through mindful spending is an effective approach to empowering the Indonesian diaspora in managing financial challenges abroad.

Abstract

AbstrakKerusakan lingkungan yang semakin meningkat menuntut peran strategis pendidikan dalam membentuk kesadaran dan perilaku peduli lingkungan. Program Sekolah Adiwiyata merupakan kebijakan nasional untuk mewujudkan budaya sekolah berwawasan lingkungan, namun implementasinya pada sekolah berbasis keagamaan masih menghadapi tantangan pada aspek literasi nilai, komitmen warga sekolah, dan kesiapan administratif. Artikel ini mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan program pengabdian masyarakat berbasis penguatan nilai Al-Islam dan Kemuhammadiyahan (AIK) dalam mendukung kesiapan SD Muhammadiyah Program Khusus Nogosari menuju Sekolah Adiwiyata. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada September–Desember 2025 menggunakan pendekatan community-based education melalui model participatory engagement dan capacity building dengan melibatkan 21 guru dan tenaga kependidikan. Program meliputi enam kegiatan utama: workshop etika lingkungan berbasis AIK, pelatihan penghijauan di lahan sempit, workshop penyuluhan Sekolah Adiwiyata, FGD strategi dan penyusunan dokumen pengajuan Adiwiyata, workshop motivasi guru penggerak lingkungan, serta pengadaan fasilitas Adiwiyata. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan peningkatan literasi lingkungan berbasis AIK dan pemahaman Program Adiwiyata, penguatan komitmen serta praktik perilaku ramah lingkungan secara terstruktur, dan tersusunnya dokumen awal pengajuan Adiwiyata tingkat kabupaten. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa integrasi nilai keagamaan dengan pendidikan lingkungan efektif dalam membangun kesadaran, motivasi, dan budaya sekolah peduli lingkungan. Kata kunci: sekolah adiwiyata; pendidikan lingkungan; al-islam dan kemuhammadiyahan; pengabdian masyarakat AbstractIncreasing environmental degradation demands the strategic role of education in fostering environmental awareness and pro-environmental behavior. The Adiwiyata School Program is a national policy aimed at developing environmentally oriented school cultures; however, its implementation in faith-based schools still faces challenges related to value literacy, stakeholder commitment, and administrative readiness. This article describes the implementation of a community service program based on strengthening Al-Islam and Kemuhammadiyahan (AIK) values to support the readiness of SD Muhammadiyah Program Khusus Nogosari toward becoming an Adiwiyata School. The program was conducted from September to December 2025 using a community-based education approach through participatory engagement and capacity-building models involving 21 teachers and educational staff. The program consisted of six main activities: an AIK-based environmental ethics workshop, limited-space greening training, an Adiwiyata program workshop, a focus group discussion on strategy and preparation of Adiwiyata submission documents, a motivation workshop for environmental teacher leaders, and the provision of Adiwiyata supporting facilities. The results indicate increased AIK-based environmental literacy and understanding of the Adiwiyata Program, strengthened commitment and structured environmentally friendly practices within the school, and the completion of initial documents for district-level Adiwiyata submission. These findings confirm that integrating religious values with environmental education effectively promotes awareness, motivation, and an environmentally responsible school culture. Keywords: adiwiyata school; environmental education; al-islam and kemuhammadiyahan; community service.
