Abstract

Kata kunci—Persepsi Harga, Kesadaran Hukum, Minat Beli, Buku Bajakan Abstract: The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of Perceived Price and Legal Awareness on purchase intention of pirated books among students of the Economics Faculty of Nahdlatul Ulama University Sidoarjo. This topic was chosen because of the issue of piracy in the academic and publishing industry in Indonesia. Students with all their literature needs are a vulnerable group involved in purchasing pirated books, especially with the advancement of e-commerce as a buying and selling transaction that makes it easier for students to access pirated books online. This can be a threat to authors and publishers with the loss of royalties from copyright and intellectual property which results in economic losses and reduced reputation from selling pirated books. The research method used in this study is quantitative with cross-sectional techniques and multiple regression analysis using SPSS software version 16.0 with a sample of 60 students of the Economics Faculty of Nahdlatul Ulama University Sidoarjo. The results showed that Legal Awareness has a significant effect on purchase intention, while Perceived Price does not show a significant effect partially. The implication of this research is the need to increase legal awareness and copyright education among students to reduce piracy practices. Future research is recommended to expand the scope of the sample and take the following factors. Keywords—Perceived Price, Legal Awareness, Purchase Intention, Pirated Books
