Abstract

Studi ini bertujuan menganalisis representasi nilai moderasi beragama dalam film Malcolm X karya Spike Lee pada platform streaming HBO Max tentang kehidupan seorang tokoh pergerakan muslim berkulit hitam di Amerika. Dengan menggunakan analisis Semiotika Roland Barthes, hasil studi ini menemukan 5 adegan pada film Malcolm X yang mengandung nilai moderasi beragama sesuai rumusan Kemenag tentang prinsip dalam moderasi beragama, seperti yang dinyatakan Menteri Agama Republik Indonesia, Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, bahwa secara umum moderasi beragama memiliki dua prinsip yakni adil dan berimbang, bersikap adil dan berimbang dalam memandang, menyikapi, dan mempraktikkan keseimbangan dalam keberagaman dalam beragama. Film Malcolm X ini merepresentasikan nilai moderasi beragama adil dan berimbang yang diselipkan pada dialog dan beberapa scene yang berisi perlawanan terhadap kekerasan, pelanggaran hak asasi manusia, dan masalah rasial. Penelitian ini diharapkan menjadi sebuah sudut pandang yang baru tentang bagaimana film populer dapat berfungsi sebagai media dakwah atau pendidikan untuk mempromosikan nilai-nilai moderasi beragama kepada masyarakat luas

Abstract

The Community Service Program (PkM) aims to introduce both the students of Madrasah Aliyah Nurul Qur'an Bendungrejo and the students to technology through the approach of producing content for YouTube podcasts. The PkM also aims to encourage the younger generation to be content producers in the digital era, not just consumers. This PkM is significant because, within the madrasah environment, previous activities have been focused on religious aspects, including limited extracurriculars such as the art of al banjari, khitobah, and qiroah. Hence, this PkM represents an innovative step. Using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, the PkM involves students in identifying problems, seeking solutions, learning, and producing content for YouTube podcasts. The results have shown an improvement in their ability to conceptualize, interact, communicate, and produce content for YouTube podcasts. The PkM successfully enhanced the students' creativity and broadened their insights into opportunities in the digital domain. Sustained efforts are needed to equip the younger generation with relevant competencies to face technological advancements and social changes. This PkM has made a positive contribution by complementing madrasah activities and promoting the increased utilization of technology among both the santri and students.

Abstract

Indonesia’s rich cultural and religious diversity offers a unique context to explore how traditional arts contribute to social harmony. This article examines the Wayang Potehi performance at the Hong San Kiong Temple in Gudo, Jombang, and its role in promoting religious moderation. It highlights how performing arts are an inclusive platform that celebrates cultural and religious diversity, fostering tolerance and coexistence. The Hong San Kiong Temple, as a center for religious and cultural activities, provides an ideal setting to observe the integration of traditional arts like Wayang Potehi in pluralistic societies. The research uses a qualitative approach, including participatory observation, interviews, and document analysis, to understand how religious moderation is reflected in the performances. Findings indicate that Wayang Potehi conveys messages of moderation through its themes and the interaction between performers and audiences. These performances emphasize inclusivity, tolerance, and respect for diverse cultures and religions. The Hong San Kiong Temple’s efforts to promote religious moderation through these arts highlight a positive initiative that brings together diverse communities. This article offers valuable insights into how traditional arts can foster religious moderation and underscores the potential of performing arts in religious spaces to bridge divides in multicultural societies.

Abstract

Abstract— This study explores the impact of hadrah as a means of Islamic propagation in enhancing the religious behavior of youth in Majlis Ta'lim Arafah Bojonggede, Bogor. Majlis Ta'lim Arafah Bojonggede is a regular activity of the local community, often conducted more frequently than special gatherings for Islamic students, with the main events usually held on Friday evenings and during major Islamic holidays. The implementation of hadrah as a means of Islamic propagation involves several concrete steps, such as integration into events, training and practice, Islamic content in hadrah, empowerment of youth, and evaluation. The impact of hadrah is evident in the increased enthusiasm for Islamic propagation, the positive psychological reception of messages, and its significance in shaping Islamic behavior. In the context of Edward L. Deci's theory of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, it is found that intrinsic motivation, stemming from internal satisfaction, and extrinsic motivation, stemming from external factors, mutually influence each other in enhancing engagement and Islamic behavior. In conclusion, hadrah as a means of Islamic propagation can significantly contribute to enhancing the religious behavior of youth, with intrinsic and extrinsic motivation playing a crucial role in this process. Abstract

Indonesia is known as a multicultural country that is rich with various tribes, religions and tastes. However, considering the abundant cultural, cultural and religious diversity throughout Indonesia, the Indonesian people have an urgent responsibility to strengthen the values ​​of tolerance and harmony between people. .Internalization of Religious Moderation Through the Munjungan Tradition. The first stage carried out was to determine the theme, namely the internalization of religious moderation through the munjungan tradition in the sawur village of Bulusari, with research objectives (1) the process of internalization of religious moderation, (1) supporting and inhibiting factors in the Munjungan tradition in Suwur Hamlet, Bulusari Village, District. Tarokan, Kab. Kediri. So this research uses a descriptive qualitative approach using social interaction theory to study it in depth. The research results show that the munjungan tradition has an important role in the process of internalizing various modes of moderation, namely respecting differences in beliefs, respecting religious plurality, attitudes of tolerance, building harmonious relationships and reducing conflict.

Abstract

Film is an effective medium for conveying a message. But not every message can be conveyed properly; therefore, it is necessary to formulate the research problem: (1) What is the meaning of the sign of the relationship between different religions from an Islamic perspective in the film Akhirat: A Love Story? This study uses a qualitative approach, with the method used being Roland Barthes' semiotic analysis of "the meaning of the relationship between different religions from an Islamic perspective in the film Akhirat: A Love Story by Jason Iskandar". In this study, Roland Barthes' theory is very relevant for interpreting the sign structure in the film Akhirat: A Love Story. Roland Barthes classifies significance in two stages, namely denotative meaning and connotative meaning. Roland Barthes also adds myth, which is the signifier and has the deepest meaning. Then the analysis in this film is focused on the relationship between different religions, which is the formulation of the problem in this study. From the results of the meaning of the sign structure contained in the film Akhirat: A Love Story, there are several scenes about the relationship between different religions. Then these aspects are analyzed from the perspective of the Islamic religion, with the aim that this research can provide knowledge about interfaith relations. Islam prohibits anyone who does this, which is supported by several arguments in the Qur'an and hadith. Keyword: Film, Interfaith Relations, Islamic Perspective

Abstract

Abstrak: Artikel ini mendeskripsikan pesan kemanusiaan yang terdapat dalam film “The Doughter Of War” karya Can Ulkay. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana tanda dan makna pesan kemanusiaan yang diceritakan dalam film tersebut. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan analisis semiotika Roland Barthes. Hasil penelitian ini menujukkan bahwa bentuk pesan kemanusiaan dalam film The Doughter Of War yakni berupa makna denotasi, konotasi, dan mitos. Makna denotasi yang terdapat pada film The Doughter Of War berupa rangkaian konflik serta solusi dari segala permasalahan yang datang saat Korea Selatan mendapat serangan dari Korea Utara hingga kisah Suleyman untuk menemukan Ayla. Makna konotasi yang terdapat pada beberapa adegan film yang sudah dianalisis di atas berupa adanya kasih sayang, perjuangan, pengorbanan, do’a, ikhtiar, tanggung jawab, tolong menolong, usaha, serta nasihat hidup, sehingga melahirkan mitos yang mengandung pesan-pesan positif, ataupun nasihat yang berhubungan dengan moralitas. Terdapat 13 adegan pada film The Doughter Of War yang mengandung pesan kemanusiaan yang diukur sesuai indikator kemanusiaan menurut Nurgiayantoro, yakni hubungan manusia dengan sesama manusia yang mencakup kasih sayang orang tua terhadap anak, persahabatan, tolong menolong, dan saling menasehati. Hubungan manusia dengan tuhannya yang mencakup ketaatan menjalankan perintahNya. Hubungan manusia dengan dirinya sendiri yang mencakup keharusan belajar untuk meningkatkan kualitas diri. Dan hubungan manusia dengan alam yang mencakup usaha untuk memperbaiki alam yang telah dirusak. Peneliti berargumen bahwa pesan kemanusiaan sangat perlu disampaikan melalui sebuah media guna menumbuhkan kesadaran masyarakat, mengingat saat ini banyak perilaku yang kurang memanusiakan manusia.

Abstract

Buya Yahya in a short time has received a lot of attention from the public in an effort to spread Islamic da'wah on YouTube social media through the Al-Bahjah TV channel. This is due to the way Buya Yahya speaks in his lectures which always sound and look interesting, the use of language that is easy to understand, his lectures which are not only consumed by the Indonesian public but also abroad. This research focuses on, the message of Buya Yahya's lecture "When Life's Exams Feel Tired" on the Al-Bahjah TV YouTube channel. The results of this study indicate that the message of Buya Yahya's lecture contained in the YouTube channel Al-Bahjah TV with the title "Ketika Ujian Hidup Terasa Melelahkan" is a message of aqidah including human faith in Allah. Moral messages include the behavior and character of a person in everyday life such as patience, forgiveness, open mindedness, always living in peace and not envying each other, being arrogant, fighting against each other, inciting one another. And the message of Shari'ah includes matters of worship and law. The researcher argues that the da'wah message is very relevant to the current conditions of development, because it is a message of vigilance regarding information that is circulating, because not all of it comes from the right sources.

Abstract

Da’wa, in general, is an activity of inviting or exhorting towards good deeds and abstaining from bad deeds, through preaching delivered by a religious teacher (kyai) during the study of the book Al-Kaba'ir. This direct preaching enhances the knowledge, understanding, and awareness of the students (santri) of Pondok Pesantren Nurul Ilmi Wal Fikri Tebuireng Jombang regarding the dangers of major sins, thereby encouraging their attitudes and behaviors to avoid committing major sins and developing a sense of consciousness within themselves. The aim of this research is to determine the correlation between the kyai's preaching in the study of the book Al-Kaba'ir and the level of consciousness among the students regarding the dangers of major sins at Nurul Ilmi Wal Fikri Tebuireng Jombang Islamic boarding school. This study employs a quantitative method, specifically correlational research. It can be concluded from this research that there is a significant, strong, and positive correlation between the kyai's preaching in the study of the book Al-Kaba'ir and the level of consciousness among the students regarding the dangers of major sins. This is evidenced by the assessments of the respondents (students of Pondok Pesantren Nurul Ilmi Wal Fikri Tebuireng Jombang). It is also supported by the results of the Spearman rank correlation test, which yielded a Sig value of 0.000 < 0.05. Therefore, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, and the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected, indicating that there is a correlation (relationship) between the kyai's preaching in the study of the book Al-Kaba'ir and the level of consciousness among the students regarding the dangers of major sins. The obtained correlation coefficient is 0.697.
