This research focused on the study on the development of teaching materials using the instructional media card with a picture in a book “Hanyu Tingli Jiaocheng” especially vocabulary as supporting the learning process. The choosing of appropriate learning media supported the teaching-learning process. The choosing of the media must be done carefully using many considerations to achieve the target of learning in facilitating the learners. This research was conducted on the Mandarin Listening I and II. Approproate teaching materials are needed to support teachers who teach this course. This study used qualitative research. The research was done in the Basic Class I and Basic Class II. Recently in the era of globalization, mastery of foreign languages is immensely needed. In addition to English, a foreign language that has been recognized as an international language is Chinese. Since 2014 Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ) has the Chinese Language Education Study Program (PSPBM UNJ) and in 2015 PSPBM UNJ began to involve native Chinese speaker teachers to teach Chinese speaking skills. Native speaker teachers are one of the influential factors in foreign language teaching and to determine the student's perception of them, especially in teaching Chinese speaking skills was the purpose of this study. This research was descriptive research with a survey method. The results showed that the perception of PSPBM UNJ students towards native Chinese-speaking teachers was generally positive. Students generally assumed that the teachers met the indicators contained in the pedagogical aspects, linguistic aspects, and socio-cultural aspects. Budaya Betawi Tionghoa sebagai bentuk upaya promosi budaya di DKI Jakarta. Keunikan budaya Betawi Tionghoa ini menjadi salah satu daya tarik pariwisata untuk terus digali. Percampuran etnis Betawi dan Tionghoa ini memiliki turunan budaya yang unik dan menarik untuk dilestarikan. Di beberapa daerah dengan perkampungan etnis budaya Betawi Tionghoa ini masih melestarikan budaya leluhur dari tanah kelahiran, seperti adat istiadat, pernikahan, dan juga kuliner percampuran masakan Betawi dan Cina. Sesuai dengan perkembangan teknologi kta dapat mengenal promosi budaya melalui Youtube sebagai wadah teknologi yang ada. Studi pustaka dan penelusuran melalui video yang diunggah melalui Youtube menjadi salah satu metode yang dilakukan. Semua data diperoleh dari hasil pendataan dari kanal Youtube menggunakan kata kunci serta dilakukan observasi. Temuan analisis dalam penelusuran video ini terdapat beberapa video budaya Betawi Tionghoa masih dapat dikembangkan dan hanya sedikit yang ada di tayangan kanal Youtube. Video budaya Betawi Tionghoa yang ada di Youtube ternyata masih didominasi dengan pencarian tradisi lisan Pantun pada budaya Palang Pintu, tetapi hanya sedikit yang membahas budaya Betawi Tionghoa

The use of applications for online distance learning is a solution that can be used by teachers and students for the implementation of learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. Courses in the Department of Chinese Language Education (PSPBM) are carried out synchronously and asynchronously by utilizing various of online applications that can assist online distance learning. This study aims to describe the usage and utilization of online applications for the Chinese Reading Skills Course in PSPBM, as well as the opinion of teachers and students regarding the use of the online applications. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Research data are collected through interviews and questionnaires. The respondents of this study are teachers and participants of Basic Chinese Reading Skills Course I-IV in semester 113-114 Academic Year of 2020/2021. The result of the study shows that online distance learning for Basic Chinese Reading Skills Course I-IV in PSPBM during the Covid-19 pandemic can be carried out well. The online applications which can help teachers and students during the learning process are Zoom, Google Classroom, WhatsApp, Wordwall, Quizizz, and Google Form. Although sometimes there are technical obstacles such as an internet network that is less stable and some applications require a lot of internet quota, there are no specific things that hinder the online distance learning process during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Technology trends have changed the educational paradigm, especially at the tertiary level. Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a way to change the learning process with the form of games in education, this will make education in higher education experience increased efficiency and effectiveness in learning. However, a deep understanding of how artificial intelligence can improve higher learning experiences and their impact after graduation is still limited. This research aims to investigate how artificial intelligence helps learning in higher education and its impact on students' career preparation after graduation. The focus is on analysis of the implementation of AI in teaching, learning, and decision-making support in higher education institutions. The research method used is literature study and content analysis. Data was collected from scientific articles, books, as well as related research reports on the use of artificial intelligence in higher education. The data is then analyzed to identify trends, benefits, and challenges associated with applying AI in educational contexts. Research results show that the use of artificial intelligence in higher education has increased the personalization of learning, increased knowledge retention, and facilitated more timely and accurate feedback. Additionally, AI also plays an important role in helping students develop skills relevant to the future job market. The conclusion of this research is that by integrating artificial intelligence into higher education, institutions can improve the quality of learning and help students be better prepared to face the challenges of an ever-changing job market. Background. The Direct Method has become an attractive approach in language learning, emphasising the use of the target language in communicative situations. However, the impact of the Direct Method on students' language comprehension, particularly in listening skills, still needs to be studied in depth. Purpose. This study aims to evaluate the effect of the Direct Method on students' language comprehension, focusing on listening skills in the context of English language learning. Method. A quantitative approach was used to analyse data from the listening comprehension scores of students who took the Direct Method. The research sample consisted of 100 students who took the Direct Method course. Results. The results showed that the Direct Method had a positive and significant influence on students' listening comprehension ability. Of the 100 students who took the course with the Direct Method, 85% showed a significant improvement in listening comprehension scores. Conclusion. In the context of English language learning, the Direct Method has great potential in improving students' listening comprehension. This approach provides an interesting and meaningful learning experience for students, allowing them to be actively involved in the learning process and improving their ability to understand and use the target language.

Keeping students engaged in teaching and learning activities is a very difficult task for teachers and schools. Changes in school systems are continuously changing the way students interact and engage in learning, forcing educators to explore resources and strategies to better support students. Educational technology helps educators meet today's needs and is an important resource for the learning process. Increased use of technology in learning environments can support and enhance student engagement. The emergence of collaborative platforms is a form of technological interest to support student engagement. The purpose of this research is to explore whether technology with collaborative platforms can support student involvement in the learning process. Through research on supporting student engagement through this technology-based collaboration platform, researchers hope that using technology-based collaboration platforms in learning can help students in the learning process. The method used in this research is a quantitative method. Researchers conducted a survey using a Google form consisting of 15 sentences related to the research title. The researchers found that supporting student engagement through technology-based collaborative platforms had a major impact on student engagement. The presence of a collaborative learning platform makes students more enthusiastic and excited. Students feel that with cooperation in the learning process, learning becomes more differentiated and attracts students' attention. The limitations of this research are that researchers only conduct research in schools and researchers do not conduct research directly in schools but share survey links on Google forms containing statements about supporting student engagement through technology-based collaborative platforms.

In developing reading skills teaching materials, it is necessary to have reading texts as support. These reading texts were chosen not only because of their vocabulary corresponds to the level of the teaching materials, but also because they are qualified reading texts. One of the criteria for a good reading text is that it contains moral values such as folklore books. This study has several objectives to find out the moral values contained in the story book Kuafu Zhui Ri namely: (1) contains the core form of Confucius' teachings of Ai ren, (2) shows the principles of implementing the teachings of Confucius of Xiaodi, (3) shows the stages of implementing the teachings of Confucius of Zhong and Shu. The data in this study are limited to Chinese sentences in stories that contain moral values. The entire data is classified based on the core form, the principle of implementation and the stages of implementing moral values according to the teachings of Confucius. The findings in this study are that the folklore of Kuafu Zhui Ri contains the moral values of Confucius' teachings, which consist of (1) loving others, (2) filial piety, and (3) loyalty and forgiveness. Based on the research findings, it is hoped that the Kuafu Zhui Ri folklore can be applied in the world of education and used as a reference or input by the UNJ Mandarin Language Education Study Program when choosing reading texts in the development of textbooks for reading skills.

Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) have emerged as a key tool for promoting lifelong learning and professional development in the digital age. As technology continues to evolve, individuals and professionals alike are seeking flexible, accessible educational opportunities to advance their skills and knowledge. MOOCs provide an affordable and scalable solution, allowing learners to engage with high-quality content from institutions worldwide. However, the effectiveness of MOOCs in supporting lifelong learning and professional growth remains underexplored. This study aims to evaluate the role of MOOCs in facilitating lifelong learning and enhancing professional development outcomes. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews with 300 participants who have completed MOOCs across various disciplines. The study focuses on participants’ motivations, experiences, and the perceived impact of MOOCs on their personal and professional growth. Data were analyzed using statistical techniques to identify patterns and thematic analysis to gain deeper insights into learner experiences. The results indicate that MOOCs play a significant role in promoting self-directed learning, with 80% of respondents reporting that MOOCs contributed to their personal knowledge and skill development. Additionally, 60% of participants highlighted that completing MOOCs led to career advancements or improved job performance. However, barriers such as completion rates and lack of personalized feedback remain challenges for maximizing the impact of MOOCs. In conclusion, MOOCs offer substantial benefits for lifelong learning and professional development, particularly in terms of accessibility and flexibility. To fully harness their potential, improvements in course design and support mechanisms are necessary to increase completion rates and learner engagement.

This research examines social media, which is a digital platform that provides various facilities for social activities, such as communicating or sharing content in the form of videos or photos. This research is motivated by the large number of social media that promote online Mandarin learning or provide knowledge related to Mandarin for free. So it needs to be studied to find out whether the use of social media can be beneficial in terms of enriching vocabulary, improving four Mandarin language skills, or other benefits. This research uses quantitative methods. The data collection technique in this research uses survey techniques via questionnaires. The results of this research show that many students use Instagram as a medium for learning Mandarin. Apart from that, students also mentioned that Instagram has many benefits in helping students' learning process. The conclusion is that Instagram media is widely used by respondents to help students learn Mandarin, because Instagram has many very useful features, which makes students interested in learning Mandarin using Instagram.
