Abstract

This research investigates amanah and justice as leadership management based on Tafsir al-Manar, an analysis of an-Nisa 58.  This verse emphasises the importance of fulfilling amanah and upholding justice as two fundamental principles in effective leadership and responsibility,  Muhammad Abduh and Muhammad Rasyid Ridha, in his work al-Manar, said that the concept encompasses broad responsibilities of moral and political aspects. Leaders are expected to entrust responsibilities to the right individuals who possess competence and skills, however, justice in this verse is also understood as a leader's obligation without discrimination in law and social context. Al-Manar, as a work of tafsir, is particularly significant because it focuses on social and political themes, aiming to establish a Muslim community connected to the modern era, and it is different from other tafsir such as al-Misbah, which focuses more on spirituality and morality. Furthermore, al-Manar has been claimed as most relevant in social and political themes in facing any challenges in the modern leadership context. This research attempted to conclude that amanah and justice as a concept of Islamic Fundamental Principles, can't be separated in fostering harmony and prosperity within society. In the modern era, both of these values are more relevant, especially in addressing leadership crises.  Amanah (responsibility) and justice are significant keys to developing a sustainable social order. Penelitian ini menganalisis konsep amanat dan keadilan dalam manajemen kepemimpinan berdasarkan penafsiran Tafsir Al-Manar terhadap QS. An-Nisa ayat 58. Ayat ini menegaskan pentingnya menunaikan amanat dan menegakkan keadilan sebagai dua prinsip utama dalam kepemimpinan yang efektif dan bertanggung jawab. Menurut Tafsir al-Manar yang dikembangkan oleh Muhammad Abduh dan Rasyid Rida, amanat mencakup tanggung jawab yang luas, mulai dari aspek moral hingga politik. Pemimpin diharapkan menyerahkan amanat kepada individu yang memiliki kompetensi dan integritas yang memadai. Selain itu, keadilan dalam ayat ini dipahami sebagai kewajiban pemimpin untuk bersikap objektif dalam setiap pengambilan keputusan, tanpa diskriminasi, baik dalam konteks hukum maupun sosial. Keunggulan Tafsir al-Manar terletak pada fokusnya yang lebih luas terhadap pembaharuan sosial dan politik. Tafsir ini berusaha mengembalikan umat Islam kepada nilai-nilai dasar agama yang berpadu dengan kemajuan ilmiah dan sosial, berbeda dengan tafsir lain seperti Tafsir al-Misbah, yang lebih menekankan aspek spiritualitas dan moral individu. Dengan demikian, Al-Manar lebih relevan dalam konteks reformasi sosial dan politik untuk mengatasi tantangan-tantangan seperti korupsi dan penyalahgunaan kekuasaan yang sering dihadapi dalam kepemimpinan modern. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa konsep amanat dan keadilan menurut Al-Manar merupakan fondasi kepemimpinan Islami yang tak terpisahkan dalam menciptakan masyarakat yang adil, harmonis, dan sejahtera. Dalam konteks modern, kedua nilai ini sangat relevan, terutama dalam menghadapi krisis kepemimpinan, korupsi, dan ketidakadilan. Amanat yang dijalankan dengan adil, serta keadilan yang ditegakkan oleh pemegang amanat yang berintegritas, adalah kunci untuk membangun tatanan sosial yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

The global environmental crisis increasingly demands the involvement of all sectors, including religious institutions. However, the role of mosques as agents of environmental da'wah in Indonesia remains underutilized, especially amid urbanization and low ecological literacy among Muslim communities. This study aims to examine and design mosque-based environmental da'wah programs as an integrative effort between Islamic values and ecological awareness. This research employs a qualitative approach using library research methods, analyzing classical and contemporary Islamic literature, public policy documents, and case studies of environmental da'wah practices in selected mosques. The findings reveal that mosques hold strategic potential as centers for ecological education through spiritual, educational, and participatory approaches. The proposed da'wah programs include thematic environmental sermons, educational mosque gardens, Friday clean-up movements, congregational waste banks, and training for environmentally conscious mosque administrators, supported by digital media outreach. These initiatives align with the Ministry of Religious Affairs' policy to mainstream environmental issues into religious activities. Environmental da'wah has proven effective in enhancing ecological spirituality, encouraging active community participation, and fostering socio-economic empowerment through mosque-based initiatives. [Krisis lingkungan global yang semakin mengkhawatirkan menuntut keterlibatan berbagai pihak, termasuk lembaga keagamaan. Namun, pemanfaatan masjid sebagai agen dakwah lingkungan di Indonesia masih belum optimal, terutama dalam konteks urbanisasi dan rendahnya literasi ekologi masyarakat Muslim. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji dan merancang program dakwah lingkungan berbasis masjid sebagai upaya integratif antara nilai-nilai Islam dan kesadaran ekologis. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan studi pustaka, melalui telaah literatur klasik dan kontemporer, kebijakan publik, serta studi kasus praktik dakwah lingkungan di sejumlah masjid. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa masjid memiliki potensi strategis sebagai pusat edukasi ekologis melalui pendekatan spiritual, edukatif, dan partisipatif. Program dakwah lingkungan yang dikembangkan mencakup khutbah tematik lingkungan, taman edukatif, gerakan Jumat bersih, bank sampah jamaah, serta pelatihan pengurus masjid yang ramah lingkungan dengan dukungan media digital. Program ini sejalan dengan kebijakan Kementerian Agama RI dalam mengarusutamakan isu pelestarian lingkungan ke dalam aktivitas keagamaan. Dakwah lingkungan terbukti mampu meningkatkan spiritualitas ekologis, partisipasi aktif jamaah, serta memberdayakan masyarakat secara sosial dan ekonomi berbasis komunitas masjid.]

Abstract

Drug abuse among adolescents is a pressing problem in Indonesia, with adverse impacts on the mental, spiritual and social health of users. This research explores the application of dakwah management integration in Islamic counselling guidance, specifically through prayer and dhikr, in improving the social skills of drug abusers at Yayasan Lentera Mutiara, Mataram. The research method used is descriptive qualitative, producing data in the form of written or spoken words from observation. The research was conducted at Yayasan Lentera Mutiara Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara, regarding the application of Islamic Counselling Guidance in drug abuse rehabilitation. Primary data was obtained from interviews with three clients (AS, JF, AN) who were inpatients for at least 3 months, and two counsellors with at least 2 years of experience. Secondary data includes written documents and actions. The results showed that Islamic counselling guidance through prayer and dhikr practices contributed significantly to the improvement of personality, more controlled social behaviour, good communication, and religious values of the clients. The programme creates a holistic rehabilitation approach that brings together spiritual and social aspects to help drug abusers undergo a comprehensive recovery process.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the transformation of da’wah methods through the integration of Virtual Reality (VR) journeys in enhancing religious understanding and spiritual experiences of the mad’u. The research addresses a gap in previous studies that mostly focus on conventional digital media such as social media and websites, without specifically exploring immersive technologies like VR. Employing a qualitative approach, this study is based on a synthesis of recent literature and in-depth interviews with digital da’wah practitioners, Islamic VR content creators, and users of religious-themed VR content. The findings reveal that VR holds a distinctive potential in delivering immersive, affective, and reflective religious experiences. Simulations of sacred spaces (e.g., Masjid al-Haram), Islamic historical events, and interactive narratives effectively evoke empathy, deepen the comprehension of Islamic values, and strengthen spiritual consciousness. Compared to conventional methods, VR offers a heightened sense of presence and emotional impact. This study contributes a novel perspective to the digital da’wah discourse by proposing VR journey integration as a transformative method aligned with the visual, interactive, and experiential nature of the digital generation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the da'wah management strategy of KH. Ahmad Dahlan in integrating Islamic principles with modern approaches in revitalizing Islamic education in Indonesia. The main issue addressed is the intellectual stagnation and backwardness of the Muslim community during the colonial era, exacerbated by a colonial education system that separated religious and secular sciences. To address this challenge, KH. Ahmad Dahlan developed a modern, structured da'wah strategy encompassing planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising stages. This research adopts a qualitative method with a descriptive-analytical approach, using literature review as the primary data collection technique. The findings reveal that KH. Ahmad Dahlan successfully established a da'wah model that went beyond traditional preaching by building an integrative education system. He unified the values of iman (faith/tauhid), Islam (syari’ah), and ihsan (spirituality and social ethics) into his da'wah practices. Education was positioned as the core of da'wah, with a curriculum that included moral, personal, and social development. Through the Muhammadiyah organization, he institutionalized a sustainable, structured, and professional da'wah model. The implications of this study suggest that KH. Ahmad Dahlan's da'wah management strategy is highly relevant for contemporary Islamic propagation in the digital and globalized era, offering a systematic, contextual, and value-based framework for effective da'wah. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi manajemen dakwah KH. Ahmad Dahlan dalam mengintegrasikan prinsip-prinsip Islam dan pendekatan modern dalam revitalisasi pendidikan Islam di Indonesia. Permasalahan utama dalam penelitian ini adalah stagnasi pemikiran dan keterbelakangan umat Islam pada masa kolonial, serta dominasi sistem pendidikan kolonial yang memisahkan antara ilmu agama dan ilmu umum. Untuk menjawab tantangan ini, KH. Ahmad Dahlan menggunakan strategi dakwah berbasis manajemen modern yang mencakup tahapan perencanaan, pengorganisasian, pelaksanaan, dan pengawasan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif-analitis, serta studi pustaka sebagai teknik pengumpulan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa KH. Ahmad Dahlan berhasil membentuk model dakwah yang tidak hanya fokus pada ceramah keagamaan, tetapi juga pada pembentukan sistem pendidikan yang integratif. Ia memadukan nilai-nilai iman (tauhid), Islam (syari’ah), dan ihsan (spiritualitas dan etika sosial) dalam pelaksanaan dakwah. Pendidikan dijadikan sebagai media utama dakwah, dengan kurikulum yang mencakup aspek moral, individu, dan kemasyarakatan. Melalui lembaga Muhammadiyah, ia menciptakan sistem dakwah yang profesional, terstruktur, dan berkelanjutan. Implikasi dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa model manajemen dakwah KH. Ahmad Dahlan sangat relevan untuk diadopsi dalam pengembangan dakwah Islam di era digital dan globalisasi, karena mampu menjawab tantangan kontemporer dengan pendekatan yang sistematis, kontekstual, dan berbasis nilai.
