Abstract

Leadership in the world of education plays a very vital role in creating a conducive learning environment, improving the quality of teaching, and ensuring the welfare of all parties involved, especially teachers. At Mekar Arum Bandung High School, the leadership transformation carried out by the principal and foundation aims to improve various important aspects, including school infrastructure, teacher professionalism and their welfare. Synergy between school principals and foundations is the main key in realizing this change. Leadership transformation in educational institutions plays a very important role in encouraging the creation of a conducive learning environment and improving the quality of education. Currently, the challenges faced by schools in Indonesia are increasingly complex. One of the main challenges is meeting the need for adequate facilities, both in terms of physical facilities and technology, to support 21st century learning. In addition, demands for teacher professionalism are increasing along with the development of the curriculum and the increasingly diverse needs of students. On the other hand, teacher welfare is often an issue that does not receive serious attention, even though this welfare has a direct impact on their motivation and performance.Mekar Arum Bandung High School is one of the schools that has great potential to develop through close collaboration between the principal as operational leader and the foundation as strategic policy holder. However, this leadership transformation process cannot be free from various obstacles, such as budget limitations, differences in vision between leaders, and the dynamics of the relationship between school principals and foundations. Therefore, good strategy and synergy are needed to ensure that leadership transformation can run effectively. This research aims to examine how the leadership transformation that exists between the principal and the foundation at Mekar Arum Bandung High School can contribute to improving school infrastructure, developing teacher professionalism, and improving the welfare of teaching staff. By understanding the existing dynamics and challenges, it is hoped that the results of this research can provide applicable recommendations to strengthen leadership synergy to achieve quality education goals.

Abstract

This research explores the role of educational management in promoting multiculturalism, democracy, and human rights within Indonesia’s education system. Motivated by the increasing need for character education in Indonesia, the study addresses the erosion of diversity values and mutual respect among students in educational and social settings. It focuses on integrating these educational values into the school curriculum, highlighting the pivotal role of educational management in facilitating this process. Using a qualitative approach, the research employs literature reviews and case studies to analyze the implementation of these principles in schools. The findings indicate that educational management plays a crucial role in integrating multicultural, democratic, and human rights values, fostering respect for diversity, justice, and equality among students. Additionally, continuous teacher training and support are identified as key to effectively implementing these values in the classroom. The implications emphasize the importance of embedding these values into the curriculum and teaching methods, ultimately preparing students to become empathetic, just, and globally-minded individuals. This research contributes to the understanding of how educational management can create a supportive environment that nurtures students’ moral values, ethical behavior, and respect for others, shaping future generations that embrace diversity and contribute to a harmonious society.

Abstract

The implementation of extracurricular education in Islamic boarding schools plays a strategic role in shaping students’ character and developing their potential beyond the scope of intramural learning. This study employed a qualitative descriptive approach with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation at Pondok Pesantren Minhajul Haq Purwakarta. Data were analyzed interactively through reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the extracurricular policy in this pesantren is designed to balance religious activities with the development of students’ interests and talents. Supervisors hold a central role in guiding programs and instilling values of discipline, responsibility, and collaboration. Academic activities such as the Math Club and Science Club enhance intellectual competence, while non-academic activities such as Pramuka, Tahfidz, and Archery nurture character, spirituality, and social skills. Challenges include limited human resources and facilities, whereas institutional support and supervisory commitment are key factors ensuring policy effectiveness. Overall, the implementation of extracurricular education policies at the pesantren contributes significantly to the development of students’ independence, leadership, and personal integrity

Abstract

This study examines the impact of sociocultural interactions in rural Indramayu on education perspectives, highlighting challenges and opportunities in accessing culturally relevant education. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed in three sub-districts: Kandanghaur, Gabus Wetan, and Bongas, where the majority of residents are farmers and fishermen. Findings suggest that local values, such as cooperation and harmony, influence perceptions of education as a means to enhance livelihoods beyond agriculture and fisheries. However, economic priorities often prevent children from pursuing higher education. Opportunities arise through local wisdom-based education, integrating practical skills and sustainable resource management. Globalization enhances access to knowledge and technology, but it also poses a threat to cultural preservation. This study highlights the importance of striking a balance between technological advancements and the preservation of local cultural values to foster sustainable rural development.
