Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) faces challenges in aligning learning materials with technological developments and global issues. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the use of learning videos in improving students' understanding of global issues. The research method used was a quantitative survey with a questionnaire involving 33 students in grades IX H and IX J. Data were collected through a closed questionnaire with a Likert scale as well as interviews with teachers to gain in-depth insights about the implementation of learning videos. Data analysis was carried out in a quantitative descriptive manner with percentages, as well as qualitative analysis to understand teachers' perceptions of the obstacles and benefits of using technology. The results showed that 96.9% of students found PAI interesting, 75.7% felt that the material was relevant to daily life, but only 36.4% of students stated that teachers often use learning videos. As many as 75.8% of students stated that globalization has an effect on their religious understanding, while 72.7% consider social media to help their understanding of Islam. However, 63.7% of students feel that outside culture can weaken their beliefs. In conclusion, the integration of learning videos in PAI improves student understanding, but its use is still limited. A more systematic strategy is needed, including the selection of relevant content, teacher mentoring, and interactive discussions so that learning is more effective and contextual in the digital era.

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools as traditional Islamic educational institutions have a strategic role in shaping the character of the young generation through the instillation of religious values, with the kiai as a central figure who plays a role as an educator and charismatic spiritual leader who influences the lives of students and the surrounding community. However, during the development of the era and the influence of modernization, the role of charismatic kiai faces new challenges that require adjustments in relevant leadership methods. This study aims to understand the characteristics of charismatic kiai leadership in Islamic boarding schools, identify factors that support the development of this leadership, and explore the strategies implemented by kiai in facing the challenges of modernizing Islamic boarding schools. Data were collected through direct observation, documentation studies, and in-depth interviews with kiai, staff, and students. The results of the study show that the characteristics of charismatic kiai leadership include exemplary behavior, simplicity, devotion to worship, humility, caring, wisdom, and persuasion. Factors that support the development of this leadership include collaboration and active involvement, open communication, development of professionalism, and adaptation to technology. The implementation of these findings includes strategies implemented by the kiai, namely the involvement of all parties in decision-making, integration of traditional values with modernity, encouraging innovation and critical thinking, strengthening networks and cooperation, and emphasizing morals and character. Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze effective strategies for improving the competency of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers through a continuous professional development program. PAI teacher competency plays a crucial role in shaping the character and religious values of students. However, challenges in implementing relevant development programs are still encountered, especially in the era of digital change and the demands of 21st-century education. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study method conducted at SMPN 1 Kadipaten, Tasikmalaya Regency. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation studies, which were then analyzed thematically. The results showed that effective competency development strategies at the research site included several main aspects, namely: (1) technology-based training for the creation of innovative teaching media; (2) collaboration between teachers through the Teacher Working Group (KKG) and Subject Teacher Consultation (MGMP) forums; (3) intensive coaching through academic supervision by the principal and supervisor; and (4) providing constructive and continuous feedback. The active involvement of the principal and support from the education supervisor proved to be key factors in creating an environment that supports continuous learning for PAI teachers. In conclusion, a planned and structured professional development program, as implemented at SMPN 1 Kadipaten, is able to significantly improve the pedagogical and professional competence of Islamic Education teachers.

Abstract

The halal bihalal tradition is one of the social customs that are widely practiced by Muslims in Indonesia after Eid al-Fitr. This activity is not only interpreted as forgiving each other, but also as a means to strengthen social relations and strengthen friendship. However, although halal bihalal has become an integral part of Indonesian culture, there are various perceptions regarding the suitability of this practice with the principles of Islamic law. This study aims to analyze halal bihalal from two views: tradition and sharia. Traditionally, halal bihalal is believed to be a moment to strengthen social relations between individuals, but in the aspect of sharia, it is necessary to examine the extent to which this activity is in accordance with Islamic teachings. This study uses a qualitative approach with literature studies and interviews as data collection methods. The results of the study show that although halal bihalal has positive social values, there are elements in this practice that need to be adjusted to the principles of Islamic law. This research provides an understanding of the relationship between Indonesian cultural traditions and Islamic religious teachings, as well as provides directions for the improvement of halal bihalal practices to be more in line with sharia values.
