Abstract

Students of State Islamic Junior High School (MTsN) Kepanjen find themselves difficult in understanding a chapter of straight line equation. The learning method used is considered to be text book oriented and being teacher centered learning. This research aims to increase students participatory and be more student centered learning. It used a new model of learning called Think Talk Write (TTW) along with passing out the hand out to students. This too attempts to have students understanding regarding a chapter of straight line equation.Type used was classroom action research and held on a eigth year students of MTsN Kepanjeng. Object of this research were students of class VIII-C and were divided into nine group, each one consists of four students. They were grouped based on their degree of ability ranging from high, moderate and low. Data collected was analysed using data reduction, presenting and drawing conclusion toward students test result, observation, interview and field notes. Teacher distributed hand out to students and they have been asked individually to read and think through the contents. The objective was to gain preliminary  nowledge. Afterwards, they worked in group to discuse the idea and concept as well as doing the assigments. Teacher as a facilitator brainstormed the concept and guide students to present it in front of class. By the end of the class, students and teacher have got together to make a conclusion of all. The result showed TTW along with the hand-out have able to improve students understanding over straight line equation. The final test showed the students grade of accomplishment has reached by 88,89%.

Abstract

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas Problem Based Learning terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif mahasiswa Program Studi Tadris Matematika UIN Mataram. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian eksperimen. Teknik pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan cluster random sampling. Populasi penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa semester 3 sebanyak 108 mahasiswa dengan sampel kelas IIIA sebanyak 26 mahasiswa sebagai kelas eksperimen, dan kelas IIIB sebanyak 24 mahasiswa sebagai kelas kontrol. Hasil post-test menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata kelas eksperimen sebesar 71,54 dan nilai rata-rata kelas kontrol sebesar 63,35. Analisis uji-t diperoleh thitung = 2,55 pada dk = n1+n2-2, 24+26-2 = 48 dan ttabel = 5%(t0,05; 48) = 1,95. Jadi pada dk = 48, thitung > ttabel yaitu 2,55 > 1,95. Hal ini berarti bahwa H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima, dengan kata lain model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning efektif terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif mahasiswa Program Studi Tadris Matematika UIN Mataram. Abstract:  This research aims to determine the effectiveness of Problem Based Learning on the creative thinking ability of students of Mathematics Education Program of UIN Mataram. The approach used is quantitative with the type of experimental research. The sampling technique was done by cluster random sampling. The population of this research is student of 3rd grade of 108 students with class IIIA sample as much as 26 students as experiment class, and class IIIB as many as 24 students as control class. Post-test results show that the average grade of the experimental class is 71,54 and the average value of the control class is 63,35. The t-test analysis is obtained t-count = 2,55 at dk = n1+n2-2, 24 + 26-2 = 48 and t-table = 5% (t0,05;48) = 1,95. So at dk = 48, t-count > t-table = 2,55 > 1,95. The conclusion is H0 rejected and Ha accepted, in other words Problem Based Learning is effective towards the creative thinking ability of students of Mathematics Education Program of UIN Mataram.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang identifikasi letak, penyebab dan kategori kesalahan yang dilakukan mahasiswa ketika mengerjakan soal Kalkulus Peubah Banyak dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif berjenis penelitian deskiptif terhadap mahasiswa kelas III-A Program Studi Tadris Matematika, UIN Mataram. Subyek penelitian dan wawancara terdiri dari 2 mahasiswa berkemampuan rendah, 2 mahasiswa berkemampuan sedang dan 2 mahasiswa berkemampuan tinggi. Identifikasi kesalahan mahasiswa dilakukan menggunakan Taksonomi SOLO (The Structure of the Observed Learning Outcome). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kesalahan yang dilakukan mahasiswa berada dalam kategori: 1) kesalahan konsep, dikarenakan mahasiswa melakukan kesalahan dalam menentukan batas integral dan kesalahan dalam mensubstitusikan batas integral, 2) kesalahan operasi, mahasiswa melakukan kesalahan dalam mengoperasikan bilangan ke fungsi integral, 3) kesalahan faktual, mahasiswa tidak bisa menjawab karena tidak memiliki kemampuan dalam memahami soal, dan 4) kesalahan prosedur, mahasiswa melakukan kesalahan dalam sistematika penyelesaian.

Abstract

This study focuses on the Islamic values applied in Mathematics instruction and provides an in-depth examination of how these values are integrated into Mathematics learning activities at MA Miftahul Ishlah. The research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design, using observation, interviews, and documentation as data collection techniques. The findings of this study indicate that MA Miftahul Ishlah incorporates Islamic values into its mathematics instruction. These values include gratitude, ethics and morals, and social values. The value of gratitude is fostered through the routine practice of group prayers, which helps cultivate students' sense of thankfulness in the learning process, particularly in relation to their academic achievements and learning motivation. Activities based on tasks and discoveries conducted by the teacher help shape student behaviors such as honesty, fairness, exemplary conduct, and responsibility. These behaviors are aligned with ethical and moral values, which have a significant impact on student learning outcomes. Similarly, social values are cultivated through peer tutoring activities, categorized as non-formal learning activities. This activity fosters a sense of care and mutual assistance among students. Additionally, Quranic verses and Islamic terminology/examples/illustrations are employed in mathematics instruction, particularly when the material relates to numerical literacy.

Abstract

Sebagian besar siswa masih menganggap matematika sebagai salah satu mata pelajaran yang paling sulit. Hasil belajar siswa yang buruk menjadi bukti kuat adanya permasalahan mendasar pada pembelajaran matematika yang salah satunya diakibatkan oleh lemahnya kemampuan berhitung siswa. MTsN-SA Sakra Barat menjadi salah satu sekolah dengan problematika operasi hitung bilangan yang cukup tinggi. Masih banyak ditemukan berbagai kesalahan terkait proses berhitung yang menyebabkan ketuntasan belajar yang dicapai masih belum memuaskan. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pembinaan mental aritmetika menggunakan sempoa bagi siswa kelas VII yang memiliki diagnosa kesulitan dalam melakukan operasi hitung bilangan. Kegiatan pengabdian menggunakan Service Learning Method yang dilakukan melalui 2 kegiatan, yaitu: pelatihan sebanyak 3 pertemuan dan pendampingan sebanyak 1 pertemuan. Hasil pengabdian melalui pemberian posttest menunjukkan bahwa dari 36 siswa yang mengikuti kegiatan, terdapat 27 siswa yang dapat menangkap atau menyerap materi yang diberikan dengan baik, sedangkan 9 siswa lainnya memerlukan pendampingan khusus untuk menciptakan pemberian materi yang lebih efektif dan efisien. Hasil pemberian angket menunjukkan bahwa tingkat relevansi kegiatan sebesar 90,56% (Sangat Baik), tingkat perhatian siswa sebesar 89,71% (Sangat baik), tingkat kepuasan siswa terhadap kegiatan sebesar 92,35% (Sangat Baik), dan tingkat kepercayaan diri siswa selama kegiatan sebesar 87,49% (Sangat Baik).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh kesiapan belajar dan prokrastinasi akademik terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa. Kesulitan dalam pembelajaran matematika umumnya disebabkan dari dalam diri siswa itu sendiri seperti kurangnya kesiapan belajar siswa dalam mengikuti proses pembelajaran serta tingginya tingkat prokrastinasi akademik yang pada akhirnya mempengaruhi hasil belajar matematika. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitaif dengan jenis ex-post facto. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berjumalh 127 siswa yang dipilih menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa angket untuk mengukur kesiapan belajar dan  prokrastinasi akademik, serta tes tulis yang digunakan untuk menilai hasil belajar matematika siswa. Data pada penelitian ini dianalisis menggunakan metode regresi linear berganda dengan bantuan aplikasi IBM SPSS versi 22.  Hasil uji prasyarat menunjukkan bahwa data memenuhi asumsi normalitas, tidak terjadi multikolinearitas dan heteroskedastisitas.  Uji F menunjukkan bahwa variabel kesiapan belajar dan prokrastinasi akademik secara simultan berpengaruh signifikan terhadap hasil belajar matematika dengan nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 < 0,05. Sementara itu secara parsial, kesiapan belajar memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan, sedangkan untuk variabel prokrastinasi akademik  menunjukkan pengaruh yang negatif dan signifikan terhadap hasil belajar matematika siswa. Nilai koefisien determinasi pada penelitian ini sebesar 0,146 menunjukkan bahwa kedua variabel tersebut menjelaskan 14,6% variasi hasil belajar matematika siswa, sedangkan 85,% sisanya dipengaruhi faktor lain yang tidak dibahas dalam penelitian ini.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa yang berdampak pada kesulitan dalam memahami dan menghubungkan konsep-konsep matematika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh model pembelajaran Discovery Learning dan tingkat resiliensi matematis terhadap kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan desain Quasi Experiment tipe Pretest dan Posttest Control Group Design. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 62 siswa kelas VIII SMP Cendekia NW Aiklomak yang dibagi menjadi kelas eksperimen dan kontrol. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes kemampuan koneksi matematis dan angket resiliensi matematis, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan Two-Way ANOVA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan signifikan kemampuan koneksi matematis antara siswa yang diajar dengan Discovery Learning dan metode konvensional (Sig. = 0,000 < 0,05). Selain itu, resiliensi matematis berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kemampuan koneksi matematis (Sig. = 0,000 < 0,05), di mana siswa dengan resiliensi tinggi memperoleh hasil lebih baik dibandingkan siswa dengan resiliensi sedang dan rendah. Namun, tidak ditemukan interaksi signifikan antara model pembelajaran dan resiliensi matematis (Sig. = 0,946 > 0,05). Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa penerapan Discovery Learning efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan koneksi matematis, serta resiliensi matematis merupakan faktor penting yang memengaruhi keberhasilan siswa.

Abstract

The low level of student understanding and the limited teaching materials that can link set theory with Islamic values are one of the main obstacles in mathematics learning at the madrasah level. This study aims to develop teaching materials in the form of modules and student worksheets (SW) based on an integrative-interconnected approach to address students' difficulties in understanding set concepts. This research is a research and development (R&D) study following the ADDIE model, with stages including initial analysis, prototype development, and product validation. The subjects of this study were junior high school students. Data were collected through document analysis, questionnaires, and tests, and analyzed using descriptive quantitative methods. Validation results indicated that the instructional materials had a high level of feasibility, both in terms of content and media. Students' responses to the modules and worksheets were categorized as good to very good, and classical learning achievement showed a significant improvement. These findings indicate that the developed teaching materials are effective in improving students' understanding of set theory. The implications of this study suggest that the integrative-interconnected approach can serve as an alternative strategy for developing contextual teaching materials relevant to religious values.

Abstract

One important indicator for evaluating the well-being and standard of living of people in a certain area is the life expectancy index. The goal of this study is to model the life expectancy in the Province of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). The number of impoverished individuals, adjusted per capita spending, and the average number of years of education are the independent variables used. The data comprised a panel from 10 districts/cities in NTB for the year 2019–2023, obtained from BPS-Statistics NTB Province. The applied analytical method was spatial panel regression, utilizing queen contiguity and a customized weighted matrix based on transportation routes. According to the analysis, a) the spatial autoregressive panel model (SARFEM) was chosen as the model to study life expectancy in NTB; b) life expectancy in one region is directly impacted by life expectancy in adjacent regions; and c) a region's life expectancy is significantly impacted by its mean years of education and adjusted per capita expenditure, both of which can raise life expectancy in nearby regions. This link underscores the necessity of enacting policies that prioritize advancements in education and economic conditions in a particular location, while also taking into account the wider geographical context, to promote general well-being and life expectancy in adjacent regions.
