Abstract

This study aims to compare the quality of 4G and 5G networks, focusing on download/upload speeds and key parameters such as RSRP, RSRQ, throughput, latency, and packet loss. Based on literature review, 5G outperforms 4G significantly in speed and efficiency. Telkomsel’s 5G throughput is 1453.25 kbps and XL’s is 1319 kbps (both “good” by TIPHON). Packet loss rates are low: 1.65% (Telkomsel) and 1.575% (XL), “excellent” by standard. In contrast, 4G networks show variable quality and higher instability. This highlights the need for infrastructure enhancement in 5G expansion.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology has emphasized the critical role of data communication in enhancing organizational efficiency and connectivity. At the heart of this transformation lies the fundamental principles of wave physics, particularly electromagnetic and optical waves, which serve as the backbone for both wired and wireless communication networks. This study explores the theoretical foundation and practical application of wave physics in modern networking technologies such as Wi-Fi, fiber optics, and 5G systems. Utilizing a descriptive qualitative approach through literature review, the research identifies how characteristics such as frequency, wavelength, and propagation behavior directly influence data transmission performance. Key findings indicate that the effective implementation of electromagnetic wave-based communication relies not only on technological innovation, such as beamforming and MIMO, but also on an in-depth understanding of environmental influences and wave behavior. Ultimately, this study underscores the indispensable role of wave physics in the continuous evolution of digital communication infrastructure.

Abstract

Students' understanding of the concept of motion of objects on inclined planes still shows obstacles, especially when applied in real practice. This study aims to see the extent to which students understand the concept through simple experiments and questionnaires. The main focus of the study was on the results of the practicum, where the block slid faster on a smooth plane (an average of 1.25 seconds) than on a rough plane (an average of 1.61 seconds). This time difference reflects the effect of friction on the motion of objects, but some students were unable to explain the difference correctly. This indicates that there are still misconceptions in understanding the concepts of force and motion. Meanwhile, the results of the questionnaire only reinforced that most students felt the need for direct practice to understand this material. Thus, a practice-based learning approach is very important to strengthen students' conceptual understanding in Basic Physics courses.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji secara komprehensif tingkat pemahaman mahasiswa terhadap konsep kinematika dan dinamika, yang merupakan pilar utama dalam pembelajaran fisika dasar. Melalui pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif, angket tertutup disebarkan kepada 25 mahasiswa lintas program studi. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa hanya 32% responden yang benar-benar memahami materi gaya gesek, menjadikannya topik dengan tingkat pemahaman tertinggi. Sebaliknya, sebesar 68% mahasiswa mengalami kesulitan serius dalam menerapkan rumus-rumus fisika, yang mencerminkan lemahnya keterkaitan antara konsep teoritis dan praktik numerik. Ketidakpahaman juga dominan pada topik momentum dan impuls (48%) serta dinamika rotasi (28%). Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa kesenjangan konsep tidak hanya berasal dari minimnya penguasaan matematika, tetapi juga dari kurangnya strategi pengajaran yang kontekstual dan representatif secara visual. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan transformasi dalam metode pembelajaran fisika yang lebih terintegrasi, partisipatif, dan relevan dengan pengalaman nyata mahasiswa agar pemahaman konseptual dapat meningkat secara signifikan.

Abstract

This study examines user awareness of the influence of smartphone screen brightness on battery power consumption. Of the 80 respondents, 100% answered "No" to the question of using the battery monitoring app, indicating the low utilization of power efficiency features. Conversely, on the question of whether high brightness drains the battery quickly, 0% who answered "No", signifying full awareness of the negative impact of high brightness. Practical tests support this finding: battery consumption rises from 3% (20% brightness) to 7% (100% brightness) in 30 minutes. The results show high awareness, but adequate efficient action has not been followed.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine how study time affects test scores. A total of 64 students from various colleges and majors were given questionnaires to complete in order to collect data using a quantitative approach. The relationship between study time and exam scores was investigated using linear regression analysis. The findings show that study time and exam scores are significantly positively correlated, with students who spend more time studying often earning higher grades. The results of this study provide valuable information for teachers and students to create successful teaching and learning techniques. It is hoped that this study will form the basis for future research into the variables that influence academic success.

Abstract

The development of information technology has brought fundamental changes in the communication patterns of generation Z, especially in the city of Medan, North Sumatra. This generation is known as digital natives who are highly dependent on technological devices and the internet in their daily communication. Various digital platforms such as social media, instant messaging applications, and online forums are their main means of establishing social interactions. This study aims to analyze the influence of information technology on the communication patterns of generation Z in the city of Medan, by highlighting aspects of changes in communication style, effectiveness of message delivery, and the social impact of the use of information technology in their lives. The method used in this study is a quantitative method with data collection techniques through Google Form (GForm). The questionnaire was distributed online to respondents who were generation Z domiciled in the city of Medan. The data collected was then analyzed to see the patterns of information technology use in their communication, preferences for the digital platforms used, and the positive and negative impacts they felt. The results showed that the majority of respondents preferred text-based and multimedia communication compared to direct communication, for reasons of convenience, time efficiency, and flexibility in communicating. The findings of this study indicate that although information technology has made communication easier, there are also challenges that arise, such as reduced face-to-face communication capabilities and increased risk of miscommunication due to different interpretations of messages. Therefore, a balance is needed in the use of information technology so that generation Z can maintain effective communication quality, both in the digital world and direct social interactions. By understanding communication patterns, society and policy makers can be wiser in designing digital literacy strategies that support healthier and more productive communication.

Abstract

The results of this study aim to investigate the significant impact of electric currents on the magnetic fields surrounding a straight wire conducting current. This phenomenon is a result of the relationship between electric current and magnetic fields, making it a primary focus of scientific research in the field of physics. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative, with a thorough analysis of the magnetic effects produced by copper wire applied to iron nails. This study found that the intensity of the magnetic field is very high when the number of copper wire turns reaches 20 turns, resulting in an increase in the attracted nails to 10 nails. This shows that the addition of the number of turns affects the magnetic strength in influencing ferromagnetic objects. This research provides a clear depiction of the relationship between electric current and magnetic fields.

Abstract

Abstract. The Islamic Interbank Money Market (PUAS) plays a crucial role in maintaining national monetary stability by facilitating short-term liquidity transactions among Islamic banks under sharia principles. This study aims to analyze the operational mechanisms of PUAS, its contribution to the transmission of Bank Indonesia’s monetary policy, and the challenges faced within the dual banking system framework. The research employs a descriptive quantitative approach using secondary data from PUAS reports, national inflation statistics, and publications from Bank Syariah Indonesia (2020–2024). Findings indicate a significant rise in PUAS transaction volumes, reflecting growing liquidity needs among Islamic banks amidst inflationary trends and Bank Indonesia's policy rate adjustments. By utilizing contracts such as wadiah and mudharabah, PUAS serves as a sharia-compliant alternative to conventional liquidity instruments and strengthens the inclusiveness and resilience of the Islamic financial system against economic shocks. Abstract

The This study uses a descriptive statistical approach to analyze the level of student satisfaction with campus facilities at the State Islamic University of North Sumatra. Data were obtained through an online questionnaire using a simple random sampling method with 36 respondents. The questionnaire covered four categories of facilities: general, technology and accessibility, academic support, and campus and infrastructure. The analysis involved calculating percentage, probability, mathematical expectation, variance, and standard deviation. The results showed that library comfort had the highest satisfaction score (expected = 4.06), while the Wi-Fi connection had the lowest score (expected = 3.06, deviation = 1.39), indicating dissatisfaction and an uneven perception. Other aspects, such as academic guidance by lecturers (expectation = 3.86), toilet facilities (expectation = 3.83), and laboratories (expectation = 3.72), showed good satisfaction levels. These findings provide a strong basis for the campus to improve low-scoring areas and maintain areas that meet student expectations.
