Abstract

Community service conducted at Alhusniyah Integrated Islamic Junior High School found that Quran literacy is very important to improve students' understanding of Islamic values. This community service aims to provide experience to students of Field Experience Practice of Islamic Education Management study program. This community service uses the Participatory Action Learning System (PALS) method to improve students' knowledge of the Quran, such as letters, tajwid, and other aspects. This community service identifies four stages, namely First, identifying students who do not understand the Quran, ensuring they understand the text. Second is implementing the program, ensuring students understand the Quran and can apply it according to the knowledge that has been determined. Third, evaluating the program using formative and summative methods. Fourth is developing a program based on the evaluation results. From the results of the community service, it can be concluded that the use of the PALS methodology in the Quran literacy program has a positive impact on students' religious character, this allows them to understand the Quran with correct tajwid and good waqf, as well as discipline and responsibility for their obligations.

Abstract

Violations of the law committed by various groups, including political elites and law enforcers, indicate low legal awareness and practice of religious values in society. This community service aims to build legal awareness and religious understanding for female Correctional Inmates (WBP) at the Class IIA Tembilahan Correctional Institution, Indragiri Hilir, Riau. The method used is Participatory Action Research (PAR) with an approach of observation, interviews, lectures, and worship practices. Activities are carried out every Friday for one year (January–December 2024), covering religious material (Al-Quran, tauhid, fiqh, morals) and law (criminal sanctions, legal awareness). The results of the community service show an increase in WBP's understanding of religion in worship practices such as prayer and thaharah, as well as a growing awareness of the legal consequences of the crimes they commit. However, the ability to read the Qur'an has not fully reached the target. This activity also has a positive psychological impact, such as regret for mistakes and determination not to repeat violations. The implication is that holistic assistance based on religion and law can be an effective model in fostering prisoners for better social reintegration.

Abstract

This paper describes education in Saudi Arabia and how education in Saudi Arabia compares with education in Indonesia. The method used is a literature study. The education system implemented in Saudi Arabia certainly has differences from the education system implemented in Indonesia. For example, the education system in Saudi Arabia puts forward Islamic values because Saudi Arabia is a country that highly upholds syar'i values. Although Indonesia has not implemented an Islamic education system as a whole, Islamic values are still taught in schools. Regarding the curriculum, Saudi Arabia adopts the curriculum from other Arab countries such as Egypt and always develops the existing curriculum so that it doesn't change too much. This is different from Indonesia, which changes the curriculum quite often so that sometimes educators find it difficult to adapt to the new curriculum. These are some of the examples presented in this article. But the most important thing is that both Saudi Arabia and Indonesia always strive to achieve their educational goals, namely to prepare a virtuous and skilled generation in the effort to develop a better nation because education is the most powerful weapon to change the world.

Abstract

This service is carried out to increase understanding of religion and the practice of Islam in the coastal communities of the Indragiri Hilir river, Tembilahan Kota Village, Tembilahan District, Indragiri Hilir Regency. The service method uses the Participatory Action Learning System (PALS) method, a method that emphasizes the activeness and participation of partners in the learning process in the form of prayer practices, reading the Koran and its application in daily life. The results of the service show that there is an increase in understanding and practice of the partner's religion. This can be seen from the increase in mastery of reading and the practice of the five daily prayers, the ability to read the Koran and the enthusiasm of partners in seeking work that is approved by Allah through agriculture. To empower communities affected by prostitution, there needs to be synergy between the government and ulama or intellectuals to empower partners to get out of this dark world. Empowerment is not only in the form of material such as social service programs in the form of the Family Planning Program (PKH), programs from education services such as the Smart Indonesia Card (KIP), health services such as the Healthy Indonesia Card (KIS) but is also supported by local government policies through localization closures. , and from the Ministry of Religion and Intellectual Services to make it easier for partners to get out of their dark zones.
