Abstract

This study explores the moral values embedded in the plays "Harut dan Marut" by Ali Ahmad Bakatsir and "Malaikat Tersesat dan Termos Ajaib" by R.J. Mardjuki through a semiotic analysis based on Roland Barthes' theory. The research aims to uncover the moral messages conveyed in both scripts, emphasizing the contrasting portrayals of angels and human experiences. The findings indicate that "Harut dan Marut" focuses on the repercussions of disobedience to divine commands, illustrating the gravity of sin and repentance. In contrast, "Malaikat Tersesat" adopts a satirical tone, highlighting the absurdities of human existence and the challenges faced by Adam and Eva. By employing a comparative literature framework, this study enhances the understanding of the moral implications present in these works, demonstrating the role of literature in imparting ethical lessons and fostering moral awareness within society.

Abstract

This research is categorized as library research, as it addresses the elements of rhetoric in the dialogue between parents and children. Based on this research, the researcher developed two formulations: What are the verses in the Qur'an that contain dialogue between parents and children, and how to describe the types of rhetorical elements found in the dialogue between parents and children. Based on this formulation, the researcher found the most dialogues, but the researcher discovered four dialogues between fathers and their sons, namely: Noah's dialogue with his son, Jacob's dialogue with his son, Luqman's dialogue with his son, and Abraham's dialogue with his son. Some rhetorical elements were found, by understanding the arts of statement, semantics, and badiya within these dialogues.

Abstract

This research was important as it addressed the controversial issue of online marriage and divorce from an Islamic legal perspective, a topic that became increasingly relevant with the state's consideration of digitizing marital administration. The aim of this study was to analyze whether online marriage and divorce fulfilled the legal and religious requirements in Islam and how the three major Islamic institutions in Indonesia—Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), Muhammadiyah, and the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI)—responded to this practice based on their respective methods of ijtihad. This research employed a qualitative method with a literature-based approach, analyzing fatwas, scholarly texts, and relevant legal sources. The findings revealed distinct differences in perspective: NU considered online marriage invalid due to non-fulfillment of essential conditions such as the requirement of being in one physical assembly, while Muhammadiyah allowed online marriage if all pillars and conditions were fulfilled, including uninterrupted ijab and qabul. MUI adopted a moderate stance, recognizing online marriage under specific conditions including government recognition. In terms of divorce, NU and MUI considered it valid outside the court under certain circumstances, whereas Muhammadiyah required it to go through the court system.

Abstract

This study aims to critically examine the forms of mispronunciation of Qur’anic letters from the aspects of makhārij al-ḥurūf (points of articulation) and ṣifāt al-ḥurūf (characteristics of the letters). It also explores in greater depth the factors that cause these problems to occur, as well as the solutions applied to minimize mistakes in Qur’an recitation. The method employed is a descriptive qualitative method based on a phonological approach with a focus on articulatory phonology. The data source of this study is the Qur’an recitations of participants in the tahsin Qur’an study circle (ḥalaqah) at Rumah Tartil Qur’an Maisuuro. The findings show that the majority of participants frequently make errors in pronouncing isti‘lā’ letters (emphatic letters), such as qāf (ق), ṣād (ص), and others. Occasionally, they also mispronounce light letters, such as ‘ain (ع), rā’ (ر), and so on. Other common phonological mistakes include lengthening or shortening sounds incorrectly, substituting letters or vowels, adding or omitting letters, and similar errors. These mispronunciations are influenced by factors related to the learners themselves, their parents, and their teachers. Therefore, all close stakeholders must be actively involved in the Qur’an learning process at RTQ Maisuuro in order to produce both quality and quantity in Qur’an recitation.

Abstract

This study explores the intersection between religion and science through the lens of conspiracy theory, specifically by examining the thoughts of Karl Popper and Ibn Rushd. Employing a qualitative method through literature review and philosophical-historical analysis, the research delves into the epistemological frameworks of both thinkers. The findings reveal that Karl Popper criticizes conspiracy theories as pseudoscience lacking falsifiability, while Ibn Rushd promotes the reconciliation of reason and revelation as a path to harmonize science and religion. This article identifies that external factors—such as political interests, cultural narratives, and media influence—often catalyze the conflict rather than inherent contradictions between religion and science. The novelty of this research lies in its interdisciplinary approach combining Western and Islamic philosophical perspectives to address contemporary sociocultural challenges. The study suggests that rational education and philosophical dialogue should be prioritized in shaping policies that aim to reduce societal polarization and promote constructive engagement between religious and scientific communities.
