Abstract

Penyuluhan peningkatan sistem perkandangan di Desa Krandon, Kecamatan Kesesi, Kabupaten Pekalongan, Jawa Tengah. Kegiatan ini menargetkan 20 peternak ternak kecil-menengah (ayam, kambing, sapi) untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan praktik perkandangan yang berkelanjutan, berfokus pada peningkatan produktivitas dan kesejahteraan ternak serta peternak. Metode penyuluhan meliputi penyampaian materi terstruktur dengan alat peraga visual (gambar, diagram, video, demonstrasi model kandang), simulasi desain kandang, diskusi kelompok terfokus (FGD) interaktif, dan distribusi panduan praktis. Evaluasi pra dan pasca-penyuluhan menggunakan kuesioner dan observasi lapangan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan (p<0.05) dalam pemahaman peserta tentang ventilasi, pencahayaan, kebersihan, manajemen kotoran, dan manajemen penyakit. Sebanyak 88% peserta menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman tentang prinsip-prinsip desain kandang yang baik, dan 75% menyatakan komitmen untuk memperbaiki sistem perkandangan mereka. Analisis lebih lanjut mengungkap korelasi positif antara penerapan praktik perkandangan yang baik dengan peningkatan produktivitas ternak, yang didukung oleh temuan pengabdian sebelumnya. Studi tindak lanjut selama satu bulan pasca-penyuluhan menunjukkan peningkatan rata-rata produksi telur sebesar 15%, produksi susu 10%, dan penurunan angka kematian ternak sebesar 20%. Jurnal ini merekomendasikan pelatihan lanjutan yang lebih teknis, pendampingan intensif dan berkelanjutan, serta kolaborasi dengan pemerintah dan lembaga swasta untuk keberlanjutan program peningkatan kesejahteraan peternak di Desa Krandon.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of environmental temperature on feed intake and performance in broiler chickens. The study was conducted using 200 Cobb 500 broiler chickens divided into four temperature treatment groups: P1 (gradual temperature decrease from 32-34°C to 20-24°C), P2 (stable temperature at 28-30°C), P3 (natural temperature fluctuations), and P0 (control). The parameters measured included feed intake, weight gain, and feed conversion ratio (FCR) of broiler chickens. The results showed that temperature significantly affected (p<0.05) feed intake, weight gain, and FCR. The conclusion of this study is the importance of stable broiler house temperature management to optimize broiler chicken productivity. This study recommends the application of climate control technology and feed formula adjustments as thermal stress mitigation strategies, particularly in tropical regions with high daily temperature variations.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of temperature on broiler chicken production. This study was conducted at the Dryland Lab, Faculty of Animal Husbandry, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Nusa Cendana University. The study was conducted for 28 days, divided into 1 week of adjustment and 3 weeks of data collection. The DOC chickens used were 1 week old with the CP 707 strain with a total of 100 chickens. The feed used was CP 11 and CP 12 feed. This study was an experimental study using a completely randomized design (CRD). This study consisted of 4 treatments and 5 replications with a total of 20 plots. Each plot contained 5 chickens. Treatments included T1 = Cage temperature 30-30.5°C, T2 = Cage temperature 32-32.5°C, T3 = Cage temperature 34-34.5°C, T4 = Cage temperature 36-36.5°C. The variables were feed consumption, PBB, FCR, and drinking water consumption. The data analysis used Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and, if significant (P<0.05), was followed by Duncan's test. Statistical results showed that different cage temperatures significantly (P<0.05) affected feed consumption, PBB, and FCR, but not significantly (P>0.05) on drinking water consumption. It can be concluded that different temperatures affect broiler chicken perfomance.
