Abstract

Abstract

study aims to examine the effectiveness of teaching materials ‘Misi BangDat’ based on Problem-Based Learning (PBL) in improving the understanding of mathematical concepts of elementary school students on the material of flat buildings. The research design used pre-experimental method with one-group pretest-posttest. The research sample consisted of 24 grade II students in one of the elementary schools in West Bandung Regency. The results showed an increase in the average score of students' understanding of mathematical concepts from 57.29 (pretest) to 82.29 (posttest). N-Gain analysis showed a score of 80.87%, which is in the high category, proving that this teaching material is effective. The implementation of PBL-based teaching materials helps students understand concepts interactively and contextually, improve critical thinking skills, and facilitate understanding of abstract mathematics material. This study recommends the use of ‘Misi BangDat’ teaching materials as an innovative solution to improve mathematics learning at the primary school level.

Abstract

This article addresses the importance of teachers’ understanding of students’ thinking mechanisms as the basis for implementing deep learning in elementary schools. In Garut Regency, Indonesia, many teachers still rely on conventional teaching methods, leading to passive learning and low student engagement. To respond to this challenge, a community service program (PkM) was designed to enhance teachers’ competence through the application of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). The program employed a hybrid model, including online conceptual sessions on NLP and deep learning as well as offline workshops, collaborative practices, and classroom simulations. Participants consisted of elementary school teachers from various districts in Garut, selected based on their commitment to implementation. Data were collected through pre-test and post-test instruments and perception surveys. The results indicated a significant improvement in teachers’ ability to identify students’ learning modalities, apply NLP techniques and design mindful, meaningful, and joyful learning experiences. Teachers also reported positive perceptions of NLP as a tool to foster inclusivity, motivation, and social-emotional development in classrooms. In conclusion, the program effectively strengthened teachers’ pedagogical competence and demonstrated the potential of NLP as an innovative approach to improve the quality of elementary education in Indonesia.

Abstract

Differentiated learning is a learning approach that focuses on openness and freedom for students to meet their learning needs by providing different needs, interests and learning styles to students. Differentiated learning should be applied in all subjects in elementary schools, including Pancasila Education learning. The purpose of this study is to determine the extent of the development of differentiated learning in Pancasila Education subjects in elementary schools. This study is a literature review using the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-analyses) method. The results of the study indicate that there have been many studies with similar topics, especially in elementary schools.

Abstract

Twenty-first-century learning requires teachers not only to develop students’ cognitive competencies but also to cultivate character values as the foundation for shaping a moral, adaptive, and competitive generation. This study aims to describe elementary school teachers’ strategies in instilling character values within 21st-century learning. The research employed a descriptive qualitative methodwith data collected through in-depth interviews with elementary school teachers. The findings show that teachers implemented various integrative and contextual strategies, such as role modeling, projectbased learning, the integration of character values into all subjects, and the reinforcement of positive cultural habits in the school environment. The character values developed include religiosity, discipline, responsibility, honesty, cooperation, creativity, independence, environmental awareness, patriotism, andtolerance. Teachers designed learning activities by preparing lesson plans or teaching modules that contain character values, linking them to the Pancasila Student Profile, and applying authentic assessments. Technology was also utilized through educational videos, animations, and characterbased educational games. The study also identified several challenges, including the negative influenceof social media, limited parental supervision, teachers’ administrative workload, and difficulties in measuring character development. Overall, instilling character education in the digital era requires innovative and collaborative strategies, technological support, and continuous enhancement of teacher competencies.
