Abstract

Vibration is a back-and-forth movement in a certain time interval that produces waves in a medium. Vibration can occur on a small or large scale. So on a small scale, a vibration sensor is needed to detect certain phenomena such as vibrations of engine capacity and detected pressure. On a large scale, vibration sensors can be used to detect earthquakes and other major phenomena and design a real-time vibration detection system for long distances, so vibration sensor components, controllers, and radio systems are needed. Therefore, researchers made a simple vibration detector using the experimental method. This final project aims to design, realize, and test the characteristics of the MPU 5060 accelerometer vibration sensor that is connected wirelessly. The characteristics of the sensor are tested against the magnitude of the vibration source, the distance of the vibration source, the placement medium, and the detection period. After testing the tool 10 times, it can be concluded that this simple vibration detector functions well and the highest average load results are obtained, namely in the 1-kilogram load test with a value of 1.93026 and the lowest average results are in the ceramic load test with a value of 0.651357.

Abstract

Saus tomat adalah produk olahan yang umum digunakan sebagai penyedap dalam berbagai hidangan makanan. Selain memberikan rasa khas, tomat juga merupakan sumber vitamin dan mineral yang meliputi vitamin C, Vitamin B, Vitamin E, dan provitamin A karoten. Dalam proses pembuatannya, saus tomat membutuhkan pengental untuk mencapai tekstur yang diinginkan. Di sisi lain, labu kuning adalah salah satu komoditas pertanian yang memiliki potensi besar untuk dibudidayakan di Indonesia, dengan peningkatan produksi yang signifikan dari tahun ke tahun. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk melakukan inovasi dalam pembuatan saus tomat dengan memanfaatkan tepung labu kuning sebagai bahan pengental alami. Metode eksperimen digunakan dalam Kegiatan ini, yang melibatkan produksi saus tomat dengan pengental yang berasal dari tepung labu kuning. Hasil Kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa tepung labu kuning memiliki warna kuning keoren yang khas. Saus tomat yang dihasilkan memiliki tekstur yang kental dan memuaskan selera para panelis yang terlibat dalam uji sensori. Saus tomat dengan pengental tepung labu kuning ini menawarkan alternatif menarik dalam produksi produk saus tomat yang sehat dan berbahan alami. Potensi penggunaan bahan alami ini dapat memberikan nilai tambah dalam industri makanan dan minuman, sekaligus mempromosikan pemanfaatan sumber daya lokal seperti labu kuning. Dengan demikian, Kegiatan ini berpotensi untuk memajukan industri makanan dan pertanian di Indonesia.

Abstract

Traffic Steering is an additional technique applied to network traffic especially when filtering, modification, or optimization is required. Network operators usually use traffic steering to expand the value of VAS or value-added service (value-added service that refers to additional services (content) based on existing telecommunication networks). This technique is applied so that the use of traffic from a link can be directed according to the client's needs and further maximize the functional use of the link itself. In general, the implementation of traffic steering is built based on three concepts, namely: NAT (Network Address Translation), Firewall RAW, and IP Routes. In this Traffic Steering implementation, the DSTNAT chain feature on the NAT firewall is used to direct access with the destination that has been set to a specific web server.

Abstract

The need for practical drinking water has become an alternative choice for every human being. Practical drinking water is currently packaged with plactic materials that  comply with applicable standards and are known as Packaged drinking water (Air Minum Dalam Kemasan/AMDK). Companies that produce AMDK must comply with applicable standards, such as mineral water standards (SNI.3553:2015) and quality management syatem standards (ISO.001:2015). One of the AMDK companies in Padang city, namely PT Makmur Bersama Sahabat (PT.MBS). Based on the data above, the PKM ATI Polytechnic Padang team chose PT.MBS as a partner in the activity PKM at 2024. The main objective of the PKM activity is to share science and technology (IPTEK) with PT.MBS employees. Base on the results of the pre-test and post-test, information was obtained that in general the level of understanding and implementation of the ISO.9001:2015  quality management system was in the ‘Very Good” and “Good” categories. This was proven during the discussion, PKM participants asked realistic questions in accordance with the problems they face everi day in their work situations.

Abstract

LTE (Long Term Evolution) is a fourth-generation wireless communication technology that is currently under development, necessitating the use of efficient antennas. This research focuses on the design and realization of a Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) microstrip antenna operating at a frequency of 2.4 GHz, which is essential for LTE applications. The MIMO technique employs multiple antennas on both the transmitter and receiver sides, aiming for a correlation coefficient below 0.2 to enhance communication quality and channel capacity without requiring additional bandwidth. The antenna design was simulated using CST Studio Suite 2019 software, followed by fabrication. The simulation results indicated a return loss of -25.411 dB, a Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR) of 1.113, a gain of 6.464 dBi, an omnidirectional radiation pattern, and a bandwidth of 20 MHz. Upon fabrication, the measured return loss was -18.071 dB, with a VSWR of 1.285 and an increased bandwidth of 50 MHz. The results demonstrate that the designed antenna meets the necessary specifications for LTE applications, confirming its suitability for practical use in modern wireless communication systems.

Abstract

Technological developments in the field of automation provide opportunities to improve efficiency and comfort in the operation of electronic devices. This research aims to design and implement an automatic cooling system on a laptop that uses an Arduino Nano-based DS18B20 temperature sensor. The system is designed to automatically regulate the laptop temperature by monitoring the temperature in real-time, and activating the cooling fan through a relay when the temperature reaches 33°C or more. This research method includes hardware design that involves the use of Arduino Nano as a microcontroller, a DS18B20 temperature sensor to detect temperature changes, and a relay to control the cooling fan. The software was developed using the Arduino programming language (C++) to process the data from the sensors and manage the work of the cooling system automatically. The test results show that the system can accurately detect the laptop temperature and respond in real-time by turning on the cooling fan when the temperature exceeds the 33°C limit. The system proved to be effective in preventing overheating, keeping the device temperature within safe limits, and optimizing power consumption by turning off the fan when the temperature returns to stable.

Abstract

The partners involved in this PKM activity are farming communities in Nagari Matur Mudik, Nagari Lawang and Nagari Tigo Balai, Matur District, Agam, Regency West Sumatera. Most of the people of Nagari Matur Mudik, Kec. Thanks, Kab. Agam has a livelihood as a farmer. The Community Partnership Program aims to increase the economic value of agricultural commodities in Nagari Matur Mudik, Nagari Lawang and Nagari Tigo Balai, Matur District, Agam Regency. Sales of agricultural raw materials are still constrained in the distribution/sales process which is only limited to traditional markets. Efforts are being made through the processing of agricultural raw materials into delicious and nutritious products, as well as having competent selling points in the market. The methods used in this program are counselling and training methods. This program works with the PKK team and the farming community as partners in the centre for processing agricultural products into food products for the trading community. The flow of activities includes the preparatory stage in the form of observations to related offices/agencies. Then the implementation stage, namely counselling and training for the community in Matur District, which is centered at the Nagari Matur Mudik Village office, Nagari Lawang and Nagari Tigo Balai. With direct participation by the community, the result was the community already understand about knowledge given so it is hoped that new and creative ideas will emerge by the community in processing agricultural products so that this program can be sustainable as a concrete effort to continue to improve the economy of the local community.

Abstract

The activity of washing hands is still done manually, especially in public places. Few people also wash their hands using water, soap, and tissue excessively to clean their hands. Therefore, the author created a series of automatic hand sanitizer designs using an Arduino-based infrared sensor consisting of three main parts: a water tap, soap, and dryer. This tool works by detecting the hands to be cleaned using an infrared sensor connected to a supporting device. The design of this tool is made to facilitate hand-washing activities to be more practical and hygienic. Based on the test results, it can be concluded that the device that has been made can work well as expected.

Abstract

Humans depend on sunlight for the need to dry clothes, but changes in the dry season and rainy season are now unpredictable, resulting in clothes that are dried not being able to dry perfectly, and causing bacteria to grow on the clothes. Especially for baby clothes, where the baby's body is still sensitive, and babies who wear a lot of clothes. This study aims to dry and sterilize baby clothes automatically using the DHT22 sensor. This study created a Smart cabinet for drying baby clothes consisting of making hardware including Arduino Uno, Bulb Lamps, UV Lamps, DHT22 Sensors, Fans, Relays, Buzzers, and LCDs, and Arduino Uno software is used as the controller center of this tool. After several experiments, all components in this system were able to work according to the objectives of the study. This study can help housewives dry and sterilize clothes, especially baby clothes automatically.
