Abstract

The Prophet Muhammad's Hadiths are one of the primary sources of Islamic teachings, necessitating meticulous verification to preserve their authenticity. This study examines the sanad and matan criticism of popular hadiths among preachers, focusing on three: the sanctity of the month of Rajab as "Allah's month," the miraculous birth of the Prophet Muhammad circumcised, and the encouragement to seek knowledge even to China. Using a qualitative descriptive-analytical approach, this research evaluates the authenticity of these hadiths through classical and modern references. The results indicate that these hadiths are classified as weak (dha'if) or fabricated (maudhu’) due to critical flaws in their chains of transmission and inconsistencies in their texts. For instance, the hadith on Rajab conflicts with Quranic and authentic prophetic narratives, and the claim of the Prophet’s circumcised birth lacks credible supporting evidence. The study underscores the importance of rigorous sanad and matan analysis to ensure the preservation of Islamic teachings, guiding preachers and society toward reliable sources.

Introduction : Village health community development activities (PKMD) were carried out in the RT 03 RW 05 area of Kersanagara Village, Tasikmalaya City starting from March 5-13, 2025. The series of activities included health education on hypertension. Hypertension is a degenerative disease where blood pressure exceeds the normal limit, which is >120/80 mmHg. Abstract

Dakwah through mass media has become a key strategy in spreading Islamic teachings to a wide audience. Advances in information technology have enabled preachers to reach the public quickly and efficiently, especially through platforms such as television, radio, and social media. The purpose of this study is to identify problems in preaching and appropriate methods when preaching using digital-based mass media. The research method used is a literature review, a research method that involves searching, collecting, and analyzing secondary data sources such as books, journals, and other documents. The results of the study show that varying levels of religious understanding among the public also affect the acceptance of da'wah messages, requiring preachers to deliver material that is relevant and easily understood by various groups. Commercial pressures are an additional obstacle, as the mass media often prioritizes content that is more financially profitable over da'wah content, which is generally educational and serious in nature. The proposed solutions to overcome these challenges include the use of a contextual approach, adaptation of communication styles, segmentation of mad'u, and professionalization of da'wah through technology training. With this strategy, da'wah through the mass media can meet the needs of modern society without sacrificing the essence of Islamic teachings

Abstract

This paper critically examines the understanding of Aaron Rock-Singer, a contemporary Western academic in the field of modern Islamic studies, especially related to Islamism and revivalism in the Middle East. His works highlight the role of media, state, and daily practices in shaping Muslim religious authority and identity, especially in the context of modern Egypt. Using a social history approach and discursive theory, Rock-Singer attempts to reconstruct how Islam is practiced in the public sphere. However, this approach has been criticized by various groups, especially Muslim academics and postcolonial thinkers. The criticism is directed at Rock-Singer's tendency to ignore the spiritual, normative and epistemological dimensions of Islamic religious experience, as well as his reliance on the secular-liberal framework of analysis typical of Western academia. This paper aims to comprehensively evaluate Rock-Singer's understanding by addressing methodological and epistemological weaknesses from an internal Islamic perspective. It emphasizes the need for a more dialogical approach between Islamic intellectual traditions and Western academic studies so that the study of Islam does not merely become an object of outside study, but part of an inclusive global intellectual conversation.
