Abstract

The Fourth Digital Revolution has transformed Indonesia's informal transportation sector, particularly traditional motorcycle taxi drivers transitioning to digital ride-hailing platforms. This shift represents movement from location-bound, passive income generation to algorithm-driven, flexible employment. Despite widespread Grab adoption across secondary cities, limited research examines multidimensional impacts on drivers' socio-economic well-being beyond metropolitan areas. This study investigates how digital transformation affects the income and social well-being of former traditional motorcycle taxi drivers in Kendari City, a representative secondary urban area. The research employed a qualitative exploratory case study design, utilizing in-depth interviews with eight primary informants who transitioned to the Grab platform, supplemented by community leaders and driver representatives. Data collection used methodological triangulation, combining semi-structured interviews, participant observation, and document analysis over three months. Analysis followed Braun and Clarke's thematic framework, integrating Digital Transformation Theory, Platform Economy Theory, and Social Impact Theory. Findings reveal substantial positive impacts across multiple dimensions. Economically, drivers experienced significant income improvements, enhancing financial stability and predictability. Beyond monetary gains, digitalization strengthened social well-being through improved access to children's education and healthcare, greater work-life balance, and enhanced psychological well-being through reduced income uncertainty. However, challenges emerged regarding platform commission fees and technological dependence. Digital transformation through ride-hailing platforms serves as a powerful economic empowerment instrument, significantly improving income security and multidimensional social well-being. The transition constitutes a structural transformation reducing informal sector uncertainties while providing occupational autonomy, offering evidence-based insights for inclusive digital transformation policies.

Abstract

In the contemporary landscape of digital commerce, the phenomenon of unauthorized use of copyrighted materials, especially photographs, poses significant challenges. This study delves into the realm of intellectual property rights, particularly focusing on copyright regulations, licensing, and legal protection concerning photographic content within e-commerce platforms. The research adopts a normative legal approach to analyze existing laws related to copyright regulation and protection in the context of product sales on e-commerce platforms. It is characterized by a descriptive-analytical methodology aimed at elucidating and analyzing legal regulations governing copyright, licensing, and legal certainty within the e-commerce environment. The findings reveal crucial insights into the legal certainty provided by copyright laws, emphasizing the significance of legal protection for creators and innovators in the digital age. Despite advancements, the study identifies persistent challenges, such as the widespread unauthorized use of photographic content in e-commerce settings, leading to infringements on intellectual property rights. The analysis highlights pertinent legal provisions within Indonesian copyright laws, outlining the rights and protections afforded to creators of photographic works. It underscores the importance of legal enforcement and the role of stakeholders, including businesses, e-commerce platforms, and governmental authorities, in upholding intellectual property rights. In conclusion, the research underscores the imperative of enhancing legal frameworks, enforcement mechanisms, and stakeholder collaboration to safeguard intellectual property rights in the digital era. By elucidating legal complexities and proposing strategies for compliance and enforcement, this study contributes to advancing the discourse on intellectual property protection within the digital commerce landscape.

Abstract

This study examines how Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) functions as a social investment chain to develop digital capabilities and enhance employability through institutional practices within secondary schools. Building on the evolving perspective of CSR-from a moral obligation to a strategy for creating shared value-this research employs a qualitative case study approach at SMK Forward Nusantara Depok, Indonesia. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis involving company representatives, school leaders, teachers, and students. The findings reveal that CSR extends beyond merely providing resources; it operates as a multi-tiered process encompassing investment in digital access, institutional capacity building, and the cultivation of student employability. Digital facilities are transformed into sustainable learning practices through teacher training, curriculum integration, and school governance, enabling students to produce digital projects, build portfolios, and foster independent learning. These practices exemplify social investment mechanisms at the micro level that cultivate future-oriented capabilities. This study contributes to the CSR and welfare literature by conceptualizing CSR as a social investment chain grounded in institutional practices and offers practical implications for designing CSR programs focused on educational capacity building. Keywords: Corporate Social Responsibility, Vocational Education Quality, Industry-Education Collaboration   Penelitian ini mengkaji bagaimana Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) berfungsi sebagai rantai investasi sosial dalam pengembangan kapabilitas digital dan peningkatan daya kerja (employability) melalui praktik-praktik institusional di tingkat sekolah menengah kejuruan.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the role of Corporate Social Responsibility in enhancing the quality of vocational education through industry-education collaboration, particularly in improving students' digital skills and carCorporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is increasingly promoted as a mechanism to support educational development, yet empirical explanations of how CSR generates educational outcomes in vocational contexts remain limited. This study examines how CSR-driven technology interventions contribute to educational transformation through a qualitative case study of SMK Forward Nusantara Depok, Indonesia. Drawing on Creating Shared Value and Human Capital theories, the study proposes a CSR-Driven Educational Transformation Model to explain the link between CSR inputs and learning outcomes. A theory-informed single-case design was employed, using semi-structured interviews with corporate representatives, school leaders, and students, supported by observation and document analysis. Data were analyzed thematically to examine pathways related to technology access, pedagogical change, digital competency development, and career readiness. The findings show that CSR interventions improved digital infrastructure and enabled more applied, industry-relevant learning practices, contributing to enhanced digital skills and career readiness. However, the study also highlights boundary conditions, including sustainability risks, ethical concerns, and institutional readiness. Overall, this study provides a process-based contribution to CSR and vocational education literature and offers practical insights for designing sustainable CSR-education partnerships.
