Abstract

Changing values and priorities in urban societies affect interest and preference for religious education, with many Tahfidz schools becoming an increasingly popular option in response to changing social, cultural, and economic dynamics. The purpose of this study is to look at the preferences of parents of urban communities in choosing schools for their children in terms of social life and the challenges they face. This research is a qualitative research, which uses a sociology approach and a historical approach as an approach to explore the phenomenon that affects the interests and preferences of parents in choosing a school for their children. The results of this study show that parents choose tahfidz schools to increase their children's religiosity, hope for blessings, and rewards of the Qur'an. Other factors such as excellent programs, facilities, and education costs, also influence their decision. The challenges that parents face are time limitations, costs, children's social adjustment, and psychological challenges.

Abstract

Epistemology is a branch of philosophy that focuses on the nature, sources, methods, and limits of human knowledge. This article aims to examine the concept of epistemology within the context of the philosophy of science, its scope, and its relevance to the development of modern scientific thought. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach using a literature review method thatdraws upon both classical and contemporary sources in the field of the philosophy of science. The findings indicate that epistemology encompasses four main domains: the sources of knowledge, the methods of acquiring knowledge, the validity and truth of knowledge, and the limits of human understanding. In the modern context, epistemology faces new challenges such as technological advancement, scientific interdisciplinarity, and the relationship between local and global knowledge systems. The practical implications of epistemology are also evident in education through constructivism, inquiry-based learning, and epistemological literacy. Therefore, a sound understanding of epistemology serves as a crucial foundation for developing an educational and scientific system that is critical, reflective, and contextually relevant.

Abstract

This article aims to conceptually examine the integration of teacher human resource development (HRD) management based on Islamic ethics in managing workplace conflict to enhance teacher professionalism, particularly in excellent madrasahs. This study employs a literature review approach by analyzing theories, concepts, and previous empirical studies related to teacher human resource development, Islamic ethics, workplace conflict management, and teacher professionalism within the context of madrasah education. The findings indicate that teacher professionalism is not solely determined by pedagogical and professional competencies, but also by the internalization of Islamic ethical values that shape work attitudes, moral integrity, and the ability to manage workplace conflicts constructively. Islamic ethics function as both a normative and strategic foundation underpinning teacher human resource development and conflict management practices in madrasah institutions. This review also identifies a research gap, particularly the limited number of studies that comprehensively integrate teacher human resource development, Islamic ethics, and workplace conflict management within a single conceptual framework, especially in the context of excellent madrasahs that face high performance standards and complex organizational dynamics. Therefore, this article proposes a conceptual framework as a theoretical foundation for future empirical research and the development of Islamic educational management practices.
