Abstract

Teachers are responsible for identifying each student's interests through their abilities. Teachers' skills in determining teaching methods are crucial because they influence the success of the teaching and learning process. By implementing innovation, teachers can increase the attractiveness, engagement, and effectiveness of the learning process. Therefore, it is highly recommended that teachers incorporate innovation into their teaching and learning activities. This study aims to determine teacher innovation in increasing student learning interest in the subject (SKI) at MTs Negeri 1 Pesawaran. This research uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive research type. Data collection techniques were conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation. The informants in this study consisted of Islamic cultural history teachers and class VII students of MTs Negeri 1 Pesawaran. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that SKI teachers implemented learning innovations to increase student learning interest by using the storytelling method as a more engaging and interactive learning approach. The purpose of implementing this method is to foster student learning interest through feelings of enjoyment, interest, attention, and active involvement during the learning process. Through storytelling, the material on Islamic Cultural History is presented in a coherent and easy-to-understand story so that students can better appreciate the historical events being studied. In addition, this method encourages students to actively listen, provide responses, express opinions, and re-present the material according to their understanding. Thus, the application of the storytelling method can create a more lively learning atmosphere and contribute positively to increasing student learning interest.

Abstract

Memorizing the Qur'an which is prioritized because of its own will without coercion from others or parents, where the will is driven from the belief in spiritual values with sincere intentions solely for Allah. One way to overcome the laziness of students or memorizers of the Qur'an is to provide motivation, for example, such as both parents memorizing the Qur'an, giving crowns to parents in the afterlife or telling stories of memorizers of the Qur'an.  The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of the use of the Tarteel application in improving the memorization ability of the Al-Qur'an of students at MAN 1 Tanggamus. The research method used in this study is quantitative research, with a research design using Pretest-Posttest. Data collection was done with tests, interviews and documentation. The results of this study indicate that there is an effectiveness of utilizing the Tarteel application in improving the ability to memorize the Qur'an of XI social studies class students at MAN 1 Tanggamus. This can be seen by proving the Effect size test with the acquisition of d = 1.467> 0.8 whose category is high. For the effectiveness of the Tarteel application, this can be proven by the average value of N-Gain in Class XI IPS 7 (Experiment class) is greater than Class XI IPS 5 (Control class) with a value of 0.68> 0.47.

Abstract

Morning assemblies in madrasahs can provide a structured setting for habituating discipline and religious attitudes before formal learning begins. This study aimed to describe teachers’ efforts to instill students’ discipline and religious attitudes through the morning assembly at MTs Mathla’ul Anwar Kecapi, Pesawaran, Lampung, and to identify supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation. A descriptive qualitative design was employed using purposive sampling involving 10 informants: the head of the madrasah, the vice principal for student affairs, the morning assembly supervisor, and seven students. Data were collected through direct observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The findings showed that discipline was cultivated through punctuality, orderly line formation, uniform and attribute checks, compliance with madrasah rules, supervision, reprimands, guidance, motivation, and follow-up direction after the assembly. Religious attitudes were fostered through prayer, shalawat, religious advice, positive-behavior habituation, and teacher role modeling. Supporting conditions included teacher cooperation, routine implementation, perceived parental support, and adequate facilities, whereas inhibiting conditions included uneven student disciplinary awareness, lateness among some teachers and students, differences in parental attention, limited mastery of prayers and shalawat, and personal or situational causes of lateness. These findings imply that morning assemblies can function as contextual character-habituation spaces when routines are consistently accompanied by teacher modeling, guidance, supervision, and school-family coordination.
