Abstract

Stunting is one of the world's nutritional challenges, particularly in impoverished and emerging countries. Stunting is an issue since it is connected with a higher risk of morbidity and mortality, as well as inadequate brain development, which leads to delayed motor development and stunted cerebral growth. The mother's health and nutritional status before and throughout pregnancy, the mother's body posture, the close spacing of pregnancies, the mother's adolescence, and poor dietary intake during pregnancy all have an impact on fetal growth and stunting risk. Stunting is influenced by the mother's nutritional expertise. This study aimed to evaluate the correlation between mothers’ nutritional expertise and the toddlers’ stunting incident in Wainyapu Village. This quantitative study employed an analytical survey design and a cross-sectional approach method. The population in this study were mothers who had toddlers 12-59 months and lived in Wainyapu Village. This study employed total sampling technique, with a questionnaire on mothers’ nutritional expertise as the research instrument. The Spearman correlation test was employed during data analysis. The findings yielded that the level of mothers’ nutritional expertise was mostly in the poor category (76.9%), with the incidence of stunting in toddlers as high as (75%), and there was a significant correlation between mothers’ nutritional expertise and the toddlers’ stunting incident as shown by Spearman correlation results were 0.945 with Sig p-value <0.01. It is expected that this study can provide mothers some information to better understand the importance of toddlers’ nutritional expertise in order to avoid stunting

Abstract

Entering old age, a person will experience a condition of physical deterioration characterized by less clear hearing, worsening vision, decreased muscle strength resulting in slow movements, and disproportionate body movements. As a result of the physical changes of the elderly, resulting in impaired physical mobility that will limit the independence of the elderly in fulfilling daily activities and cause the risk of falling in the elderly. In Indonesia, the prevalence of injuries falls in the population over the age of 55 years reaches 49.4%, the age over 65 years and over 67.1% (Ministry of Health, RI, 2017). This training aims to reduce the risk of falls in the elderly. This training will be held face-to-face for one month in four meetings. The meeting consisted of pre-test assessment activities, lectures, video screenings, booklet distribution and post-test assessments. Previously, the team prepared and tested high risk management videos which were used as educational media in this training. The results of the study obtained increased knowledge of the risk of falling by elderly cadres with pre-test and post-test scores of 60 and 80. So that this circumcision is effectively carried out for cadres in the application of fall risk management Entering old age, a person will experience a condition of physical deterioration characterized by less clear hearing, worsening vision, decreased muscle strength resulting in slow movements, and disproportionate body movements. Adherence is indicator in HIV and AIDS medication management. Abstract

This study aimed at identifying the effect of progressive mobilization on pressure ulcer incidents in patient with mechanical ventilation in the Intensive Care Unit at Mangusada Hospital. The design of this study was PreExperiment (one group pretest and posttest design). The instrument used in this study was a standard procedure of Richmond Agitation Sedation Scale (RASS) and observation sheet of Decubitus. The result of the test indicated most of the respondents experienced grade I pressure ulcer (decubitus) before being given progressive mobilization therapy and after the therapy, all respondents (100%) did not show pressure ulcer (decubitus) incident. Wilcoxon test showed that there was an effect of progressive mobilization on pressure ulcer incidents in patient with mechanical ventilation in the Intensive Care Unit at Mangusada Hospital (p-value = 0,042).

Abstract

One of the health challenges often experienced by children is fever, which can be a symptom of various serious diseases such as typhoid fever. Pharmacological management of fever often causes side effects, so safe and effective non-pharmacological alternatives are needed. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of providing non-pharmacological therapy, namely Tepid Sponge compress and topical shallots as independent nurse actions to overcome hyperthermia in patients. The intervention was carried out on three patients for three consecutive days, with a duration of 35 minutes per session. The results showed a decrease in hyperthermia in all patients, accompanied by increased comfort and ability to do activities. When tepid sponge compress and topical shallots are combined, they work synergistically through two main physiological pathways. external heat release (Heat Loss Mechanism) where tepid sponge compress helps lower temperature through evaporation of water on the skin and shallots accelerate heat release through stimulation of sweat and capillary vasodilation. This combination helps reduce the inflammatory reaction which is the main cause of hyperthermia. The combination of tepid sponge compress and topical red onion works synergistically in lowering body temperature through the mechanism of evaporation, circulation stimulation, and anti-inflammatory effects. This therapy has been proven safe, effective, and potential as an alternative in non-pharmacological pain management with the additional benefit of improving the patient's quality of life. It is hoped that this therapy can be implemented in other pediatric patients.
