Abstract

This research is a classroom action research (CLAR) that aims to improve mathematics learning outcomes of class IX.3 students of SMP Negeri 2 Sungguminasa, Gowa Regency, through the TaRL approach. The subjects of thisresearch were 31 regular class IX.3 students of SMP Negeri 2 Sungguminasa. This research was conducted in two cycles. The research work procedure for each cycle took place in four stages, namely: (1) planning, (2) implementation of actions, (3)observation, and (4) reflection. Data collection was carried out by giving tests and observations through observation sheets. The data collected were analyzed using quantitative and qualitative analysis. The results of this study concluded that mathematics learning outcomes can be improved through the TaRL approach for class IX.3 students of SMP Negeri 2 Sungguminasa. This is shown by: The average score of the mathematics learning outcome test for the cognitive aspect increased from an average score of 77.32 in cycle I then increased to 90 in cycle II. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (Classroom Action Research) yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika peserta didik kelas IX.3 SMP Negeri 2 Sungguminasa Kab. Gowa, melalui pendekatan TaRL. Subjek penelitian ini adalah peserta didik reguler kelas IX.3 SMP Negeri 2 Sungguminasa yang berjumlah 31 orang. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Prosedur kerja penelitian setiap siklus berlangsung empat tahap, yaitu: (1) perencanaan, (2) pelaksanaan tindakan, (3) observasi, dan (4) refleksi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan memberikan tes dan pengamatan melalui lembar observasi. Data yang dikumpulkan dianalisis dengan analisis kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini disimpulkan bahwa hasil belajar matematika dapat ditingkatkan melalui pendekatan TaRL pada peserta didik kelas IX.3 SMP Negeri 2 Sungguminasa. Hal ini ditunjukkan oleh: Rata-rata skor tes hasil belajar matematika untuk aspek kognitif mengalami peningkatan dari skor rata-rata 77.32 pada siklus I kemudian pada siklus meningkat menjadi 90.

Abstract

This training program was initiated due to the limited ability of teachers to develop interactive digital-based learning media aligned with the Merdeka Curriculum. The objective was to enhance teachers’ competence in designing and utilizing Wordwall-based media to support engaging and participatory classroom activities. The training was conducted in both offline and online modes at UPT SMP Negeri 2 Bontonompo, involving 13 teachers. The implementation included lectures, demonstrations, Wordwall creation practices, and mentoring. Evaluation was carried out using pretest and posttest instruments, as well as quality analysis of the developed media. The results indicated a significant improvement in scores, rising from an average of 14.92 (pretest) to 20.38 (posttest), with a Sig. < 0.05. All participants successfully produced one Wordwall-based media relevant to their teaching topics. This activity significantly contributed to improving teachers' skills in integrating technology into instruction and strengthening their digital pedagogical capacity. The program serves as a viable model for ongoing training aimed at promoting technology-integrated learning in schools.

Abstract

This study aims to describe mathematical representation ability in terms of students' learning styles. The type of research used is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. The subjects in this study were VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Bontonompo as many as 3 students, namely 1 student of visual learning style, 1 student of auditorial learning style and 1 student of kinesthetic learning style. The instruments used were questionnaires, mathematical representation ability test sheets, and interview guidelines. The mathematical representation problem used was 1 problem which contained image representation, symbol representation and verbal representation. The results showed that: (1) subjects with visual learning styles have mathematical representation skills by fulfilling two aspects, namely symbol representation and verbal representation. (2) subjects with auditorial learning style have mathematical representation ability by fulfilling all aspects, namely symbol representation, verbal representation and image representation. (3) subjects with kinesthetic learning style have mathematical representation ability by fulfilling two aspects namely symbol representation and verbal representation.
