Abstract

This study examines how effective group counseling is in improving career maturity and decision-making of students and college students. Approaches such as Trait and Factor, CBT, and CIP as well as creative media such as career bags and IT support the service. The method used was a literature review. The purpose of this study is to determine and analyze how effective group counseling services are in improving career readiness and maturity, as well as to determine its effect on learners' self-efficacy, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. The results showed that group counseling improved participants' career maturity, self-efficacy, and future planning, with a significant increase from pretest to posttest. The use of media and technology encouraged creativity and effectiveness of the services, although privacy and ethical issues still need to be addressed, especially for online services. In addition, external elements such as family and social environment influence. Therefore, group counseling-if conducted in a planned, flexible, sustainable, and appropriately evaluated manner-helps participants prepare for their careers.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat hubungan antara seberapa sering remaja menggunakan media sosial dan kemungkinan mereka mengalami depresi, dengan menggali informasi dari berbagai sumber studi yang telah ada. Metode yang digunakan adalah tinjauan pustaka atau literature review dengan memeriksa berbagai sumber ilmiah, seperti jurnal penelitian dan artikel akademik yang berkaitan dengan topik penggunaan media sosial dan kesehatan mental remaja. Sumber dipilih berdasarkan sesuai dengan tema dan kredibilitasnya, kemudian dianalisis secara deskriptif untuk menemukan pola hubungan serta faktor-faktor yang memicu munculnya gejala depresi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa semakin sering remaja menggunakan media sosial, semakin tinggi peluang mereka mengalami gejala depresi dan masalah emosional. Faktor-faktor seperti perbandingan sosial, penindasan di dunia maya, rasa takut ketinggalan, serta menurunnya interaksi langsung semuanya memperbesar risiko tersebut. Secara umum, penggunaan media sosial secara rutin berhubungan dengan risiko depresi pada remaja, oleh karena itu diperlukan penggunaan media sosial yang lebih bijak agar kesehatan mental remaja tetap terjaga.

Abstract

This article discusses the relationship between parenting styles and adolescents’ social behavior. Adolescence is a developmental stage characterized by increasing social demands, making the role of the family, particularly parents, crucial in shaping adolescents’ social adjustment. This study employed a literature review method by examining relevant textbooks and national and international journal articles related to parenting styles and adolescents’ social behavior. The findings indicate that parenting styles have a significant influence on adolescents’ social behavior. Authoritative or democratic parenting is identified as the most effective style in promoting positive social behaviors, such as empathy, cooperation, social concern, and adaptive social skills. In contrast, authoritarian and permissive parenting styles are associated with various social behavior problems, including aggression, social anxiety, and low social competence. Furthermore, the relationship between parenting styles and adolescents’ social behavior is mediated by internal psychological factors, such as self-control and emotional intelligence. Therefore, warm, responsive, and consistent parenting practices are essential to support optimal social development in adolescents.
