Abstract

Bahasa Indonesia is one of many languages arround the world that is in favor of foreigners (WNA). For them, bahasa Indonesia is learned for the certain goals. They are to academic purposes, profesion, and communication in daily life. For academic purposes, seeing that many foreign students learn bahasa Indonesia directly in Indonesia. One of the places is UPT Bahasa Universitas Sebelas Maret. The research is to present syntax error forms and their tendency error of written language on TISOL students in academic level. The research is conducted in UPT Bahasa Universitas Sebelas Maret. It’s subject is TISOL students whom study in Universitas Sebelas Maret Surakarta. This study is qualitative research in the form of case study. Researcher focuses on syntax level. It based on the interview toward the teacher. Many TISOL students did the syntax error on their written language. [Bahasa Indonesia merupakan salah satu bahasa di dunia yang tengah digemari oleh Warga Negara Asing (WNA). Bagi WNA, bahasa Indonesia dipelajari untuk tujuan tertentu. Di antaranya untuk keperluan akademik, profesi, dan berkomunikasi dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Untuk keperluan akademik, dapat dilihat dari maraknya mahasiswa asing yang belajar bahasa Indonesia secara langsung di Indonesia. Salah satunya di UPT Bahasa Universitas Sebelas Maret. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memaparkan bentuk-bentuk kesalahan sintaksis beserta tendensi kesalahannya pada bahasa tulis pembelajar Bahasa Indonesia bagi Penutur Asing (BIPA) tingkat akademik. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di UPT Bahasa Universitas Sebelas Maret. Subjek penelitian dalam penelitian ini  adalah pembelajar BIPA yang menempuh studi di UPT Bahasa Universitas Sebelas Maret Surakarta. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif yang berupa studi kasus. Dalam penelitian ini peneliti menekankan kajian pada tingkat sintaksis. Hal itu didasarkan pada wawancara terhadap pengajarnya. Menurutnya, banyak pembelajar BIPA yang melakukan kesalahan dalam bidang sintaksis pada bahasa tulisnya.]

Abstract

This study aims to find out diction errors in online sales promotions on Instagram. Twenty sentences have been taken from six accounts established in Solo, Central Java, as the samples.  Analysis is focused on the inappropriate use of English words and terms. The results of this study are as follows. First, some forms of language errors found in Instagram accounts includes diction and terms errors. Second, the factors of language errors in sales promotions are (1) English is more popular, (2) English is more concise, (3) English looks more prestigious, and (4) English seems more persuasive.

Abstract

The moderation value integration is sensitive for religion-based educational institutions, mainly for madrasahs, in Surakarta in preventing the social conflicts among different ethnics, races, and religions. The last five-times changes of the national curriculum at high schools, since 2004, have brought about schools and teachers’ barriers in integrating the moderation values to their English teaching and learning process. This paper explores the English teachers’ barriers in integrating the moderation values in their teaching and learning activities amid the curriculum changes. The data were taken qualitatively using interviews and observations to English teachers and headmasters of the two best madrasahs, MAN 1 and MAN 2, in Surakarta. The triangulated data were analyzed using Analytic Induction into eight kinds of teachers’ barriers. The findings show that the teachers have four areas of barriers: a) low moderation value literacy and no manuals; b) past failure experiences; c) moderation integration as a new habit; d) learning English and moderation value achievement imbalances. They have no barrier in four areas:  a) the expertise shift; b) the school power relations; c) the interpersonal relationships; d) the human resource replacement. This research helps the schools and teachers in identifying and solving the eight areas of barriers in implementing new change of curriculum, mainly in integrating the moderation values. These findings imply that school and teachers’ readiness and creativity are basic in integrating moderation values amid the curriculum changes.

Abstract

There are hundreds of families of the grandchildren of the Prophet Muhammad.  who live in Pasar Kliwon, Surakarta.  Among them are the Habib Ali al Habsy Family, such as Habib Anis al Habsyi, and his father Habib Alwi bin Ali al Habsy.  In Pasar Kliwon District there are sharif and syarifah associations, from the data obtained in the field in the last 5 years there have been 25 marriages between syarifah and nonsyarif.  Besides that, in Kliwon Market there is also an organization of the Rabithah Alawiyah Branch Leadership Council.  This study aims to identify and describe the conditions or cases of marriage between sharifah and non-syarif in the Kliwon market in Surakarta and to describe the implementation of kafā’ah in the prohibition of marriage between sharifah and non-syarif according to Habaib Pasar Kliwon Surakarta and to explain Islamic law and positive law reviews of the concept  kafā’ah towards the Alawiyyin family which was carried out by the people of Pasar Kliwon District, Surakarta. This type of research is a type of field research using primary and secondary data. The data collection technique was carried out using observation, interviews, documentation studies and literature studies, all of which answered research problems regarding the implementation of kafā’ah in the prohibition of marriage between sharifah and non-syarif. According to the majority view of Habaib, Pasar Kliwon sub-district, a sharifah is not allowed to marry a non-syarif because they are considered not to be in the same league and for her, the descendants of Rasulullah SAW have the glory and virtue that not everyone has. Therefore, the kafā’ah problem is of great concern to the habaib of Pasar Kliwon.
