Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a dangerous disease because it can cause many complications. Physical activity is necessary for successful diabetes treatment. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between physical activity and blood glucose levels in type 2 diabetes patients at the Binjai Estate Health Center. The type of research used is correlational research with a cross sectional design. The population of this study consisted of type 2 DM patients in the working area of ??the Binjai Estate Health Center from January 2020 to March 2020, using a purposive sampling technique, the population was 209. The sample size was taken 20% of the total population, namely 42 people (Arikunto, 2013). The data collection method used the Baecke questionnaire, analysis used the chi-square test with ? = 0.05. The research results showed that the majority of DM sufferers had the type with light physical activity, namely 21 people (50.00%) and the majority of DM sufferers had the type with KGD >200 mg/dL, namely 34 people (81.00%). The test results obtained Asymp.Sig value. (2 sides) = 0.000, namely <0.05, meaning there is a relationship between physical activity and blood sugar levels in type 2 DM sufferers at the Binjai Estate Health Center. It is recommended for diabetes mellitus sufferers to always be active in physical activity.

Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus (DM) characterized by an increase in blood glucose levels caused due to chronic metabolic disorders characterized by deficiencies in the production and utilization of the hormone insulin. Family has an influence on the attitude and acceptance of health education for people with Diabetes Mellitus. Family support is needed to improve dietary compliance in people with Diabetes Mellitus. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between family support and dietary control compliance in people with Diabetes Mellitus in the Binjai City Health Center work area in 2023. This type of research is quantitative with a correlation design carried out in the working area of the Binjai City Health Center in March-July 2023. The population in this study was all Diabetes Mellitus sufferers in the working area of the Binjai City Health Center which amounted to 155 respondents. The samples in this study were taken using purposive sampling techniques as many as 30 respondents . The results of family support research in people with Diabetes Mellitus the majority of respondents had family support in a good category as many as 15 respondents (50%). Meanwhile, dietary compliance shows that the majority of respondents have compliance as many as 19 respondents (63.3%). Based on the results of the chi-squertes test above, we get a p value of 0.000 (p < 0.005) which means that there is a relationship between family support and dietary control compliance in patients with Diabetes Mellitus Ho rejected Ha accepted. It is expected that health workers can provide health education to families in handling diet control in patients with Diabetes Mellitus.

Abstract

Around 90% of patients having stroke experience sudden weakness or paralysis of  the  limb.  Other  signs  and  symptoms  include  memory  problems  and  some  signs indicating impaired brain function. This study aims to determine the relationship between social support and anxiety levels of stroke patients dependent on daily activities using a dynamic correlation research design. This study's data sources are primary data and secondary data using a questionnaire instrument and analysis using chi-square test. The analysis of social support with the anxiety level of stroke patients dependent on daily activities shows that the p value = 0.184 (p> 0.05 then Ho is rejected, and Ha is accepted). This means no relationship exists between social support and anxiety levels in stroke patients who experience dependency on daily activities at RSUD Dr. RM Djoelham Binjai.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a dangerous disease because it causes many complications. Prolanis Exercise is one of the physical activities for people with Diabetes Mellitus (DM) to lower blood glucose levels. This study aims to determine the effect of prolanis exercise on reducing patients' blood glucose levels in the working area of the southern Namu Ukur Health Center. The Quasi Experiment method with a one-group pretest-posttest design is used as a research design. This study also used a purposive sampling method with 28 respondents. Prolanis Exercise exercises were used as the data collection tool. The results showed that there was an effect of prolanis exercise on decreasing blood glucose levels in people with Diabetes Mellitus (DM) in the working area of the Namu Ukur Health Center with a value of 0.004 (α<0.05). Before treatment, blood sugar levels were an average of 270 mg/dL and 257 mg/dL after the treatment. Patients with Diabetes Mellitus (DM) should carry out regular physical activities in routine such as prolanis exercise.
