Abstract

The development of English language proficiency for specific purposes (ESP) plays an important role in preparing learners for success in an increasingly globalized work environment, particularly in the field of business. In this context, the evaluation of ESP textbooks, such as "Intelligent Business”, the critical evaluation of English teaching materials, particularly focusing on the textbook "Intelligent Business" within the realm of English for Specific Purposes (ESP). The assessment is based on Cunningsworth's (1984) criteria, emphasizing aspects such as content relevance, organization, language presentation, and activities. The textbook is scrutinized for its effectiveness in enhancing business English skills, with a particular emphasis on vocabulary, grammar, and skill development, and sheds light on the collaborative efforts and acknowledgments involved in creating the coursebook, underscoring its value as a learning resource. Through this evaluation, the study aims to provide insights into the suitability and efficacy of the textbook in facilitating language learning in a business context. The data collection technique used is a documentation study by analyzing the textbook based on those evaluation criteria. It is expected that the results of the analysis can provide in-depth insight into the strengths and weaknesses of this textbook and provide guidance for the development of more effective textbooks in the context of ESP learning in the field of business. By focusing on the evaluation of ESP textbooks in the business context, this study is expected to make a significant contribution to the development of English language teaching and learning practices for specific purposes in various business environments.

Abstract

This study explores the link between digital transformation and sustainable performance, emphasizing economic and environmental outcomes while considering the moderating effect of technological turbulence. Data from 81 respondents reveal that digital transformation improves economic performance through dynamic capabilities like resource adaptation, process innovation, and agility. It also enhances environmental performance by promoting energy efficiency, waste reduction, and green innovations. However, advanced stages of digital transformation may face diminishing returns due to organizational inertia and the high resource demands of digital technologies. Technological turbulence amplifies both the opportunities and challenges, requiring companies in volatile environments to focus on adaptability and strategic alignment. The study highlights the importance of a phased, context-sensitive approach to digital transformation to avoid resource overuse and environmental harm. These findings offer practical insights for optimizing digital strategies to achieve long-term economic and environmental sustainability. Future research should address limitations such as sample size and context, while exploring additional moderating factors across diverse industries.

Abstract

Pembelajaran interaktif merupakan pendekatan yang semakin diminati dalam dunia pendidikan modern. Pendekatan ini menekankan pada partisipasi aktif siswa dalam proses pembelajaran, menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang dinamis dan menarik. Salah satu aspek yang diperhatikan dalam pembelajaran interaktif adalah penggunaan lingkungan belajar berbeda yang menginspirasi dan memotivasi siswa untuk belajar dengan cara yang menyenangkan. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui pemanfaatan buku pop-up sebagai media pembelajaran interaktif dalam meningkatkan minat dan keterlibatan siswa dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan deskritif kualitatif, yang fokus mendeskripsikan, meneliti, dan menjelaskan fenomena yang terkait dengan penerapan pembelajaran interaktif menggunakan buku pop-up untuk mempelajari kata keterangan frekuensi di MI Terpadu Berkah Palangkaraya. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa pembelajaran interaktif menggunakan buku pop-up untuk mengajar kata keterangan frekuensi di MI Terpadu Berkah Palangkaraya meningkatkan antusiasme dan keterlibatan siswa. Namun, terdapat keterbatasan seperti kelas kurang kondusif karena antusiasme berlebihan siswa, kesulitan mengingat dan memahami materi, serta keterbatasan penglihatan media dari belakang. Rekomendasi untuk pengabdian selanjutnya yaitu pengembangan media pembelajaran dan menggunakan meida ajar lainnya. Interactive learning is an increasingly popular approach in modern education. It emphasizes the active participation of students in the learning process, creating a dynamic and engaging learning environment. One of the aspects considered in interactive learning is the use of different learning environments that inspire and motivate students to learn in a fun way. The purpose of this study is to determine the utilization of pop-up books as interactive learning media in increasing students' interest and involvement in English learning. This research method uses qualitative descriptive, which focuses on describing, examining, and explaining phenomena related to the application of interactive learning using pop-up books to learn adverbs of frequency at MI Terpadu Berkah Palangkaraya. The results showed that interactive learning using pop-up books to teach adverbs of frequency at MI Terpadu Berkah Palangkaraya increased students' enthusiasm and engagement. However, there are limitations such as less conducive class due to students' excessive enthusiasm, difficulty remembering and understanding the material, and limited media vision from behind. Recommendations for further service include developing learning media and using other teaching tools.
