Abstract

Oral health in Indonesia is still a health problem that needs attention. Based on the 2018 Basic Health Research (Riskesdas), it is reported that the prevalence of oral and dental problems in Indonesia is still very high. The above can be caused by the lack of knowledge and lack of awareness of the Indonesian population towards dental hygiene, to overcome oral health problems in Indonesia Training of Trainers for teachers and parents for 21-day morning and night brushing activities teaches children and adults about the benefits of good oral hygiene and shows them how to brush their teeth twice a day with fluoride toothpaste to realize caries-free Indonesia in 2030. This activity is held online through the zoom application. The target participants were elementary school and inclusive school students aged 7-12 years, 10 parents and 10 teachers at SD Al Azhar Kelapa Gading Surabaya. The mechanism of the activity is “Training of Trainer” (TOT) for students and parents, showing that Training of Trainer activities on teachers and parents of SD Al Azhar Kelapa Gading Surabaya students can increase their knowledge and awareness on oral health.

Abstract

Backgroud: Candida species are the most common cause of systemic and mucosal diseases. Candida species cause bloodstream infections that are more than 90% fungal. Objective: There are variations of candida worldwide, and 15 different species recognize pathogens and cause human diseases. The aim of the of the study to identify variation of Candida in patient installation of Endotracheal Tube in intensive care unit. Materials and Methods: We conducted this research using a cross-sectional design. The collect sample during 6 months perform by single oral medicine specialist. Identification variety of Candida using VITEK 2® compact.  Result: Data was obtained using a sample of 83 patients who installed an endotracheal tube unit in Dr. Ramelan Naval Hospital from March until August 2024. Results: There was a sample of 51 (61.4%) infected with Candida, with various candida being Candida albicans 39 (76.5%), Candida Tropikalis 6 (11.8%), Candida ciferri 3 (5.9%), Candida Lucitaniae 2 (3.9%), and Candida Gullermondii 1 (1.9%). Conclusion: This study identified Candida Ciferii as a new variant of Candida in this locus, known as a new resisten of fluconazole.

Abstract

Background: One of the allergic reactions in the oral mucosa is ulceration caused by IgE-mediated reactions to food substances or non-IgE-mediated reactions and non-immunological mechanisms. Ulceration is a damage to the epithelium of the oral cavity that affects the nerve endings in the lamina propria layer so that it causes pain or heat that requires treatment and therapy. Objective: To report the occurrence of ulcers due to food allergies and therapy with tetracycline mouthwash 0.25% solution. Case: A 22-year-old female patient came with complaints of a small ulcer on the inside of the gums and the entire upper and lower lips and a numb and dry tongue. The patient always experiences an ulcer every time he eats seafood and certain foods that the patient cannot mention because it happens so often and every time an ulcer appears it will continue to get bigger. Management: Patients are advised to avoid allergens and refer for a complete blood allergy test and Ig E. Tetracycline mouthwash 0.25% solution was given to be rinsed three times a day. And added supportive therapy, giving multivitamins. Conclusion: Tetracycline mouthwash has antimicrobial properties and properties as inhibitors of tissue metalloproteinases (TIMPs) can accelerate healing time and ulceration does not continue to get bigger, reduce taste and pain, according to the theory it can reduce secondary speed limits and duration. inhibits collagenase. Keyword: Allergy, Mouthwash, Tetracycline, Ulcer
