Abstract

The aim of study is to know the students’ mathematics critical thinking ability on the topic of lines and sequences arithmetic in pandemic Covid-19 period at SMA Negeri 1Padang Bolak. The approach of the research used qualitative descriptive and data analysis technique includes data reduction, data presentation, and taking conclusion. Instrument of the research used test and semistructure interview. the result of the research shows the average of students’ mathematics critical thinking ability on the topic of lines and sequences arithmetic in SMA Negeri 1 Padang Bolak is 67.26 (enough category). Only 8 from 10 students are able to answer three question completely and the rest are able to answer one from three questions.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze students’ mathematical comprehension based on learning interest in pandemic Covid-19 period. The approach of the research applied qualitative descriptive. Questionnaire, test, and interview were used in collecting the data. The technique of data analysis used data reduction, presentation of the data, and taking conclusion. Subject of the research was categorized into 3 part includes students who have students’ high learning interest, students’ average learning interest , and students’ low learning interest. Furthermore, the result of the research shows (1) students who have high learning interest have high mathematical comprehension, (2) students who have average learning interest have average mathematical comprehension, and (3) students who have low learning interest have low mathematical comprehension.

Abstract

The background of this research is that there are students who have difficulty understanding mathematics and the purpose of the research is to describe personality competence of mathematics teacher at the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Andam Dewi. The approach of the research used descriptive qualitative. Questionnaire and interview used in collecting the data. The source of the data includes 10 students (5 students of XI MIA 1 and 5 students of XI MIA 2) and 2 mathematics teachers (1 teacher of XI MIA 1 and 1 teacher of XI MIA 2). Based on the questionnaire sheet shows 1) the average of personality competence of mathematics teacher of XI MIA 2 is 107.5 (good category) and 2) the average of personality competence of mathematics teacher of XI MIA 2 is 106.2 (good category). Furthermore based on interview, personality competence of mathematics teacher at the eleventh grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Andam Dewi is good category.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the linkages between students ' mathematics learning readiness and students' mathematics communication ability during the Covid -19 pandemic at SMP Negeri 1 Sosorgadong. The approach of the research applied qualitative descriptive. Questionnaire, test, and interview were used in collecting the data. The technique of data analysis used triangulation. The source of the data is 10 students and 3 students is the subject of the research. The result of the research shows the students' physical condition is good in teaching learning, the average of students’ learning readiness is 69.2 (enough category), and the average of students' mathematics communication ability is 66.33 ( enough category). The linkages between students ' mathematics learning readiness and students' mathematics communication ability during the Covid -19 pandemic at SMP Negeri 1 Sosorgadong includes students who has high mathematics learning readiness has high mathematics communication skills, students who has enough mathematics learning readiness has medium mathematics communication skills, and students who has low mathematics learning readiness has low mathematics communication skills.

Abstract

The aims of this study is to describe students’ mathematical communication ability in term of learning interest in learning online during the Covid-19. The approach of the research used qualitative descriptive with 11 students and 1 mathematics teacher at the eighth grade students as the subject of the research which taken by using purposive sampling technique. Questionnaire, test, and interview were used in collecting the data. The result of the research shows average of students’ mathematical communication ability 57.48 (average category) and average of students’ learning interest is 70.36 (good category). Furthermore, the result of the research shows students’ learning interest is high then students’ mathematical communication ability is high, students’ learning interest is average then students’ mathematical communication ability is average, students’ learning interest is low then students’ mathematical communication ability is low.

Abstract

The aim of the research is to analyze the results of the interpretation of students' mathematical answers in mathematics learning in SMA Negeri 1 Andam Dewi. The approach of the research is descriptive qualitative. Subject of the research consist of 13 students. Observation, test, and interview were used in collecting the data and triangulation technique was used in analysis technique. The research of the research shows the average of the interpretation of students' mathematical answers in mathematics learning is 75.59 ( medium category). It’s concluded the interpretation of students' mathematical answers in mathematics learning in SMA Negeri 1 Andam Dewi include students able to find information or problems, compare the relevance of information or problems, analyze, check back and draw conclusions.

Abstract

Latar belakang masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah keabstrakan matematika yang menyebabkan rendahnya disposisi dalam belajar matematika siswa kelas VIII 1 SMP Negeri 1 Marancar. Keabstrakan ini menyulitkan siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika sehingga siswa membutuhkan adanya perantara atau media agar materi pelajaran tampak konkrit bagi siswa. Disamping itu dengan penggunaan media powerpoint ini diharapkan dapatmemotivasi siswa agar lebih semangat dan terus belajar. Dalam hal ini adalah tentang penggunaan media powerpoint di SMP Negeri 1Marancar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan disposisi matematis siswa melalui pembelajaran media powerpoint dikelas VIII-1 SMP N.1 Marancar. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif, dengan informan penelitian adalah kelas VIII-1 SMP Negeri 1 Marancar dengan jumlah siswa 21 orang. Kemudian instrumen yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data ini adalah wawancara dengan siswa dan juga angket. Dalam pelaksanaan penelitian dilakukan sebanyak 2 kali pertemuan. Dari hasil penelitian tersebut didapati angket kemampuan disposisi matematis siswa yang mencapai 80,6 dan angket reson siswa terhadap pelajaran media powerpoint dengan kriteria layak pakai dengan perolehan 76,90%.

Abstract

Matematika sebagai ilmu dasar yang merupakan suatu alasan pembelajaran matematika dikemas baik mungkin agar mudah dipahami siswa. Tujuan umum pembelajaran matematika dituangkan dalam garis-garis besar program pengajaran matematika yaitu mempersiapkan siswa agar sanggup menghadapi perkembangan dunia dengan adanya dasar pemikiran secara logis, rasional kritis, cermat, jujur, efektif dan efeisien. Tujuan pembelajaran matematika sebagai pembentukan sifat pola pikir kritis dan kreatif tersebut menuntut siswa mengikuti perkembangan kehidupan dan teknologi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan peneliti dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitiatif. Setelah melakukan pembelajaran dengan aplikasi geogebra dalam pembelajaran matematika maka peneliti mendapatkan hasil yang diinginkan yaitu hasil angket tentang motivasi belajar siswa yang mencapai 90 dengan kategori sangat baik dan hasil angket respon siswa dalam penggunaan aplikasi geogebra yang mencapai 75,93 digunakan melalui aplikasi geogebra yang mencapai kriteria layak untuk dipakai.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui keefektifan model learning cycle 5E terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa di SMP Negeri 9 Padangsidimpuan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen dengan design one group pretest posttest. Sampel diperoleh sebanyak 30 siswa yang diambil dengan menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi dan tes kemampuan komunikasi yang sebelumnya sudah divalidasi. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis deskriptif dan statistik inferensial. Berdasarkan analisis deskriptif, nilai rata-rata penerapan model learning cycle 5E terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa adalah 3,92 (kategori sangat baik), rata-rata kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa pada materi SPLDV (Sistem Persamaa Linier Dua Variable) sebelum menggunakan model learning cycle 5E adalah 67,05 (kategori cukup) dan setelah menggunakan model learning cycle 5E adalah 79.94 (kategori sedang). Selanjutnya, berdasarkan statistik inferensial dengan menggunakan paired sample test (SPSS 22) diperoleh nilai signifikannya sebesar 0,000 < 0,05, sehingga hipotesis alternatif dalam penelitian ini dapat diterima kebenarannya. Artinya, terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara penggunaan model learning cycle 5E terhadap kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa di SMP Negeri 9 Padangsidimpuan di mana nilai indeks N-gain adalah 0,56 (kategori sedang).

Abstract

Problem solving ability is the most basic ability in mathematics that teacher must train students. Different learning motivation among student can affect students’ ability to solve problems. This study aims to desribe students’ problem solving abilities according to the levels of learning motivation (1) High, (2) Medium (3) Low. The subjects in this study were 24 students of seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 5 Padangsidimpuan. The method uses descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques use questionnaires, tests, and interviews. The results shows that haigh learning motivation students have problem-solving skills that tended to be good, students are able to fulfill the four problem-solving indicators according to Polya, namely (1) understanding the problem, (2) making plans, (3) carryng out plans, (4) checking back. Medium learning motivation students have medium problem-solving abilities students are able to fulfill two or three indicators, (1) understanding the problem, (2) making plans, (3) some students have problems implementing plans for completion but some of them are able to carry out plans. Low learning motivation students are able to fulfill two indicators, (1) understanding the problem, (2) unable to determine which settlement plan to choose.
