Abstract

Along with the development of the times, the Indonesian curriculum continues to change. Indonesia has experienced curriculum changes starting from the 1947 curriculum to the 2022 curriculum, namely the Merdeka Curriculum. This study aims to determine the perspectives of teachers and students: the implementation of the Merdeka curriculum in elementary schools. This study uses a qualitative method. This research technique uses data collection in the form of observation, interviews, and questionnaires. This research was conducted at Purwakarta Elementary School, precisely at SDN 3 Sindangkasih. The informants in this study were the principal and 2 teachers at SDN 3 Sindangkasih. The results of the interview showed that the implementation of the Merdeka curriculum in elementary schools in Purwakarta was in accordance with the Merdeka Curriculum concept where the Merdeka Curriculum focuses on developing students' talents and interests and providing freedom in the learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of innovative learning modules in improving the understanding of independent learning of elementary school students. Elementary education is an important phase in building the foundation of students' knowledge, but many students have difficulty understanding the material due to less interesting learning methods. The use of innovative learning modules is one effective solution to overcome this problem. This module is systematically designed to encourage students to learn independently through various media such as digital books, learning videos, and interactive applications. Literature studies are used as a research method to collect data from various library sources related to the concept of innovative learning, learning independence, and the development of learning modules. The results of the analysis show that innovative learning modules play an important role in improving students' understanding through the presentation of more interesting, interactive, and applicable materials. This module also helps students develop critical and creative thinking skills and increases learning independence. However, its implementation in elementary schools still faces challenges such as limited access to technology and teacher readiness in compiling learning modules. Therefore, infrastructure support, teacher training, and module development that are in accordance with student needs are needed to optimize the effectiveness of innovative module-based learning. Abstract

Literacy culture develops not only as a mere hobby or passion for reading, but also as an effort that can be made to prepare us to face future challenges. The P3K UPI Purwakarta group at SDN 6 Nagrikaler held a community service activity in the form of a literacy workshop. This workshop aimed to increase students' interest in reading through reading books and encyclopedias. In this activity, teachers also participated in creating reading books and encyclopedias guided by students using the Canva application. The methods used in this study were lectures, discussions, and simulations/demonstrations of using the Canva application to create reading books and encyclopedias guided by the presenters. The results of this study are expected to provide teachers with new knowledge about creating reading books and encyclopedias through digital media so that they can increase students' interest in reading. keywords: literacy, workshop, reading books, encyclopedias
