Abstract

The community of Kemirian Village, Tamanan District, Bondowoso Regency still faces family health problems, particularly the low utilization of traditional medicinal plants. Most residents depend on chemical medicines, while home yards remain underutilized. Through the Community Service Program (KKN), the student team empowered the community by developing apotek hidup (family medicinal gardens) to improve knowledge, awareness, and independence in maintaining family health. The program was implemented through socialization, mentoring, and direct practice of planting medicinal plants in household yards.The aim of this activity was to increase residents’ understanding of the importance of medicinal plants, encourage productive use of home yards, and reduce dependence on chemical medicines. It also sought to foster community self-reliance in disease prevention, promote healthy lifestyles based on local resources, and create a greener and healthier environment.The method applied was Participatory Action Research (PAR), covering observation, problem identification, socialization, training, mentoring, and evaluation. The results showed that residents began cultivating ginger, turmeric, galangal, and lemongrass, processing them independently, and strengthening cooperation to support natural family health

Abstract

Learning style theories have long been used to understand individual differences in learning processes. Models such as VAK (Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic) and Multiple Intelligences offer frameworks for adapting instructional strategies to students’ preferences. However, these approaches have been criticized for their reductionism and limited empirical validity, often neglecting the holistic nature of human learning. In contrast, the Islamic concept of fitrah provides a more comprehensive perspective, encompassing intellectual, spiritual, moral, and emotional dimensions in an integrated manner. This conceptual article aims to analyze and integrate Western learning style theories with Islamic perspectives to develop a more holistic learning paradigm. Through an extensive literature review and theoretical analysis, the article proposes an integrative model that bridges empirical approaches with spiritual values. Theoretically, this integration enriches academic discourse by connecting two distinct knowledge traditions. Practically, it offers a framework for educators and institutions to design adaptive learning processes that address learner diversity while fostering spiritual and moral development.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze learning motivation from an Islamic perspective through the integration of spiritual values, including intention (niyyah), sincerity (ikhlas), and divine reward (pahala). Unlike modern motivation theories that emphasize psychological aspects, Islam views learning as an act of worship that carries spiritual merit and divine blessing. This research employs a qualitative approach using the literature review method, conducted through the collection of scientific articles from Google Scholar and Publish or Perish databases published between 2020 and 2025. Five relevant articles were selected for in-depth analysis. The results reveal that learning motivation in Islam is not only influenced by cognitive and external factors but also by spiritual drives rooted in pure intentions, sincerity in action, and belief in divine reward. The integration of these three elements forms a holistic model of learning motivation that combines intellectual, moral, and spiritual dimensions. Therefore, Islamic education should embed the values of intention, sincerity, and reward as the foundation for fostering meaningful and spiritually oriented learning motivation among students.

Abstract

This study examines the role of teachers as Islamic counselors in addressing various psychological problems experienced by students, such as learning anxiety, academic stress, low self-confidence, difficulty controlling emotions, and social problems such as bullying. Teachers serve not only as instructors, but also as murabbi, mursyid, and moral role models in guiding students' spiritual and emotional development. The study used a qualitative method with a library study approach, where data were obtained through relevant literature related to Islamic counseling, Islamic education, and student psychology. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of Islamic counseling through strategies such as mau'izhah hasanah, tazkiyah an-nafs, prayer and dhikr, empathy development, and collaboration with guidance and counseling teachers and parents has been proven to reduce students' anxiety and stress levels, increase learning motivation, strengthen morals and character, and provide spiritual peace. Thus, teachers play a strategic role in creating a holistic educational environment and supporting students' psychological well-being. In addition, the implementation of Islamic counseling also plays a role in building students' mental resilience in facing academic and social pressures. In the long term, this will strengthen the Islamic values ​​applied in students, while creating a more resilient and noble generation.

Abstract

The paradigm of Islamic education requires the integration of Western learning theories with an Islamic perspective to create a holistic approach to education. With the rapid development of psychological theories in education, such as behaviorism, cognition, humanism, and constructivism, it is essential to examine their relevance within the context of Islamic education. This article aims to analyze the integration of these theories in Islamic learning, with a focus on their connection to key Islamic concepts such as reward-punishment (pahala-dosa), reflection (tafakkur), self-actualization, mutual assistance (ta'awun), and consultation (syura). This study uses a literature review method with a qualitative approach. Articles were gathered through Google Scholar and Publish or Perish with keywords "Behaviorism in Islamic Education" AND "Cognitive Learning in Islam" AND "Humanistic Approach in Islamic Education" AND "Constructivism in Islamic Education." Of the initial 40 articles obtained, a screening process resulted in 5 articles that met the publication criteria (2020–2025), relevance to the topic, and open access. The review results show that integrating these theories into Islamic education can enrich the learning process by linking moral, social, and spiritual elements that are essential in Islamic teachings. This literature synthesis reveals the importance of integrating psychological theories with the principles of Islamic education to create a more comprehensive and holistic educational system. Further research should develop empirical methodologies and more detailed and practical application models in Islamic education practice.

Abstract

Penelitian ini berfokus pada kajian mendalam mengenai konsep fitrah dan potensi manusia dalam perspektif Islam serta upaya mengintegrasikannya dengan teori perkembangan Piaget dan Erikson. Dalam pandangan Islam, fitrah dimaknai sebagai kesucian asal yang melekat sejak manusia dilahirkan, yaitu kecenderungan alami untuk mengenal, mengimani, serta mengabdi kepada Allah. Selain itu, potensi manusia mencakup aspek intelektual, emosional, sosial, dan spiritual yang harus dikembangkan secara seimbang dan harmonis agar tercapai keutuhan pribadi. Teori Piaget menitikberatkan pada tahap-tahap perkembangan kognitif, mulai dari sensorimotor, praoperasional, operasional konkret, hingga operasional formal. Sementara itu, teori Erikson lebih menekankan pada tugas-tugas perkembangan psikososial sepanjang rentang kehidupan, mulai dari masa kanak-kanak hingga dewasa, yang mencakup pembentukan identitas, kemandirian, dan hubungan sosial. Artikel dikumpulkan melalui google scholar dengan mengintegrasikan kata kunci “Fitrah, Potensi, Perkembangan Manusia, Islam, Piaget, Erikson”. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi literatur, baik dari sumber primer seperti literatur psikologi perkembangan modern. Analisis menunjukkan adanya titik temu antara perspektif Islam dengan teori Piaget dan Erikson, khususnya terkait pentingnya stimulasi, pendidikan, dan lingkungan yang mendukung pertumbuhan optimal individu. Namun demikian, Islam memberikan tambahan dimensi rohani yang tidak ditemukan dalam teori Barat, yakni orientasi perkembangan menuju penghambaan kepada Allah serta kesempurnaan iman. Artikel ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi konseptual dalam pengembangan pendidikan Islam dengan memadukan nilai religius dan teori psikologi modern.
