Abstract

This study examines the implementation of the Kamis Jawa Program at SD Plus Sunan Ampel Kediri and its impact on improving students' moral character. In the context of rapid globalization and modernization, maintaining local cultural values poses a significant challenge. The Kamis Jawa Program, which integrates Javanese cultural values into the curriculum, aims to develop good character in students and promote cultural preservation. This research used a qualitative method with a case study design, involving observation, interviews, and document studies to collect data. The results indicate that the Kamis Jawa Program positively affects increasing students' understanding and appreciation of Javanese cultural values, such as politeness, cooperation, and gentleness. The program also successfully promotes the formation of good moral character among students, including respectful attitudes, responsibility, and mutual cooperation. Additionally, the program contributes to the preservation of Javanese culture and the development of students' cultural identity amidst globalization influences. This study provides insight that integrating local cultural values into education can be an effective strategy for developing good student character and preserving culture. The implication is that schools in Indonesia and other regions with similar cultural wealth can adopt similar approaches to integrate cultural values into character education, strengthening cultural identity, and promoting tolerance and diversity. Keywords: Kamis Jawa Program, moral character, character education, cultural preservation, globalization, SD Plus Sunan Ampel Kediri.

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of using private methods in improving students' reading skills at Madrasah Diniyah TPA/TPQ "HIDAYATUSH SHIBYAN". This research uses a systematic and scientific quantitative approach to explore the relationship between the use of private methods and the ability to read iqra'. This research method is included in the exploratory category, with a survey approach carried out in the field. Data was collected through interviews, observation and documentation. The results of the research show that reading mastery is the main focus in the learning process at Madrasah Diniyah TPA/TPQ "HIDAYATUSH SHIBYAN". Even though there is only one teacher teaching in each class, all students receive equal attention and the material is taught with variety to keep students interested. The application of private methods allows more intense interaction between teachers and students, facilitating better understanding of learning material. However, the success of this method depends on the balance between the number of teachers and students and the availability of sufficient time. This research concludes that learning methods that focus on individual interactions between teachers and students, such as private methods, are effective in improving students' reading abilities and comprehension at Madrasah Diniyah TPA/TPQ "HIDAYATUSH SHIBYAN". The research results provide valuable insights for educational practitioners in improving the quality of learning in non-formal educational institutions and confirm the importance of focusing on reading mastery in the educational process.

Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of the Ummi Method in improving Qur’an reading skills among mothers attending classes at Rumah Tahfidz Haromain. The research background highlights the challenges faced by adult learners, particularly low fluency, inaccurate articulation of makhraj, and inconsistent application of tajwid. The Ummi Method was selected due to its structured approach, emphasis on tartil habituation, and integration of both classical and individualized strategies. Employing a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest–posttest design, the study involved 20 purposively selected participants. Data collection instruments included pre- and post-intervention reading tests, alongside observation sheets assessing participation and motivation. Data analysis utilized paired sample t-tests and descriptive statistics. Findings indicate a significant improvement, with posttest scores showing a 25% increase compared to pretest results. Enhancements were observed across fluency, makhraj accuracy, and consistent tajwid application. Qualitative data further revealed heightened motivation, active participation, and increased self-confidence among participants. These outcomes were supported by talaqqi, repetitive practice (tikrar), and personalized correction. The results demonstrate that the Ummi Method is effective not only for children but also adaptable for adult learners in nonformal institutions. The study recommends sustained implementation supported by relevant media and certified instructors to optimize long-term outcomes

Abstract

This research explores the socialization of New Student Admissions at the high school level, which often occurs in a one-way, information-rich, and dialogue-deficient manner. This approach can lead to procedural misconceptions and reduced student engagement. The study aims to clarify the use of moving classes as a socialization method for PMB at SMAN Plosoklaten, identify necessary information and student segmentation, and develop a sustainable implementation model. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with a field study design, the research involves teachers, grade XII students, and selected university representatives. Data collection includes observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, analyzed through an interactive model involving data reduction, presentation, and conclusion formulation. Findings show that moving classes enhances student participation and comprehension by organizing socialization through thematic stations, which facilitate movement, discussion, simulation, and Q&A sessions in small groups. Recommended stations include introductory programs, selection pathways, fees, scholarships, lecture simulations, and consultations. The study emphasizes the segmented information needs of students, particularly in study program interests, scholarships, financing, selection procedures, and career prospects, necessitating differentiated visit routes and consulting services. Implications include managerial prerequisites such as infrastructure readiness, scheduling, facilitator development, technology integration, feedback-driven evaluation, and collaboration among parents, colleges, and universities, ensuring consistent and sustainable model implementation. These findings expand moving classes beyond formal learning to educational transition, reducing administrative errors and enhancing students' information literacy before higher education enrollment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the concept of multicultural education in the thought of Nurcholish Madjid (Cak Nur) and to examine its relevance to strengthening inclusive education in Indonesia. The multicultural education proposed by Cak Nur is rooted in the principles of tawhid, humanism, and social justice, which reject all forms of discrimination based on ethnicity, religion, race, or social group. This research employs a qualitative approach using a library research method through content analysis of Cak Nur’s works, such as Islam, Modernity, and Indonesian-ness, as well as related literature on inclusive education. The findings indicate that Cak Nur’s thought emphasizes the importance of pluralism, respect for diversity, and the spirit of dialogue as the foundation of multicultural education. These values have strong relevance in reinforcing the paradigm of inclusive education that positions every learner as an individual with unique potential, free from discrimination. Therefore, Cak Nur’s ideas can serve as a philosophical and ideological foundation for the development of inclusive education policies and practices in Indonesia.
