Abstract

Abstract

Consumptive behavior in purchasing fashion products through paylater services is increasing among students in Yogyakarta and has the potential to cause financial problems, especially for individuals with low self-control and a tendency to follow peer pressure. Good self-control allows individuals to regulate their shopping impulses, while conformity can encourage students to conform to trends and lifestyles of their peers. This study aims to determine the relationship between self-control and conformity with consumptive behavior in purchasing fashion products with the paylater payment method for students in Yogyakarta. The research method uses a correlational quantitative approach with a sample of 100 students selected through purposive sampling techniques. The instruments used include the self-control scale, the conformity scale, and the consumptive behavior scale. The results of the study show that there is a significant relationship between self-control and consumptive behavior as well as between conformity and consumptive behavior. The lower the student's self-control, the higher the consumptive behavior, and the higher the tendency to conform, the greater the opportunity for students to make consumptive purchases. Simultaneously, both variables were proven to have a significant effect on the consumptive behavior of students using PayLater. This study concludes that self-control and conformity are important factors in shaping consumptive behavior, so it is necessary to increase financial literacy and self-regulation so that students are wiser in using PayLater services.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the relationship between work motivation and the performance of female employees who play a dual role in Sleman Regency's local government agencies. This dual role phenomenon is challenging for women, as they must fulfil their obligations as housewives and workers, potentially affecting their motivation and performance. This study used a quantitative approach with a correlational method. The research subjects were married female employees aged between 20-57 years who work in government agencies in Sleman Regency. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling with specific criteria. Data were collected using a Likert scale measuring work motivation and employee performance. The data analysis using SPSS 25 showed a significant positive relationship between work motivation and the performance of female employees in dual roles (r = 0.480, p = 0.000). This finding indicates that the higher the work motivation, the higher the performance displayed by female employees, even though they also have responsibilities at home. This research contributes to understanding how work motivation can influence women's performance in the face of dual role demands and provides recommendations for policies that support women's well-being in the workplace

Abstract

Generation Z in Indonesia faces increasingly complex social pressures, particularly in interpersonal relationships that emphasize acceptance and social harmony. One emerging response to these pressures is people-pleasing behavior, defined as an excessive effort to satisfy others at the expense of one’s own needs. This study aims to examine the relationship between people-pleasing behavior and psychological well-being among Generation Z in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, while highlighting its psychological implications within the Indonesian socio-cultural context. A quantitative correlational design was employed, involving 103 respondents aged 18–25 years. The instruments used were the People Pleaser Scale and the Psychological Well-Being Scale, both of which demonstrated adequate validity and reliability. The results indicated that the majority of respondents exhibited low levels of psychological well-being (87.4%) and high levels of people-pleasing behavior (61.2%). Product moment correlation analysis revealed a very strong negative relationship between people-pleasing behavior and psychological well-being (r = −0.852) with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). Furthermore, the results of the coefficient of determination test showed an R Square value of 0.726, indicating that the people-pleaser variable contributes 72.6% to psychological well-being among Generation Z in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. These findings contribute novel insight by demonstrating that people-pleasing tendencies among Indonesian Generation Z are not merely adaptive social strategies, but may constitute a significant risk factor for diminished psychological well-being. This study enriches the field of developmental psychology and mental health by emphasizing the importance of strengthening autonomy, self-acceptance, and personal boundaries among Generation Z. Practically, the findings provide a foundation for psychological interventions, counseling services, and self-development programs aimed at enhancing psychological well-being and preventing the adverse effects of people-pleasing behavior among young people in Indonesia.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the impact of Work Engagement on the productivity of millennial and Gen Z workers. This study is quantitative and uses a descriptive correlational strategy. The purpose of this data collection is to examine the relationship between research variables. There were 96 respondents from Generation Z (those aged between 18 and 28 years) who filled out the questionnaire used to collect data. The data were analyzed using basic linear regression. With a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05) and a coefficient of determination of 54.9%, the analysis shows that when the level of employee engagement increases, performance also increases. It can be concluded that the correlation between Work Engagement and performance is linear. This study strengthens the idea that the level of engagement of Gen Z workers with their work is directly correlated with their productivity in the current workplace. Therefore, efforts to increase the productivity of Generation Z workers must consider their level of engagement in the workplace.
