This research was a quantitative research study with a correlative analytical type. A sample of nurses in the Children's HCU and PICU at RSUD Dr. Saiful Anwar Malang, numbering 55 people. The research instrument used was a questionnaire. The research results showed that the majority of respondents had strong work motivation (60,0%). Most respondents had good caring behavior (56,4%). The Pearson Correlation statistical test produces a p-value = 0,000. The results of statistical tests show that there was a relationship between work motivation and the caring behavior of nurses in the Children's HCU Room at RSUD Dr. Saiful Anwar Malang. Nurses who have strong motivation tend to provide good service, but if nurses have weak work motivation, this makes the nurse lazy in carrying out activities, namely serving and caring for patients, in this case, behaving caringly towards patients. Abstract

Background: Dengue Haemorrhagic Fever (DHF) remains a serious threat in tropical regions, including Indonesia, with a significant increase in cases. Purpose: The spread of this disease is influenced by community cultural factors and behaviours related to environmental sanitation. Cultural differences between rural and urban communities affect dengue prevention efforts. Through the measurement of the House Index (HI) and Container Index (CI), the relationship between community behaviour and mosquito density can be determined. Methods: This study analysed the influence of community cultural factors on the movement and breeding behaviour of Aedes aegypti mosquitoes in Malang Regency. Using a quantitative analytical observational design (cross-sectional), the research was conducted in three subdistricts with the highest DHF cases: Dau, Kepanjen, and Singosari. Results: The results showed that family support for DHF prevention was generally positive but not significantly related to mosquito density (p = 0.796). Conversely, community leader support showed a significant effect (p = 0.044), as residents were more obedient to local leaders’ guidance. Community leaders play a crucial role in dengue control, while family involvement needs to be strengthened through education and active participation. Conclusion: Nurses are advised to empower families and collaborate with community leaders in implementing the 3M Plus movement and culturally based education to reduce mosquito density and Dengue Haemorrhagic Fever cases.

Abstract

Introduction: Anxiety is a common phenomenon experienced by patients before undergoing surgical procedures. Pre-operative patients with Hand Joint Stiffness often experience heightened levels of anxiety due to uncertainty about the procedure and its impact on their health condition. To manage pre-operative patient anxiety holistically, the Thinking, Feeling, and Acting (TFA) based counseling method has emerged as a promising approach.  Methods: This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the TFA-based counseling method on anxiety levels of pre-operative patients experiencing stiffness in the joint hand. The TFA counseling method is holistic, integrating thoughts, feelings, and actions in the counseling process. This study employed a quasi-experimental design with test and control groups. Participants consisted of 30 pre-operative patients with Hand Joint Stiffness  s randomly assigned to treatment (received TFA counseling) comprising 15 patients, and control (did not receive counseling) comprising 15 patients. Data collection utilized the Anxiety Questionnaire The-Amsterdam Preoperative Anxiety and Information Scale (APAIS), with a pretest conducted before TFA treatment and a post-test after TFA counseling  Results: Data analysis utilized the Statistical Test Paired Sample T-Test to assess the effectiveness of TFA counseling in reducing anxiety among Hand Joint Stiffness   pre-operative patients. The research findings indicated a p-value of  < 0.05, suggesting that the TFA counseling method is effective in reducing anxiety levels in pre-operative patients with Hand Joint Stiffness. Patients who underwent TFA counseling demonstrated significant reductions in anxiety scores compared to the control group. Conclusion: These findings underscore the importance of a holistic approach in counseling pre-operative patients experiencing stiffness in the joint hand. The TFA counseling method can serve as an effective alternative in managing anxiety in patients before undergoing surgery.
