Abstract

Handling criminal acts involving children in motorcycle gangs is a crucial step regulated by national criminal law and Islamic law with an emphasis on child protection and moral development and the future of these children. The purpose of this study is to evaluate existing legal regulations, identify challenges in their implementation, and analyze efforts made to prevent criminal acts by children in motorcycle gangs in Bangun Sari Village, Tanjung Morawa District. The method used in this study is juridical-empirical with a case study approach, which includes interviews with the police and field data analysis. The research findings show that the preventive approach is carried out through active involvement of families, schools, and communities; the repressive approach is applied as a last resort with the principle of ultimum remedium; while the rehabilitative approach focuses on development and restorative justice. The challenges faced include technical limitations such as facilities and human resources, legal obstacles in aligning regulations, and the social impact of the environment and media. This study concludes that collaboration between preventive, repressive, and rehabilitative approaches is essential to create a supportive atmosphere in preventing deviant behavior in children. The police are implementing preventive measures consisting of preventive efforts, namely actions taken before a crime occurs, as well as enforcement measures, namely actions taken after a crime occurs.

Abstract

This activity aims to analyze the level of consumer legal awareness of their rights and obligations in digital transactions and identify obstacles in law enforcement in this area. The method used is a socio-legal approach with a combination of qualitative and participatory, including interviews, observations, and socialization of legal education to the community. The results of the study showed that before the socialization, public understanding of consumer protection regulations was still low. However, after education, the level of understanding increased by 70%, although challenges in implementing legal protection remain. The main obstacles include lack of access to information, low trust in complaint mechanisms, and weak supervision of e-commerce platforms. This study recommends increasing legal education, strengthening regulations, and collaboration between the government, business actors, and the community in creating safer online transactions. With better legal awareness, it is hoped that consumers can protect their rights more effectively, so that the digital economy ecosystem can develop fairly and sustainably.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the level of legal awareness of students and the effectiveness of various prevention programs that have been implemented. Using a qualitative approach with descriptive methods, data were collected through interviews, observations, and literature studies. The results of the study indicate that the majority of students do not understand the legal regulations related to narcotics, making them vulnerable to abuse. Interactive educational methods, such as legal case simulations and group discussions, have proven to be more effective than conventional lectures. Other factors contributing to low legal awareness are the lack of educators who have a deep understanding of narcotics law and weak family involvement in prevention. Schools that implement a community-based approach and strict supervision show more positive results in reducing drug abuse rates. This study recommends the integration of legal education into the school curriculum, training for teachers, and optimizing the role of digital media in disseminating information. With a comprehensive and sustainable approach, it is hoped that students' legal awareness will increase, so that drug abuse rates can be significantly reduced.

Abstract

The advancement of information technology has significantly altered the landscape of crime and law enforcement. Traditional criminal law frameworks, which were designed to address conventional offenses, are increasingly inadequate in responding to modern digital crimes such as cyber fraud, hacking, data theft, and online defamation. This research explores the urgency of criminal law reform in Indonesia to ensure legal instruments remain effective and relevant in the face of technological change. Using a normative legal method and supported by qualitative data, this study analyzes current legislation, including the Indonesian Penal Code (KUHP), and identifies its limitations in dealing with crimes facilitated by information technology. The research highlights the gaps in definitions, enforcement procedures, and jurisdictional challenges that emerge from transnational and anonymous digital offenses. The findings show a pressing need to reform criminal law by incorporating more adaptive legal definitions, strengthening cybercrime investigation mechanisms, and enhancing interagency cooperation. Additionally, the research suggests aligning national laws with international cybercrime standards to foster more effective cross-border enforcement. Reforming criminal law is not only necessary for justice but also for protecting digital society from evolving threats.
