Abstract

One of the main factors leading to the high incidence of infectious diseases is the low knowledge and preventive behaviour among the community (Alodokter, 2018; Hellosehat Kemenkes, 2022). This study aims to examine the role of health education in increasing public awareness of the importance of infectious disease prevention, and to analyse the effectiveness of educational methods used in various health programmes. This research uses a case study method with a qualitative approach. Case studies were chosen because they allow researchers to explore in depth the phenomenon of the role of health education in increasing community awareness of the importance of preventing infectious diseases (Ismadi, 2023). The focus of this study was to holistically understand health education interventions in a particular community and their impact on behaviour change and community awareness From the results shown in Table 1, the attitudes of subjects I and II before being given health counselling related to infectious diseases were in the less category with a percentage of 60%. Table 2 shows that after being given health counselling to improve family attitudes in preventing infectious diseases in adolescents. Subject I where the pre-test results were 60% and post-test results were 90%. The importance of health education in preventive interventions, which has a tangible impact on behaviour change and reduced risk of disease transmission.

Abstract

Low birth weight (LBW) remains a public health problem that contributes to high rates of neonatal morbidity and mortality. This study aimed to analyse the association between pregnant women's micronutrient intake and the incidence of LBW. The study design was a prospective cohort study involving 210 second to third trimester pregnant women in Padang City in 2025. Micronutrient intake was assessed using the 3x24 hour food recall method, while the baby's birth weight data was obtained during delivery. Chi-square test and logistic regression were used for analysis. The results showed the prevalence of LBW was 15.2%. Intake of iron, zinc, vitamin D, and folic acid were found to be significantly associated with LBW (p < 0.05), while vitamin A and vitamin B12 showed no significant association. Further analysis revealed that iron deficiency was the dominant factor contributing most to the incidence of LBW. These findings confirm the importance of micronutrient fulfilment during pregnancy, both through a nutritionally balanced diet and supplementation, to prevent LBW. Therefore, micronutrient interventions need to be prioritised in maternal and child health programmes, especially through strengthening nutrition counselling and monitoring supplement compliance in antenatal care services.

Abstract

Advances in technology encourage teachers to become digital teachers who can innovate 21st-century learning. The development of instructional video media is a solution in creating active and popular learning today. Thinking critically, systematically, and logically in solving problems is part of numeracy, its simple ability to use mathematical sentences in everyday life. Therefore, the researcher developed an instructional video media through numeracy-based for grade III elementary school students at SDS Maria Mediatrik; the material for adding and decreasing fractions is the same. This study used the research and development (R&D) method with the ADDIE research model (analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating). This study aimed to see the video development process, the feasibility of learning videos, students' responses to learning videos and provide provisions for understanding after using instructional videos. Numeracy-based. The validation of video learning media obtained 88.33% with the category "very feasibility" tested. Student responses get an average of 97.50% in the "very good" category. The understanding results show an average value of 81.25; thus, this study concluded that "the value exceeds the 75 criteria for the school's minimum completeness criteria (KKM)

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of hemoglobin levels and motivation on students' physical fitness. This study used a quantitative approach with a correlational design and involved 60 students as respondents who were randomly selected through random sampling techniques. The variables studied consisted of hemoglobin levels measured with a hemoglobinometer, motivation levels measured using a questionnaire with a Likert scale, and physical fitness measured through physical tests which included running 1,600 meters, push-ups, and sit-ups. The results of bivariate analysis showed a significant relationship between hemoglobin levels and students' physical fitness (p = 0.003). In addition, the study also showed a significant relationship between motivation and students' physical fitness (p = 0.001). Students with high motivation had better physical fitness, with most being in the good (18.3%) and moderate (16.7%) categories. The results of this study confirmed that sufficient hemoglobin and high motivation play an important role in supporting students' physical fitness. This study provides important insights into the factors that influence students' physical fitness in an educational setting.

Abstract

A pregnant woman is considered to have anemia if her hemoglobin level is less than 11 grams/dl. This disease causes problems for the mother and the fetus, including infection, bleeding, birth defects, and possibly maternal and infant death. Purpose : The purpose of this research is to identify the variables linked to the prevalence of anemia in expectant mothers at the Community Health Center. Methods : This research is cross-sectional and analytical in nature. All pregnant women in the vicinity of the Bungus Community Health Center made up the study population, and 80 pregnant women were chosen as a sample using the incidental sampling technique. Questionnaires and a digital hemoglobin equipment were used to measure hemoglobin levels. The Chi-Square statistical test was used to conduct the analysis both univariately and bivariately. Result : According to the findings, anemia affected 66.2% of expectant mothers. Factors found to be associated with the incidence of anemia were education level (p = 0.00) and pregnancy spacing (p = 0.02), while knowledge level did not have a significant relationship (p = 0.073).  Implications : The study's findings indicate that while there is no appreciable relationship between knowledge level and anemia incidence, the incidence of anemia in pregnant women is connected with both pregnancy spacing and educational attainment. Conclusion : To prevent anemia, it is hoped that health professionals will take a more active role in educating expectant mothers about the value of proper diet and prenatal monitoring.

Abstract

Probiotics, which are live microorganisms that benefit the host, have been shown to be effective in preventing and treating antibiotic-associated diarrhea (AAD). However, the specific molecular mechanisms of individual probiotic strains remain poorly understood. This study aims to explore strain-specific approaches for managing gastrointestinal disorders and to provide a scientific overview of the benefits and mechanisms of probiotics in maintaining and improving gut health through complex and interconnected pathways. A systematic literature search was conducted using keywords such as “probiotics,” “gut microbiota,” “strain-specific mechanisms,” “gastrointestinal health,” “host-microbe interaction,” and “synbiotics,” across reputable databases including PubMed, Scopus, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar. The methodological quality and strength of evidence for each study were assessed using the GRADE (Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development and Evaluation) framework. Numerous studies have confirmed that probiotics help prevent and treat AAD and may also reduce the risk of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and inflammatory bowel diseases. Clinical trials have also shown promising results regarding the ability of various probiotic strains to balance the mucosal immune system and gut microbiota. However, comprehensive research on the synergistic interactions between probiotic and prebiotic strains remains limited. Therefore, future studies should focus on cross-omic approaches, exploration of local strains from traditional diets, and personalized strategies to optimize the efficacy of probiotics in supporting gastrointestinal health.
