Abstract

This is ex post facto research to find the relation between student’s perceptions to the statistics lecturer in learning process with statistics achievement of students semester V of the Department of Mathematics Education of Universitas Muslim Maros. The population is all students of the Department of Mathematics Education Universitas Muslim Maros in academic year 2017/2018. And the sample is 30 respondents of students who taught by statistics lecturer. Data analyze by SPSS software. According to analyze get that student’s perception to statistics lecturer generally very positive with average 138,57 and statistics achievement is very good with average 79,63. Besides that, inferential show that there is relation between student’s perceptions to the statistics lecturer with coefficient is 0,594. From analyze, it can conclude that there are relation between student’s perceptions to the statistics lecturer in learning process with statistics achievement of students semester V of Department of Mathematics Education Universitas Muslim Maros.

Abstract

This research was an experimental research that aimmed to know and measure the effectiveness of the application of Problem Based Learning model (PBL) with the assistance of animation media on tetragon material. This research type was quantitative research with one group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study was the students of class VII SMP Negeri 5 Mandai with a random sample of 28 students in an experimental class. Data collection using a test of learning achievement that has been validated by the expert. The data of this research were analyzed descriptively and inferential with normality test as prerequisite analysis test. The results of the data analysis showed that the average pre-test was 45,57 while the average post-test was 84,32. Average gain scores normalized 0,72 in the high category and normally distributed for learning achievement data. Based on the t-test obtained 0,000 < α = 0,025 we could conclud that there was a significant increase. The post-test also showed that 26 out of 28 students (92,86%) have reached KKM score in mathematics in SMP Negeri 5 Mandai. The results of this study indicate that there was a significant improvement on the mathematics learning achievement of students after being taught with PBL model with the assistance of animation media on tetragon material.

Abstract

Permasalahan pengelolaan sampah di Desa Tindang masih didominasi oleh rendahnya pemahaman dan keterampilan warga dalam memilah sampah, sehingga sebagian besar sampah rumah tangga dibuang secara tercampur dan berpotensi menimbulkan pencemaran lingkungan. Program pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan kesadaran warga Desa Tindang mengenai pemilahan sampah yang benar serta mendorong terbentuknya perilaku pengelolaan sampah yang lebih bertanggung jawab melalui pendekatan community engagement. Kegiatan dilakukan melalui sosialisasi, penyampaian materi, pelatihan teknis, demonstrasi penggunaan wadah pemilahan, praktik lapangan, serta pendampingan dan monitoring. Evaluasi program menggunakan pre–post-test untuk mengukur perubahan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta. Hasil menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan pada aspek pemahaman kategori sampah dari 35% menjadi 90%, kemampuan memilah dari 25% menjadi 85%, serta kesadaran dampak lingkungan dari 40% menjadi 95%. Komitmen warga untuk melakukan pemilahan juga meningkat dari 30% menjadi 90%, disertai munculnya inisiatif pembentukan kelompok peduli lingkungan. Temuan tersebut membuktikan bahwa pelatihan berbasis community engagement efektif dalam mendorong perubahan perilaku masyarakat dan dapat direplikasi pada wilayah lain untuk memperkuat pengelolaan sampah berbasis pemberdayaan komunitas.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between learning motivation and cognitive load among elementary school students in mathematics learning, and to examine whether interactive multimedia instruction moderates this relationship. A quantitative correlational design was employed. Participants were elementary school students who experienced two different instructional conditions: interactive multimedia learning and conventional learning. Data were collected using a motivation scale based on the ARCS model and a cognitive load scale developed according to Cognitive Load Theory. Data analysis was conducted using Pearson correlation and Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). The results indicate a significant negative relationship between learning motivation and cognitive load (r = −0.361, p = .007), suggesting that higher motivation is associated with lower perceived cognitive load. However, the moderation analysis revealed that the type of instruction did not significantly moderate the relationship between learning motivation and cognitive load (p = .173), indicating that the effect of motivation remained consistent across both instructional conditions. These findings highlight the role of motivation as an important psychological factor affecting cognitive processing in mathematics learning. Meanwhile, the use of multimedia requires careful instructional design to ensure that it contributes effectively without increasing unnecessary cognitive demands.
