Abstract

Discrimination against women in the workplace is still a complex social problem, including in the field of archaeology. NovelAl-Hubb Fii Zaman An-Nafth depicts the story of a female archaeologist who experiences gender discrimination in her work. The main character is prohibited from going looking for statues without permission, while her male colleagues do not face similar restrictions. This study aims to describe the sociological review of literature on moral integrity in the novel. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method by analyzing the patriarchal and moral areas presented in the novel. The results show that the female character in these novel fights discrimination due to the patriarchal culture inherent in society through self-motivation and internal drive. She shows courage and moral firmness in facing the injustice she experiences. In addition, the moral integrity of the main character is reflected in honesty, consistency, commitment, perseverance, and self-discipline. Values such as responsibility, trust, and justice are also principles that are firmly held in her struggle. This study reveals that moral integrity plays an important role in dealing with gender discrimination. The female character in this novel represents an empowered woman, who not only opposes injustice but also proves that morality, perseverance, and courage can be the main weapons in fighting discrimination. These findings provide new perspectives on how literature can reflect social realities and promote gender equality in society.

Abstract

This research examines the use of kalam khobari (declarative sentences) in Qiṣṣat al-Miʿrāj, a book that documents the spiritual journey of Prophet Muhammad SAW.  The objectives of this study are (1) to identify and classify the types of kalam khobari, including ibtidā’ī, ṭalabī, and inkārī, and (2) to analyze their communicative purposes and functions in conveying spiritual messages. The research employs observation and note-taking as data collection techniques, while using the distributional method to analyze grammatical structures and meanings. The data is presented descriptively and interpretatively. The findings reveal a total of 69 kalam khobari expressions: 5 khabar ibtidā’ī, 53 khabar ṭalabī, and 11 khabar inkārī. The main communicative purposes are categorized into faidah al-khabar (58 instances) and lazīmul faidah (11 instances). Additionally, several secondary functions were identified, including izhār al-fakhr (displaying glory) in 7 sentences, tadzkīr bimā bayna al-marātib (reminding of status differences) in 5, tawbīkh (reproach) in 6, waʿẓ wa irshād (advice and guidance) in 14, izhār al-taḥassur (expressing regret) in 1, and taḥdhīr (warning) in 5 sentences. These results affirm that kalam khobari in Qiṣṣat al-Miʿrāj serves not only an informative function but also contributes significantly to emphasis, correction, motivation, and spiritual guidance within religious communication.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the meaning of true love (al-mahabbah al-ṣādiqah) in Imam Syafi'i's poem al-ḥubb al-ṣādiq through Bouman's hermeneutic approach. In the modern context marked by a crisis of values and emotional alienation, classical Islamic literature offers spiritual reflections that are relevant to the formation of ethical and humanitarian awareness. This study uses qualitative methods with literature study techniques, focusing on semantic and hermeneutic analysis of classical Arabic texts and their translations. The analysis was conducted by tracing the relationship between the author, the text, and the reader to find dynamic contextual meanings. The results of the study show that sya'ir al-ḥubb al-ṣādiq describes true love as a unity between words, actions, and moral consciousness. Imam Shafi'i emphasizes that sincere love requires obedience, gratitude, and responsibility towards the beloved. Through Bouman's framework, this text is understood not merely as a religious expression, but as a universal reflection on integrity and honesty in love. This finding enriches the study of Islamic literature and hermeneutics by offering a contextual perspective on the transcendental and humanistic value of love.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap dekonstruksi makna kehidupan dan kematian dalam novel Seporsi Mie Ayam Sebelum Mati karya Fiersa Besari melalui perspektif semiotika Jacques Derrida. Pendekatan dekonstruktif digunakan untuk membongkar lapisan-lapisan makna tersembunyi di balik bahasa dan simbol yang digunakan pengarang. Derrida berpendapat bahwa makna tidak pernah bersifat tetap, melainkan senantiasa berubah melalui permainan tanda (play of signs) dan konsep différance. Dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif, penelitian ini menelaah secara mendalam teks novel untuk mengidentifikasi jejak dan permainan tanda yang menyingkap ambiguitas antara kehidupan dan kematian, harapan dan keputusasaan, serta kehadiran dan ketiadaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Fiersa Besari menggunakan bahasa yang puitis dan metaforis untuk menyampaikan refleksi eksistensial tentang absurditas kehidupan manusia dan penundaan makna yang tiada akhir. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa novel tersebut tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai narasi personal, tetapi juga sebagai ruang filosofis di mana makna senantiasa dinegosiasikan dan tidak pernah sepenuhnya tercapai.

Abstract

Kebebasan linguistik dalam masyarakat multikultural mendorong praktik bilingualisme dan multilingualisme, yang secara nyata terefleksi melalui fenomena alih kode dan campur kode dalam komunikasi sehari-hari. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan bentuk serta fungsi alih kode dan campur kode yang terjadi dalam film pendek “Arutala” Gontor. Film ini dipilih karena merepresentasikan interaksi kehidupan santri di lingkungan pesantren yang dikenal multilingul. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif-analitis, studi ini mengidentifikasi dan mendokumentasikan variasi penggunaan bahasa dalam dialog. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa alih kode dan campur kode dalam film “Arutala” Gontor adalah cerminan praktik bilingualisme di pesantren, yang tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai sarana komunikasi fungsional, tetapi juga berkontribusi pada ekspresi budaya dan pembentukan identitas keislaman para santri.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kategori respon pembaca terhadap novel Kita Pergi Hari Ini karya Ziggy Zezsyazeoviennazabrizkie yang dipublikasikan melalui platform Goodreads. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, dengan sumber data berupa 15 ulasan pembaca yang diperoleh melalui teknik purposive sampling. Analisis data dilakukan melalui teknik distribusional dan teknik padan dengan memanfaatkan landasan teori kategori respon pembaca dari Beach (1993), yang mencakup lima kategori utama: textual, experiential, psychological, social, dan cultural. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kategori respon pembaca yang paling dominan adalah kategori textual, di mana pembaca lebih banyak menyoroti unsur intrinsik novel seperti gaya bahasa, alur, dan unsur struktural lainnya. Selain itu, kategori experiential dan psychological juga ditemukan, meskipun tidak sebanyak kategori textual. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa pembaca tidak hanya terlibat secara emosional, namun juga aktif menilai struktur naratif yang disajikan dalam novel tersebut. Secara keseluruhan, penelitian ini memberikan gambaran mengenai bentuk apresiasi dan interpretasi pembaca sastra di era digital melalui media sosial literasi, serta memperlihatkan bagaimana media daring seperti Goodreads berperan dalam mengonstruksi makna karya sastra secara kolektif.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze violations of the Cooperative Principle in Kisah Nabi Yusuf AS Episode 18, which was broadcast on the Salam Media YouTube channel. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method with a pragmatic approach, focusing on the identification and classification of Cooperative Principle violations based on Grice’s theory, namely the maxims of quantity, quality, relevance, and manner. The research data consist of utterances produced by the characters in the film, collected through observation and note-taking techniques. Data analysis was conducted by applying intralingual and extralingual matching techniques to interpret the utterances in relation to their linguistic and situational contexts. The findings reveal that violations of all four maxims of the Cooperative Principle occur in the dialogues between characters, serving various communicative purposes such as avoiding direct responses, concealing particular intentions, conveying implicit meanings, and enhancing the dramatic effect of the narrative. These findings indicate that violations of the Cooperative Principle function as pragmatic strategies that support interactional dynamics and conflict development within film discourse.
