Abstract

Abstract This study aims to identify the initial knowledge of students of the Department of Automotive Engineering Education FT UNY related to electric motorbikes. A quantitative survey method was used with a Likert scale questionnaire which included 10 statement items. The research respondents were students of the Department of Automotive Engineering Education FT UNY who were taking the Motorcycle Technology Course. The results showed that the level of initial knowledge was in the moderate category with an average score of 2.76. Some aspects such as hands-on experience and maintenance of electric motorcycles are low, while interest in learning more deeply is high. So, it is recommended to update the curriculum and study materials in the Semester Learning Plan (RPS) of the Motorcycle Technology Course, as well as the development of teaching tools to support students' understanding of electric motorcycle technology. Curriculum updates support SDGs 4, namely quality education by improving student competencies and aligning learning with industry needs. This research is also in line with SDGs 7, namely clean and affordable energy, through the introduction of environmentally friendly electric motorcycle technology to support clean energy. Keywords: initial knowledge, students, electric motorbikes Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi pengetahuan awal mahasiswa Departemen Pendidikan Teknik Otomotif FT UNY terkait sepeda motor listrik.

Abstract

The implementation of deep learning in Indonesian junior high schools remains challenging due to teachers’ limited understanding and practical readiness. This community service program aimed to enhance teachers’ knowledge of deep learning principles within the Merdeka Curriculum and to support them in developing deep learning-based teaching materials. The program involved training and mentoring 46 teachers from two public junior high schools in Yogyakarta using workshops, guided practice, and follow-up support. Data were collected through a knowledge quiz, a participant satisfaction questionnaire, and document analysis of the developed learning modules. The results show that teachers achieved a good level of understanding of deep learning concepts (mean score = 8.1), expressed high satisfaction with the program, and successfully produced learning modules that reflected key characteristics of deep learning and were ready for classroom use. These findings indicate that structured professional development can effectively support teachers in implementing deep learning within the Merdeka Curriculum and may serve as a practical model for similar school-based training programs.

Abstract

This study examined the usability of a metacognition-based microlearning platform developed through a design-based research (DBR) framework. The evaluation was carried out in the sixth stage of the DBR cycle, evaluation and reflection, to validate its practicality and effectiveness as an instructional tool. A quantitative approach was applied using the Usefulness, Satisfaction, and Ease of Use (USE) Ques-tionnaire, administered to 252 students enrolled in the Automotive Vocational Teacher Education pro-gram in 4 different universities. The questionnaire consisted of 30 items on a 7-point Likert scale, as-sessing four dimensions: usefulness, ease of use, ease of learning, and satisfaction. Data were analyzed descriptively by calculating means, standard deviations, and categorical levels. The results indicated very high usability across all dimensions, with mean total scores of 53.33 for usefulness, 73.46 for ease of use, 26.63 for ease of learning, and 46.62 for satisfaction. These findings demonstrate that the learn-ing platform is highly usable, functionally effective, and well received by students.
