Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of statistics lecturer competence and teaching strategies on students’ interest in learning statistics at Universitas Murni Teguh PSDKU Pematangsiantar. Using a quantitative approach with a sample of 105 undergraduate students, data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The findings reveal that lecturer competence has a strong and significant positive effect on students’ interest (β = 0.684; p < 0.001), indicating that pedagogical skills, subject mastery, and communicative ability play a crucial role in motivating students to engage with statistical content. Conversely, teaching strategies showed a significant yet negative effect (β = -0.188; p < 0.05), suggesting a potential mismatch between current instructional approaches and students’ learning preferences. Validity and reliability tests confirmed that all constructs met convergent validity (outer loading > 0.70), internal consistency (Cronbach’s alpha > 0.88), and model fit criteria (SRMR = 0.069; NFI = 0.830). The results highlight the importance of competent and engaging lecturers in fostering positive attitudes toward learning statistics, while also emphasizing the need for adaptive and student-centered teaching strategies. This study contributes to the growing body of knowledge on educational quality and student engagement in quantitative disciplines, and offers practical implications for improving teaching practices in higher education, particularly in contexts where statistics is perceived as a challenging subject

Abstract

This research examines Indonesia's strategic reaction to global value chain (GVC) disruptions via export tariff reforms under President Prabowo Subianto's administration. This research utilises a narrative literature analysis to combine findings from peer-reviewed journals, policy documents, and institutional reports published from 2014 to 2024. The study reveals that whereas tariff liberalisation seeks to improve export competitiveness, its efficacy is limited by non-tariff barriers, deficiencies in digital infrastructure, and institutional fragmentation. Compared to regional counterparts like Vietnam and Thailand, Indonesia's inward-oriented trade policy may restrict its inclusion into high-value areas of global value chains. The investigation is confined to secondary sources, providing conceptual insights instead of causal assertions. It underscores the necessity for synchronised reforms, including logistical modernisation, digital preparedness, and conformity with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria. This study enhances the discussion on trade policy adjustment in emerging economies in the context of increasing global uncertainty

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the integration of digital technology in character education in the era of the Industrial Revolution 5.0 through  a systematic literature review  approach to 50 selected studies published in the 2020–2025 period. The results of the study show that digital literacy is the main foundation that strengthens the formation of students' character, especially in terms of honesty, responsibility, empathy, and 21st century skills. The role of teachers, families, schools, and governments has proven to be crucial in supporting implementation, while the main challenges lie in the gap in technology access, human resource readiness, and curriculum adaptation. This study also identifies  research gaps, namely the limitations of integrative models that connect technology, character education, and digital resilience simultaneously, as well as the lack of empirical evidence based on the Indonesian context that is in line with the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) program. Thus, this article provides a conceptual contribution in the form of new research directions and policy models that emphasize digital literacy, ethics, and critical digital citizenship as instruments for shaping the character and digital resilience of the younger generation.

Abstract

This study explores the influence of foreign language proficiency, digital literacy, and learning agility on the sustainability of women-led MSMEs in rural tourism, with digital literacy as a mediator and learning agility as a moderator. Guided by the Theory of Planned Behavior, Social Cognitive Theory, and Human Capital Theory, a quantitative explanatory design was employed using PLS-SEM on data from 300 women entrepreneurs in Samosir, Indonesia. Findings indicate that foreign language proficiency does not directly predict sustainability (β = 0.082; p = 0.080) but has a strong indirect effect via digital literacy (β = 0.393; p < 0.001). Language skills act as enablers rather than stand-alone drivers. Foreign language significantly enhances digital literacy (β = 0.837; p < 0.001), which in turn strongly predicts MSME sustainability (β = 0.469; p < 0.001). Learning agility also directly contributes (β = 0.414; p < 0.001) but does not moderate the language-sustainability link (β = −0.011; p = 0.238). The study advances theory by identifying digital literacy as a mediator and learning agility as an independent enabler. Practically, it recommends integrated, culturally grounded training. The primary limitation is its single-regional focus, suggesting future cross-regional, longitudinal, and conditional modeling.
